QUINCY VIDAL

This New York based duo has got a sound that’s refreshingly old-school. Incorporating jazz into their rap, they’re doing the same thing that I see the public praising Kendrick Lamar for. And for good reason, coherent and sound lyrics that match the grove you’re rocking to, is much better than ‘beat fetishism’. And they do more than give you a straightforward rap album; they’re genre bending, ‘Rashee’s Interlude’ is what I’d call pure poetry. Choosing one song to showcase these guys was hell.
