I think, one reason aside from him being just a great character in my eyes, that I love Gale Dekarios so much is that he is a character in my age range AND his design does not make him look younger. He has grey streaks (I don't have grey hair yet, but I'm looking forward to them, they're so pretty!), his joints hurt, he has wrinkles, his back is probably aching from sleeping on the ground...he's just so blissfully human and his age isn't retouched away. In a society where youth is so damn glorified, beauty-ops and anti-aging "solutions" are profiting from people's insecurities about aging, where people are deemed 'too old' for jobs and hobbies as soon as they're in their thirties, this is so, SO, refreshing. It's beautiful and delightful to have a character I can relate to and find comfort in that's not in his early to mid-twenties and while I, myself, mostly feel much younger than I am as well, this is just so...amazing. I love it. I love Larian for giving Gale to us.

You should only write in present tense with extreme caution.
not because it's bad or anything but because if you do it even once you're going to be editing the bits where you shifted tenses out of your writing for the rest of your life
if u write in present tense enough times in a row, you can switch this problem around & get confused when your present-tense narrator is talking abt something that happened in Their past. I recommend this bc it keeps u on ur toes

Charming, witty and WOW'S you 🔮 Gale Dekarios in my style ⚡️
Leaning more into Gale's 'rebellious romantic' personality, mixed with playing him focussed on storm magic in my run I absolutely adore the wild look for him (especially with his messier hair haha)
