Damen is a slave in name only, do people realise? lol. Neither Laurent or Damen himself think of him as a slave; Laurent sees him as more of an enemy and always a king.
And PoC? lmao damn America, back at it again with applying your mindsets to the rest of the world (and now a fantasy universe). The story would’ve worked exactly the same if Damen was white. He was never, not once in the story, discriminated for the colour of his skin. Last time I checked, I live in Australia, same place where the author is from, and we do not refer to our Aborigines as “PoC”. I’m hysterical whenever I see antis referring to Damen as “the PoC slave”, because that’s not how the author would’ve written him at all.
