I finally understood what true love meantâŚlove meant that you care for another personâs happiness more than your own, no matter how painful the choices you face might be.

â  whatever it is, it wasnât me!  â
it was probably bad that this was becoming a regular occurrence in the greene residence. this time though sheâs pretty sure she hasnât done anything to anger her mom too badly. not lately anyway.
beneath this low darkened sky my heart is there with you; together we will journey. Â arms to waist we shoulder each otherâs pain, carry each otherâs weight. Â until such a day one weary heart rises to see the sun again, and pulls the other into the light. Â / Â quote.
I donât know if youâre looking at me with what? Sadness? Scorn? Pity? Love? Maybe itâs just indifference. I guess you already know Iâm not much of a believer. I guess I just chose to put my faith elsewhere. My family, mostly. My friends. My job. The thing is, we⌠I could use a little something to help keep us going. Some kind of⌠acknowledgment. Some indication Iâm doing the right thing. You donât know how hard that is to know. Well, maybe you do. Hey look, I donât need all the answers. Just a little nudge. A sign. Any sign will do.

â iâm sure myrcella will grow fond of you, sheâs much kinder than she may first let on.  â   he assured her, a small nod given to support his words.  myrcella was more than kind, really, but only when you treated her as so.  she was a LIONESS still, sharp teeth && claws both.  but taken opinion on first glance && conversation so far, tommen felt safe to say troubles would not occur if she were as capable as she was cordial.  perhaps they may be one day FRIENDS, as he hoped to have in days where dullness && lonesome irked him more than he could truly bear.
however, face of an older lioness crossed his thoughts of the notions of friends.  in honesty, tommen did not mind status of any other as long as they were kind && with light heart, but mother would disagree.  time && time again would she try to hammer belief of superiority of the lion && stagâs name over any other, but it hardly, if never, truly been taken to heart.  people were people.
â my Lady, youâre not troubling me at all, really.  books are wonderful, yes, but iâd take the kind company of an actual person over the presence of a good book,â   he confessed, arm gesturing her to sit in a seat on the side of the table.  cordial smile still graced his lips as he took a seat. Â
if what he was informed of was correct, she came from somewhere in northern lands.  he had only seen the north through words of others && books alike, && illustrations.  but live words were gone too soon, only visiting kingâs landing for a short while.  so the presence of another who lived most of life in such a place intrigued him.  he noted her sudden sheepishness && only huffed a little more lightly to show his amusement.  not many were intimidated by him in truth, but perhaps lannister gold hair was enough to stun most.  perhaps they will grow into good friends.
â youâre from the north, correct? how is it compared to kingâs landing so far, Lady Sophia?,â  Â
accepting the princes unspoken offer to sit, sophia carefully collected the skirts of her dress and perched gracefully â or at least as graceful as the still somewhat gangly limbed fourteen-year-old was able â knowing that even with hundreds of leagues between her and home, a chiding would still be given if she were to slip in propriety. at least the prince did seem kind enough to have her the tenseness leave her shoulders, with most people of higher station sophia was ordinarily a nervous mess, second guessing each action and the potential fallback on her family.
his words about the princess do help to set her more at ease. admittedly she had prepared herself for the worst case scenario, a spoiled girl with no desire to treat her new handmaiden as anything more than another servant. worries ( mostly ) alleviated, the stiffness of her practiced smile slips into something more genuine, and a tad shy.  â  i look forward to meeting her, i hope we can be friends. the three of us. i-if you wish that is your grace. i donât mean to overstep.  â  fingers curl tightly into balls on her lap to stop herself from hiding her face in her palms in embarrassment for her hastily uttered and stammering excuse at her offer of friendship.Â
â  in truth i am not quite sure what to think of it. kingâs landing is unlike anything i have come across before, iâve seen things from lands iâve only read about before. it is just ...  â  as interesting as she finds the people and way of life here, she still pines for the peaceful beauty of the snow capped mountains of home, of sitting by the warm hearth under the blanket her mother had hand stitched while carrying her. weighing her words carefully as to avoid accidentally paying insult to his home, her lip worried between her teeth as she searches for what to say.  â  i am perhaps simply missing home. everything is so bright in the capital, it can be a lot to take in. and i have never experienced days as warm as this, but as this is to be my home now, iâm sure it will not take me long to settle in.  â

SUPPLIES WERE RUNNING low, food becoming scarce & water more-so.  but runs needed to be quick, less to alert walkers, hoards, & scavengers alike.  less could be carried than an outing with everyone but it worked; it had been days without incident & longer without run-ins with other survivors.  it shouldnât have been a surprise to elena how selfish humanity became.  fighting for themselves, scrounging territory for anything to call their own  â  it should have come to even less of a surprise that she & her company have adopted the same mentality.  while never hostile, only wary, upon meeting others, it was a risk, a chance she always hated to make.  sheâs seen a lot, but nothing like this.  & on solo runs, the paranoia of survival was only heightened.
GAS STATIONS WERE easy pickings.  unfortunately, she was not the only one to think so.  easy pickings were slim pickings.  some non-perishables, and simple supplies left missed on shelves were now stowed in pack, & she perused the isles for more.  the sound of shuffling & movement interrupted her, setting her heart into a heavy beat.  defensive  â  act first & give yourself a better chance;  she drew her weapon out of instinct, & rounded a corner ready for scavenger or walker.
â  oh  â  !  jessus,  â  she immediately dropped her stance, staring a child in the eye.  head shaking, she exhaled heavily.  a hand ran through blonde hair, long & mostly knotted into a sloppy bun.   â  oh, crap, iâm sorry.  i wasnât expecting a kid.  you here alone?   âÂ
still visibly shaken, hands slowly drop to curl into the material of her threadbare jacket. nerves wracked at not only being confronted by a weapon but a stranger, she can only nod her head at the womans question, limp blonde hair skirting over her shoulders. each day her hope of finding her mama and the rest of the group dwindled, coming to accept that she was in fact alone now. never having been truly alone before, the isolation was not sitting well with her.
weight shifting awkwardly from foot to foot, sophia thought over her options; take a chance on the woman who looked nice enough, or turn tail and run? catching sight of a few cans in the womans pack she almost blurted out the question of whether or not she could tag along, even if just for the night in hopes of a meal and somewhere safe to sleep, but she held her tongue. truth was sophia had always been taught by her mama to trust adults, but she wasnât entirely sure if she could anymore. she wanted to, but it was hard. especially after some of the things sheâd seen people do since the outbreak.  â  are you alone too?  â Â
eyes skipped around the store, she couldnât see or hear anyone else â something she really should have checked before running in â but that didnât mean for sure the two of them were alone. more people could either be a good thing or a bad one, sophia guessed  it depended on what they were like.
PSA.    if  you  ever  write  me  a  starter,   i  will  like  it  as  soon  as  i  see  it  before  drafting  it.    so  if  i  never  reply  to  it   &   i  never  liked  it,   itâs  because  i  didnât  see  it.   i  swear  iâd  never  leave  a  starter  hanging,    but  thereâs  a  lot  of  things  i  donât  see  until  way  later   &  i  donât  want  people  to  think  theyâre  wasting  their  time  when  really  iâm  probably  dying  to  see  your  starter   &  just  never  did.  Â
january 8th, 2017 marks exactly one year since the mysterious disappearance of lizzie and mika samuels. the two girls were staying with a group of friends on blackwood mountain for the weekend when the oldest sister ( lizzie ) reportedly started ranting and ran outside. her sister mika followed and when friends went to look for them sometime later, neither were to be found. a coordinated effort was mounted to search for the girls but authorities were unable to find any trace.
speculation broke out that perhaps one or more of the remaining teens could have been responsible for the disappearance. police investigated but no evidence was discovered that corroborated this theory. both girls are still officially listed as missing.

THE RULES
no ooc drama, start shit and i will ask you to leave the group
open to any fandoms
youâll have to follow the tag verse: your actions have consequences since everything will be posted there.
i am asking for bios to be added once youâre accepted. enough to give everyone in the group an idea of who your character is, what their backstory is, and how they fit in.
plotting between members is highly encouraged! figure out how your characters backstories fit together, how they meet, how they feel about everyone else. please try to make everyone in the group feel welcome!
this is a pretty contained verse. outside of the main group there can be one or two people on the mountain hunting the wendigo, but thatâs about it.
this verse only takes from the wendigo part of udâs storyline. there wasnât a prank or one of the characters trying to get revenge for mika and lizzie. only the wendigo and thinking the person hunting the wendigo is trying to kill the group.
(HOW DID YOU SURVIVE?) they ask. how much did they have you bleed; how long did they make you suffer; how low did they force you down; how dark did they tint your dreams? Â Â âuntil you had their blood glistening on your teeth; Â Â âuntil your suffering paled in comparison to their own; Â Â âuntil it was their throats pinned under your boot; Â Â âuntil you learned to enjoy the sounds of screams. Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â (I DIDNâT.) you reply.

A beat passed. And then two. And then maybe three or four as the blonde tried to process the other girlâs words. Right. Yeah, sheâd seen some CRAZY things in her time, but this had to take the cake. Caroline licked her lower lip, squinting her eyes a bit further as if she could detect any trace of LYING on Sophiaâs face. âZombies,â She repeated, arching an eyebrow, refusing to believe it. âThatâs your thing? ZOMBIES?â
â Â well i mean, the people i was with called them walkers, but basically. yeah. Â â Â honestly sheâs just surprised this place hasnât been hit. even stranger that no one in town seems to know. sure the outbreak had started further south, but wasnât the news talking about what had happened? even if a cure had been found, thereâs no way it all could have been covered up. right? a distressed frown set in at the thought. maybe that meant her mom was still out there? itâd been a few weeks since sheâd come across anyone else, could be she was just out of the loop. Â â Â you really havenât heard about any of this? atlanta being bombed? everyone being told to evacuate? Â â
@jssenid, @kidgrimcs, @onere, @battingbeauty should i just make the un/til da/wn group already?
