PSA: HIATUS/INACTIVITY NOTICE

     I’m just going to put it out there; I’m sure everybody and their cousin has noticed by now that I haven’t been on here much. I’ve been checking every day, but… Haven’t really been answering anything. The truth is, I just don’t have a whole lot of inspiration for most of my muses anymore. I write them on Discord or Skype mostly, so if you want either of those, feel free to IM or send an ask. I’ll still roleplay there, where the pressure to perform is a bit lower. You just have to yell at me, because otherwise I’ll have literally no idea if you roleplay on Discord/Skype or not, and it’d be weird for me to just… Hand a starter without knowing. Y’know?

     Second, there’s the group I’ve been working on, Legacy of the Heroes’ Guild. We have an event going on right now, so we’ve been working with that as of late. Feel free to message me or send an ask there if you want to know more about the group, or if you’d like a link to the group Discord; you don’t have to be a member to drop in and check it out, and we always welcome curious people. We’re still in the early stages, but I’m glad to say we’ve come a long way since the opening. We now have quests, shops, events, IC chats and para-rp chats… You get the idea. It’s fully functional, at the very least.

     Anyway, I’m just going to put all my blogs on a hiatus/low activity warning for the time being. I might still do some group-related stuff on them from time to time, but between being very busy IRL and doing the group, I just really haven’t been able to do as much with these blogs as I’d like.

     Thanks to anyone who stuck around, and sorry to leave it all hanging like this. I have no idea when I’ll return for real, though hopefully it’ll be sooner rather than later.

PSA: Thread Tracker Initiated!

     Alright, with Tumblr’s notifications on the fritz, I’ve decided to do a thread tracker, too. Which has been a long time coming anyways since… I lose things too much. RIP. Anyway, I’ve already listed several threads that I intend to continue on it, so feel free to check that out here.

     If there’s a thread we have that you don’t see there and want to continue, just give me a prod and I’ll go ahead and add it. Also note that this is a list of all my threads across all my blogs; I may add blog name tags to them if they get too hard to differentiate. Most are pretty self-explanatory, though… I think.

     On another note, applications are now officially open in my upcoming crossover roleplay group, Legacy of the Heroes’ Guild! As such, I will be spending some more time over there with last-minute finishing touches, making apps for muses of my own, reading through submissions, and otherwise managing things. If you’re curious, feel free to check it out; we’re going to be starting a Test Drive soon and have a Discord server you can join, too!

     It had only been a matter of time before Denny Phantom pushed things too far... The renegade, the joker, the classic fool. He got too comfortable, too cheeky, and too sloppy. And this time, nobody would be there to catch him when he fell. Who would care for the demise of a mere irritant, a frustrating thorn in the side of every party at play?

     And now, Denny had paid the price for this arrogance, it seemed.

     The explosive cacophony of it all had been heard for miles around, and undoubtedly was the reason anyone bothered to investigate. But now, all that remained was a battlefield, and a ruined hideout. The ramshackle treehouse he’d once maintained as a hideout was in ruins, burnt and broken. The remains of a few supply crates were smoldering nearby, the contents ruined. And there... There was the cause of it all, the Perfect Clone himself.

     He lay in the grass, silent and still. This time, however, was different from the usual lazy dozing... Denny was in human form, and it revealed a grisly reality most could have overlooked before. As a ghost, one might have just thought he looked skeletal and deathly due to being, well, dead, but now... Now the truth was written all over him, tracing his sharp cheekbones and worn, calloused fingers. Much as he’d laughed and chuckled and taunted, this life had been harsh to him. This was not the appearance of someone who had been living comfortably.

     Why hadn’t he come to them, all that time? Pride? Disdain? Fear?

     For a moment, one might have thought it to already be too late. But, his chest rose and fell with ragged, weak gasps, drawing air into a broken body wracked with pain. Judging just from a cursory glance, many of his bones were fractured, or even worse... Yet they failed to mend, for there was no energy with which to do so.

     If he didn’t get help soon, this Halfa may wind up more than just half dead.

-PLOTTING CALL-

    So, I’m gonna do something a bit different this time; I definitely need to plot more with people, plus… Let’s get real, I’m awful at starter calls. On top of that, I never know what muse people want if they follow my main, so there’s that, too. Ice breaker time? I say yes.

     I’ll reblog this to each of my blogs; if you want a particular one of them to plot with, like/reply to it there. If you’re undecided and would like to hear my perspective instead, go ahead and like it here! I’ll pick out a few muses/AUs I think could be interesting, and see where we go from there.

     Just, please have a genre preference of some kind ready! I’m really not picky on genres, but that also means it’s very hard for me to choose just one. It’s far, far easier for me to build the tone off what you would be interested in. That is all.

🎼 The cashier of the music store, being asleep, didn't seem to notice that one of the store's patrons was /glowing./ Said patron also didn't seem to realize that there was anyone else in the store- That is, until he looked up from the CD section and locked eyes with Denny. Startled, he froze for a second, before giving a sheepish grin and holding up a fistful of cash that was definitely not stolen from the school's vending machine. " ...Heyyyyy there. I wasn't gonna steal anything, promise. "

     Ironically, Denny may well have been even more startled than Sparky was.

     The young ghost had been eyeing a few CDs in particular, neither of which he could afford. On one hand, a mixture of intangibility, invisibility, and sleight of hand would have solved that problem, but the teen was quite sure that would qualify as ‘an abuse of power.’ He was currently making it a point to be a good Halfa, and part of that involved behaving himself in human establishments.

     However, when his ghost sense went off, Denny knew that he wasn’t the only supernatural guest in the building-- but before he could even locate a good hiding spot... There he was, the spectral stranger who’d set off his built-in alarms. He doesn’t seem that scary, Denny decided. Does he think I’m Danny? That definitely would explain the other’s anxiety.

     “Oh, uh... Hi.” The boy’s uncertain tone was so distinctly different from Phantom’s that, if the look on his face didn’t give him away, that response certainly had to. This definitely was not Amity Park’s local ghostly superhero. “... Okay,” he decided, noticing the money in Sparky’s hand. How did a ghost get money? Denny figured it might be better not to ask. He glanced towards the store clerk who was, thankfully, still sound asleep. Hopefully he’d stay that way for a bit longer.

     “Sorry,” he said quickly, looking a bit embarrassed, “You probably think I’m somebody else. I’m Denny. Danny’s, uh... A relative.” Although they were closer to being twins, the elder Halfa tended to call his clones ‘cousins,’ for reasons that Denny had never been able to determine. So, the teen figured it was probably best to just leave the explanation vague.

It still surprised her, sometimes, remembering that she wasn’t the only clone that survived. She’d spent a long time thinking that there wasn’t anything left to be salvaged. It was nice to be wrong.

That being said, her feelings about the other were… complicated, to say the least. On the one hand, she was elated that at least one of her brothers had survived. On the other, she felt incredibly guilty that it had taken so long to find and stabilize him. And there was a level of awkwardness, too: what did he really think of her, the one that hadn’t really melted at all? The one who put him in his tenuous position in the first place?

So, it was with some hesitancy that she visited him, smiling sheepishly as she approached.

          “Hiya. How y‘holdin’ up? Can I come in?”

     That voice caught the boy off-guard... He was suddenly grateful that, at the moment, he’d happened to be in human form. It still wasn’t much to look at, but the specter had heard his ghost form could be a bit... Disturbing. One rough, worn hand rested on the doorway, a shaggy head peeking around the corner with curious blue eyes wide. As much as his facial structure resembled Danny’s, everything else about him-- from the innocent, slightly nervous expression, to the ragged, faded clothing, to his cautious posture-- couldn’t have been more different.

     “Oh, uh... hi.” It seemed to take the boy a moment to register a question had been asked, then he gave a quick, yet uncertain nod in response. “Um... Sure. Doing alright, I guess. You’re... Dani, right?” The clone offered a faintly nervous but reassuring grin, as though to confirm that there were no hard feelings.

     Maybe Denny didn’t know the other clone very well, but even as awkward and uncomfortable as it all was... He still wanted to try, at least.

        “ Hey, hey, it’s okay, “ Danny exclaimed, crouching down beside him and giving what he hoped was a comforting smile. “ Don’t worry, I’ve been through the exact same thing. It’s gonna be alright. “

        This wasn’t something Danny had considered until now, but now that it was staring him in the face, he felt like an idiot for not worrying about it sooner. Dealing with his ghost powers for the first time had been even tougher than some of the ghosts he’d had to fight. In fact, his ice core had nearly killed him back when his ice powers had started to show themselves. Who knew what Denny was dealing with now, especially with the fear of potential destabilization?

        Luckily, Denny wasn’t covered in ice, so Danny could conclude from that that it wasn’t the same power. Still, from how worried he looked, it seemed like it was definitely a problem. Hopefully, now that Danny was here, they’d be able to figure out a solution. 

         “ So, which power is it? What’s it like, I mean? I’m sure it’s one of the same ones I have, so I bet I’ll be able to give you some tips on controlling it. We’ll figure this out in no time, trust me. “ 

     “I... I-I don’t think... You have this power.” It was a strange response; what sort of an ability would bring that level of certainty? Especially considering how many ghost powers Danny had, it seemed a bit strange that this would be the young clone’s opener. The only notably ‘odd’ detail about the ghost’s appearance was the green glow in his eyes, but that could have been from the stress as much as anything.

     “...It, um...” He seemed to struggled with words again for a moment, then shook his head in frustration. “It’s like, like I’m... Melting again, but not like... Not like before. And it’s only when I’m in ghost form, and, a-and...”

     “It...” Denny’s look of discomfort intensified, as though just thinking back to it made him physically ill. “It’s like... Like...... Acid. Anything it touches, it melts too. I-I can’t even use my ghost form, it just, happens, and I don’t know what it’d do if, if a person touched it, but... B-but I know it wouldn’t be good. I-I don’t want to know.”

      “I-I don’t want to hurt anybody,” he whimpered, pulling up his knees to his chest and hugging them. “I don’t even know what to do... It’s a lot easier getting around like a ghost, but if I can’t get that under control...” All things considered, it wasn’t a shock that this would freak the kid out; aside from the obvious horror of such a dangerous, volatile ability, the end result was perhaps the worst case scenario.

     Until this power was no longer a hazard, Denny couldn’t even go ghost. He’d never been especially comfortable as a human, for several reasons... One being the lack of his other skills, another being how easily he was mistaken for Danny, and the last being the most troubling of all.

     Danny had been a human who became a ghost. The clone, however, had began his existence as a spirit, not a human. For Denny, it was like giving up his true self.

        “ Okay, better question… Why? “

         Seemed it didn’t matter what Denny chose to say, because Danny was worried no matter what. He shut the door behind him, then with a concerned expression on his face, made his way over to the wall his cousin was using his head as a battering ram against. He leaned against the wall beside him, trying his best to seem casual and comforting despite the worry he felt. 

        “ You can talk to me, y’know. What’s going on? “

     “I...” The young clone quivered, then finally drew back from the wall, falling into a sitting position on the carpet with a soft thump. “Something... Something’s wrong with...” He struggled for the words, fumbling briefly.

     “It’s a... New ghost power. I think. I... I-I don’t know.” The boy made a few odd gestures with his hands, as though physically grasping for an explanation. Unfortunately, it didn’t seem to help. “I... I didn’t know where else to go.” That part was the truth, at least. There was only one person Denny trusted for advice, or even trusted in general if he was honest with himself. Even the friendliest of people scared the timid specter; in far too many ways, Danny really was the clone’s only lifeline.

        Danny couldn’t help but feel a twinge of disgust upon hearing his clone’s words. It’s ‘fun?’ He was hurting humanity’s chance of survival because it was ‘fun?’ 

        I really hope he’s joking. 

         “ …Aren’t you a ray of sunshine. “ 

         Denny’s words mirrored the words Danny heard almost every day from the demons in the back of his mind. His insecurities, his fears… That summed up a lot of it. ‘It’s a losing battle. Humanity’s doomed. We’re all going to die.’ These thoughts raced through Danny’s mind every time he witnessed another patrol come back with half its members killed or taken prisoner. When a temporary campsite was destroyed and everyone had to pack up and keep moving before they were destroyed as well. When a shipment of supplies was stolen. 

         However… As terrible as these thoughts were, and as frequently as they plagued his mind, he wouldn’t let them overcome him. Everyone else needed him to be strong. They needed him to play this role, so he’d play it as well as he could. He wouldn’t let himself fall victim to despair, and he’d do what he needed to do to keep humanity afloat.

         …And that meant dealing with the pesky halfa that kept messing with their supplies.

         “ I’m sorry, but you’re wrong. Things may look bad, but that doesn’t mean it’s over. If we just give up… What do we do then? Just let ourselves die? That’s not an option. 

         Besides… Being a pessimist doesn’t excuse being a thief. If you don’t want to join us, fine, but you can’t keep actively sabotaging us. You need to stop. “ 

     The spirit’s gaze was stern for a long moment, perhaps even fierce... There was something dangerous in his eyes, a jagged glint like light sparking off the edge of broken glass. There was an unspoken warning there, and the truth was... With how many rumors drifted around about the clone, no one could be entirely certain what powers he even had.  Furthermore, a violent confrontation risked destroying the very supplies that Danny had presumably come to retrieve... This was a precarious situation, to say the least.

     However, the younger halfa’s demeanor seemed to fade once again, that mask of disinterest and faint amusement returning once again. Maybe he didn’t want to risk a fight, either.

     “And then what, I get to starve to death too? It’s slim pickings in the ruins these days. Trust me, been there, done that. I cleaned out every scrap of food from there long before I started messing with your ‘Resistance.’” He shrugged a bit, grinning smugly. “If you don’t want your shipments swiped, maybe don’t let them tromp through the middle of the forest like a bunch of charging elephants? If it wasn’t me, it was gonna be somebody else.”

     That... Seemed almost like a tip? It was certainly phrased in the most condescending and irritating way imaginable, but he had a point; if Denny could track them down that easy, who was to say the other ghosts and bandits out there couldn’t do the same?

     “… Maybe,” came the initial answer, almost automatically; Denny had paused mid-thump, probably about to do it again. “Uh… I mean, no,” the ghost amended, deciding better of it. “Yes?” Apparently he wasn’t totally sure how to deal with this question, especially considering who it was coming from. Was it better to worry him, or to try and cover it up and probably fail miserably? Both options sounded pretty bad.

     “… Yes,” admitted the young Halfa finally, pressing his forehead to the wallpaper again with a rough sigh. It was odd enough to spot the teen in human form, let alone beating his head against the wall in Danny’s room. Just what was going on here?

     “Uh…” There was no good answer to this question, considering either response would undoubtedly lead to even further inquiry. “No?” the young Halfa responded, in spite of the very obvious redness on his forehead, which was still pressed against the rough stone bricks. He squinted slightly at the figure; normally he’d just turn intangible and drop through the concrete, but the teen just wasn’t really feeling it right now.

     Denny didn’t really expect to actually fool anybody, but he could try.
