When he finally reaches the safe walls of his bedroom, he opens up his own laptop, instantly typing ‘Sunset Curve’ in one tab, and ‘Julie and The Phantoms’ in the other. There are far more results for the latter, which makes sense, because its 2020 now and it was 1995 then.

or, what would happen if bobby came to visit julie because he recognised the boys?
“ if you asked me to marry you tomorrow, i'd say yes. “ “ what about today? “ for Boggie 💙 - night
Buddy!!! I almost wrote this in one go, that's how good this idea is! Okay, Boggie marriage proposal, party time.
Boggie. 600 words. Rated T (for swearing). Mentions of acohol but they're also drunk (there won't be alcohol in every fic, I swear).
“Reggie, no – Reggie you need to understand this!”
“Hm,” Reggie answers, nodding. He’s holding onto Bobby’s wrists left and right next to his face where Bobby is squishing his cheeks with his palms. The party after their gig is in full swing, loud music, people squishing past where they’re standing at edge of the room. It’s overstimulating, but they only have eyes for each other.
“You are the most important person in my life.” Reggie blows a raspberry and Bobby pinches his cheeks tighter. “Reggie!”
“I’m just saying,” Reggie interjects, “you should be your own important – most important person, for yourself, you know?” He swallows around the gross feeling of alcohol in his mouth. “Love yourself and shit.”
“Reggie, my love, my angel, my- my – everything!” Bobby stops for a moment, making Reggie look at him. “I – don’t hate myself, I wouldn’t say that I love myself because who really says that without sounding egostal- egocenal- ego – self-centered, and –”
“Bobby!”
“YES! I just love you, okay! Like, with every part of me, it’s scary sometimes! We’ve been dating for, what, four years and I –”
“And a half!”
“And a half! And I don’t even wanna be without you again, I don’t wanna – Bro, I can’t imagine that! Like, we started dating just out of college and then the – the band happened and I don’t –” Bobby takes a deep breath, “I forgot where I was going with this, I lost my point.”
Reggie chuckles. “Too much whiskey?”
“Shut up, I’m trying to make a point here.”
“You just said you lost it.”
“I can get it back.” Bobby pauses, squinting a little, rummaging in his brain. The grin on Reggie’s face between his hand grows wider and he drops them. “Okay fine, I can’t.”
“Told ya,” Reggie counters, letting go of Bobby’s wrists too and crossing his arms in front of his chest.
“It’s not important, okay? Listen!”
“I’m listening.”
“If you asked me to marry you tomorrow, I'd say ‘yes’.”
“What about today?”
A beat.
“Huh?”
“Yeah, what if I asked you today?”
Bobby’s jumbly brain stops to a halt. He blinks at Reggie.
“I mean, I don’t have the ring right now, it’s at home, I was gonna do it next week, but like, who cares. Robin, do you wanna marry me?”
“What?”
“What?”
“You have a ring?”
“Yeah, dude, I was gonna take you out for dinner and ask you all fancy, you know. But this is much cheaper.”
Bobby gapes at Reggie. He studies his face, trying to find any hint of a joke. Nothing. Just the colorful reflection of all the stage lights in his eyes, his cheeks flushed both from the alcohol and their conversation, his lopsided grin. Holy shit.
“You better take me out for dinner!” Bobby says and throws himself at Reggie. He pulls him in with his hands on his jaw and presses his lips to Reggie’s. Reggie catches him easily, holding him at the waist and kissing back just as fiercely. Bobby slides his hands to the back of Reggie’s head and buries them in his hair, not letting Reggie go, not ever letting him go. After another moment Reggie pulls back, squeezing Bobby’s waist to get his attention.
“Is that a yes?” he asks, his face barely an inch away from Bobby’s.
Bobby frowns at him, then gently pulls at his hair. “Yes, you idiot, it’s a yes! Fuck!” And then he kisses him again.
The only unrealistic thing about Julie and the phantoms becoming friends that fast is there was no scene of them lightheartedly but intensely sharing all of their trauma as a back and forth of “oh that happened to you? Well it’s not the same but in the same vein, this happened to me!” “Well while we’re on the topic of that one time I-”
Like yes queers make friends that fast but you always end up just talking about your shit as a form of bonding and the fact that Reggie didn’t casually reference being yelled at only for Luke to bounce off that is unrealistic honedtly /j
I don’t mean this is in a musical way, but I don’t think anyone would have a problem expressing themself though song as they already do that.
Im once again thinking about This band is back(Reggie’s jam). How they cannonically make up a song right there on the beach to feel better?
The song is extremely underrated and I’ll maintain this. It implies they did this before, particuarly when upset. All of them contributing they’re part and then all together. I’ve ranted about this before but I love how much music means to all of them and how it’s like a language between them. How it instantly cheers them all up on the beach, how when they played in the garage their grins were massive- even more when they found people could hear them. And how they went out to the clubs that first night in search of music. Here too, when they shift to focusing on the positive, on what they do have- they sing.
I’m thinking they all have a habit of just- singing at random times. They make up little songs , even if they’re not actually to be used by the band. You know when your walking and it’s
🎵where is my wallettt🎵
🎵no ,Luke 🎵 (he’s probably trying to steal fries or something)
Kinda thing
Julie is no helper with this because she does under her breath when she’s stressed, she also sings anything stuck in her head, usually another song or to.
i wanna see domestic phantom life. i wanna see the boys following julie around school and trying to keep up w her classes. i want to see the boys disproving Ghost Myths. i wanna see confusion at new social media trends. i need more of it.
Sometimes people like to write things about florist’s shops. Here are two things you need to know, the most egregiously wrong things.
1. It makes no fucking sense to sketch out a bouquet before you make it. Every individual flower is different in a way that cannot really be adjusted the way other building materials can be adjusted, and each individual bouquet is unique. Just put the fucking flowers together.
2. No one — in months and months of working at the flower shop — has ever cared what the flower/color of the flower means. No one’s ever asked. It’s just not something people tend to care about outside of fiction and it’s certainly not something most florists know. You know what florists know? What looks good and is thematically appropriate.
Here’s an actual list of the symbology of flowers, as professionals use it:
Yellow – for friends, hospitals
Pink – girls, girlfriends, babies, bridesmaids
Red – love
Purple – queens
White – marriage and death (DO NOT SEND TO HOSPITALS)
Pink and purple – ur mum
Red, orange, and yellow – ur mum if she’s stylish
Red, yellow, blue – dudes and small children
Blue and white – rare, probably a wedding
Red and white – love for fancy bitches
Here are what the flowers actually mean to a florist:
The Fill It Out flowers:
Carnations – fuck u these are meaningless filler-flowers, not even your administrative assistant likes them, show some creativity
Alstroemeria – by and large very similar to carnations but I like them better
Tea roses – cute and lil and come several to a stalk, a classy filler flower
Moluccella laevis – filler flower but CHOICE
Delphinium – not as interesting as moluccella but purple so okay I guess
Blue thistle – FUCK YEAH, some fucking textural variety at last! you’re getting this for a dude, aren’t you?
Chrysanthemums – barely better than carnations but better is still better
Gladiolus – ooh, risky business, someone understands the use of the Y-axis, very good
Focal points:
Long-stem roses – yeah whatever
Lilies – LBD, looks good with everything, get used as often as possible
Hydrangeas – thirsty fuckers, divas of the flower world and rightly so, treat them right and they make you look good
Gerbera daisies – the rose’s hippie cousin, hotter but no one admits it
Peonies – CHA-CHING, everybody’s absolute favorite but you need guap
Orchids – if this isn’t for a wedding you’re probably trying too hard but they’re expensive so keep ordering them
You know what matters? THE CUSTOMER’S BUDGET. THAT’S TELLING.
-$20 – if you’re not under 12, fuck off, get your sugar something else
$30 – good for bouquets but an arrangement will be lame
$40 – getting there, there’s something that can be done with that. you can get some gerbs or roses with that and not have them look stupidly solo.
$50 to $70 – tolerable
$80 – FINALLY. It sounds elitist but this really is the basic amount of money you should expect to spend on an arrangement that matters. That’s your Mother’s Day arrangement. You’re probably not going to spend $80 on a bouquet.
$90 to $130 – THE GOOD SHIT, you’re likely to get some orchids
$130+ – Weddings and death. This amount of money gets you a memorial arrangement or a handmade bridal bouquet. Don’t spend this on a Mother’s Day or a Babe I Love You arrangement, buy whosits a massage or something.
Miscellaneous:
Everything needs greening and if you don’t think that you’re an idiot.
As a new employee, when you start making arrangements, you can’t see the mistakes you’re making because you’re brand new and you’re learning an art form from the ground up.
With a few exceptions customers don’t have a clear plan in mind. They want you to develop the bouquet for them. They want something that will delight their little sweetbread but you’re lucky if they know that person’s favorite color, let alone flower.
Flower shops don’t typically have every kind of flower in every kind of color. Customers generally aren’t assed about that. Most people don’t care about the precise shade of the rose or having daffodils in July, because they’re not boning up on flower language before they buy. That would imply that they’ve got a clear bouquet in mind and, again, they don’t.
Being a florist is essentially a lot like what I imagine being a mortician is about. You’re basically keeping dead things looking good for as long as possible. You keep the product in the fridge so it doesn’t rot and look horrible by the time the family gets a whack at it, and in the meanwhile you put it in a nice container.
