R-a-y b-a-n glasses anniversary, only this day!
" Passed away…?? " It took him a moment, but he quickly realized that this probably was not his home. This was some kind of heaven. He died and this is where people like him ended up. Gauche hadn’t even realized he died. " You’re not really making any sense, but I suppose most who pass away don’t—, " Was he even making sense? " So..what is this place? "
Oh, did the guy really thing that they were both dead? Julian concluded that despite their near-identical appearances, their mental capacities differed greatly. Either that, or this doppelganger came from an alternative universe. "I apologize if I caused any confusion, but you are not dead. This is the United States of America, sir. I am assuming you are very lost." He leaned forward in a yawn. Talking was tiring. "Mind if I inquire where you are from?" Meaning, which country was so secluded to have citizens like this?
" Say, were you born with that, or am I just seeing things? " He’s talking about the hair respectively, and just about everything else aside from the other man’s voice.
He canted his head, drawing out a long, monotonous hum before he answered, "I am uncertain of the specifics, but I think my hair only turned white after I passed away. Everything else is relatively genuine."
" I don’t know if I should be mildly concerned…or impressed. "
"Come again?" Julian was being a little shit; he knew exactly what the stranger was talking about.
" It wasn’t so much that I was doing nothing, " The entity began, a laugh falling from his lips as he voiced himself, " There was a lot going on, I just didn’t have much part in it. If I did, I didn’t have much of a choice. I’m more than happy to have the choices provided to me this day and age, " The abyss provided in confinement was what sheltered him. It protected False throughout the years, and kept him safe—though the same couldn’t be said for those who had been rather unlucky to come across the locket in the past. He counted himself blessed, to slowly have the chance to believe that he was going to be able to be more than just a mirror image. It was a chance he never thought he’d have.
" Would you be upset if I said yes? " Came the joke, after all, there was much more that he was willing to do. And sure, maybe they’d both get their fair share of stares for the day, but none of that mattered to False at the moment. He was more than grateful to even be here at all, to the point where he turned on the tip of his boot to face Julian, " I want to try out the strange contraption over there, " False concluded, pointing in the direction of an empty swing set.
He canted his head as he listened, nearly tipping over to his side with the gesture. It was a miracle that he caught himself in mid-stumble before straightening his posture and speaking, "Perhaps not nothing, but I am assuming it was not nearly as pleasant as paying a visit to the park. Just, mention if you would like to do anything in the future, alright?" False's description of his time before being found by Julian were vague at best, though the parasite had no intent to dig deeper unless the other decided to explain. For now, he was content with being fed a constant supply of energy and earning a companion--one that was too patient and considerate with him, really. The jest earned a puff of air that one would have difficulty deciphering as a breathy bit of laughter. A gloved hand pressed against his lips prevented any more monotonous chuckles from spilling out, and he turned to see the so-called contraption False was pointing towards. He blinked, almost in confusion that an item he thought to be normal could be considered strange. False really didn't get to experience much. "Ah, you mean the swings. I find them relaxing--come on." The parasite didn't even think to complain as he bounded towards them, stopping in front of the seat to throw a question to False. "Would you rather sit or push?" It hadn't occurred to him that the other might not understand the purpose of the inquiry when he didn't know what swings even were.
" You really don’t have to do much, I have remained within this void for more years than you have breathed. It would be no different, " He expressed, his voice growing quiet as he continued to speak, remaining in the dark abyss the locket provided as he pondered over the words he just spoke. False truly wasn’t that selfless, but he couldn’t bring himself to diverge from the bond forged when Julian picked up the locket for the first time. He could feel the other’s discomfort seep into bones that didn’t quite exist, aware that the discomfort was more based on the parasite’s laziness. Still, he didn’t wish to be the reason Julian felt any sort of way that was in the negative regard—even though the other wasn’t susceptible to feeling much of anything. And yet? When they reached the destination, the mirage wasted no time in reemerging from the piece of jewelry. Eyes widened, boots tapping against the cement sidewalk as he inched closer, ” So this is what it feels like to be surrounded by trees. “
"...That sounds ridiculously dull. Years worth of time spent doing nothing--I guess I need to take you to places more often to make up for lost time. That should make some sort of dent in your years of existence, right?" It was a spur of the moment comment, though, he had never given much thought to how long False had been cooped up in the locket for. Or even to the dated appearance of the other's clothes. If he had the willpower to pick himself off the ground, he made a mental note to ask the older being about other places he would like to visit. As much as it screamed against his natural desire to sleep away his hours--he couldn't expect False to do the same. The poor guy spent enough time as it was in the void of the locket. It only fueled the flicker of desire at the other's expression. If that was the reaction he'd have every time they went anywhere beside an alleyway, it would be worth the all grumbling and walking. His lips twitched into the faintest smile, though the monotony to his voice didn't change. "Did you drag me out here just to look at some trees?" Sarcasm was a bit difficult to convey when one put little intonation in his speech ever, but he was just poking fun.

Eyes narrowed at the other male, the bond they were bound into having alerting him to the other’s change in attitude. He knew it was coming, he hadn’t even gotten his hopes up. After all, it wasn’t like False needed to go anywhere. He just never really got a chance to /go anywhere/. He finally felt free, yet contained all at the same time. Not to say he didn’t mind, but there were moments where he wished he could do more than stay tied to the energy of a locket that he couldn’t even put his hands on. In the end, he almost felt bad for having said anything, Julian’s comfort was a priority. And yet, before he could say anything, the parasite was off. Though he was moving at a speed most elderly human beings probably could beat in record time, he was still moving. It didn’t take False long to transport himself back into the confinement of the piece of jewelry obscured by the younger’s scarf.
" You really don’t have to do anything for me, you know, " Fake spirits didn’t really get entitled to as much as he did.
His reaction time was as slow as ever, causing him to come to a stop when the other disappeared from sight. He swiveled his head around with as much speed as he had ever mustered before realizing False had returned to the locket. Almost out of instinct, he reached under the folds of his scarf to make sure the item was still hanging around his neck. One gentle tap of his gloved finger against the metal was enough to reassure himself. As tempted as he was to sit right back down to nap, especially with that sort of response from False, he knew better than to give in to his lethargy. He didn't need to do anything, but it didn't mean that he shouldn't try to make his friend smile, at the expense of some unneeded sleep. "But you seemed very delighted by the idea of going--and I would think that your wishes matter just as much as mine do," he dipped his head down to speak into his scarf, or really, to the locket. In realizing his lack of speed, he let out a defeated sigh and began to actually pick up his feet in an average pace. And in seeing the place, he had further incentive to walk faster. "Destination reached. It is preferable to enjoy parks in person, yes?" Luckily, there weren't any people present to gawk at the homeless man that was seemingly talking to himself.
Collapses on the nearest person.
It was alarming False a bit to see Julian move as much as he was. Walking more than a few feet at time wasn’t his new found companion’s strong point, much less shifting from a laying position to an upright one. Though, he understood why the younger creature was doing this, and it brought a smile to his face. Despite the off putting lack of emotion in the taller man’s voice, he couldn’t help but express gratitude in his own. " Well, there’s this park not far from here! And I’ve been wanting to go for a while now but I didn’t really want to bother you about it, " False admitted, rubbing the back of his neck sheepishly.
When hearing the request, he nearly wanted to collapse on the ground with a groan and return to his constant state of hibernation. Even the thought of having to walk out of this alleyway was unappealing to the parasite. He was content with staying here longer if he could sleep the entire time, but in his laziness, he had also kept the other confined to the nearby areas. It wouldn't be fair to keep False from the park--and he didn't have the excuse of not having energy anymore to refrain from moving. With his best attempt at adding enthusiasm to his voice and a barely noticeable nod, he said, "Since you said it is not too far--I think I can walk there with you. Parks are exciting, I suppose." Julian began shuffling forward at a pace even snails would laugh at. He probably didn't even notice how slow he was going--
" Not really…, " Well, it had False excited, but he knew the parasite all too well for the most part at this point. To the point where he could feel his bitterness over /getting up/, " Aside from the remnants of the lamp post collapsing. "
He may have lost a lot after his death, but his perception on emotions wasn't one of them or spotting a poorly constructed excuse. After a moment of mental debate, he mumbled,"...False, if would like something, you should say so." Stifling a yawn, he grudgingly pushed himself to his feet and shuffled his way to False. It was the least he could do for moving as little as he did for so long.
" Nothing, I just got a little excited, " Until he realized the nearest park was literally too far for him to go by himself.
Sluggish movements brought him from leaning against the wall to sitting upright. He almost regretted using that much effort. "Is there anything exciting in the vicinity?"
The park is too far.
Makes a soft grunt. "--What is the matter?"

" It’s fine, no need to apologize. Drunk or not, I know what I am. And I’m a very gorgeous man. Just be happy I didn’t rip your eyes out for touching my hair, " False didn’t mind being haughty about himself, though his appearance was basically made up to fit a certain individual he couldn’t stand for reasons not applicable to this situation, " Well, I was stuck here, you know, painting at all, " The mirage explained briefly, leaning against the nearby wall, " Even then, can’t totally abandon a friend that ended up passed out, flat on his ass right after, right? "
"Well, looks like someone is not lacking in self-confidence. You did not need a tipsy man to tell you anything. On the off chance that I touch your hair again--if I recall correctly, you gave me permission to do so--feel free to tear out my eyes. They will grow back." Julian flashed a smile, nonchalantly addressing the threat. It was another reminder that he wasn't entirely human, capable of regenerating body parts and healing injuries with time and a lot of energy. The parasite was always partial to wavy hair--but thinking about who also fit the category just made his empty heart ache. "How noble of you, even if you could not move from your spot. I feel like I owe you something for always helping me."
" There’s a level of dumb and I think you kind of passed it, though at least no one tried to pickpocket you while you were laying out on the floor, " That’s probably because he looked like a hobo, that also meant that False wasn’t about to risk injury for the parasite.
"I will admit, that was not the smartest decision I have made. I apologize for the... Comments I made yesterday." Unfortunately, everything he had done and said were engraved clearly in his memory. If he cared, he would be too embarrassed to speak to the other. "Even if they tried, there is nothing to take? Thank you for looking after me, though."
"And this is why you do not get drunk, kids." The energy was still lingering in his system, but at least he could think clearly now.
