“A venue!? My pockets aren’t dripping with money to have something like that. You really must think I am that wealthy– but in the end, it’s the time you spend with your date that counts, not the destination– right!?”

She’s feeling the competition is too great.

Why settle for shopping at a small shopping mall when you can shop in fashion central? Why a day out in town when you can have a weekend sailing round the southern isles?

When you’re Atobe Keigo, you don’t have standards. You are the standards.

[ ☩ ] - Impressive to say the least..! How he was able to fight back against Erza’s attacks like that was quite impressive considering her own ogre like strength. But he did so with so much room for movement, wasting no such against her. It was thrilling to say the least to have such an opponent for a brand new sport.

[ ☩ ] - But she still wouldn’t count on it enough for it to surpass her quite yet. Watching as the ball made its way across the court as she prepared a different type of swing. it would be tricky, but she’d watch as it flied across the middle of the court. Just as it began to pass over the middle line did Erza rush for it, reeling her arm back and attempting a rather sudden spike into his side of the court with all her strength.

Her movements were large in comparison to some of the opponents he had fought, and there was little difficulty in seeing which direction she was hitting the ball in. What was less expected, however, was how heavy her shot had been. Though Atobe had been there in time to intercept the ball, he found that he could not return the shot.

His racket was knocked out of grip, clattering to the ground behind him, his right hand tingling from the sheer force of it. Her shot had been strong earlier, but it seemed that hadn’t been the last of it.

“Not bad, ahn? That’s your point, mesuneko-chan.”

This woman really was something special. He actually smiled from the thought of the match that lay ahead of him as he returned to serving position. His next serve was still a rather normal fast ball. There was plenty of time to calmly assess the situation.

               To even have flowers left came as a great shock to him when it had felt as though the flood of children was never-ending, but that wasn’t a problem at all. Handing flowers out to eager kids was no different from handing out candies just as he used to, a fact which was actually nostalgic in a way, the brightness of his features as he thought of it clear to anyone who took a moment to look his way.  He wasn’t aware of it, but he had been smiling about the entire time, an occurrence so common there hadn’t been pain in his cheeks to signify such a thing in years.

               With a quick turn, petals fluttering from the basket and to his feet, Yogi decided to find a shaded place for him to relax a bit before picking his activity back up. In almost the same moment he lifted his gaze to focus, he noticed Atobe of all people (once again), which only gave him half a shock as really, Yogi thought he might have glanced at him earlier. But that gave no restraint to the burst of excitement he felt, and with a single prolonged declaration of Atobe’s name, he came dashing over.

               Coming to a stop a few feet before him, Yogi bent a moment to catch his breath then lifted his head and smiled, the vivid gold of his hair the usual perfect fit to his joyful expression, even under the shade.

               “Atobe-san! I thought you might be here somewhere! It’s really nice here, isn’t it?” Without waiting for a response, he straightened, shifting his basket to his other hand and lifting it where Atobe could see inside.  “Would you like a flower? All the ones that fit you most are gone, but these are really pretty, too!” he exclaimed, tucking a stray strand of hair behind his ear with the hand now freed. He had to tilt the basket slightly to keep the wind from blowing what he had left out, but somehow he was more nervous about looking messy in front of his might-as-well-be-boss above anything else.

The enthusiasm with which the blond had come dashing over, and the warmth that he greets Atobe with, these are all things that the king has come to grow used to. It’s certainly pleasant, never crossing a line that some fangirls do, so he takes no discomfort from the affections of the other. In many ways, Atobe counted Yogi amongst his friends, whether within the city or including those outside the city.

He would not laud this place as being amongst the most spectacular he’d seen, but it certainly was more enjoyable than most of this city. The offer of a flower from the other was characteristic, but it was his radiant smile that, especially now when it was here and directed at him, added colour to the scenery.

Atobe allowed the bemused smile to linger on his lips even as he responded to the other’s greeting, “This place? It’s not bad at all. And save the flowers for the children, ahn? Ore-sama has no need of such things, and they certainly enjoy receiving them from you enough.”

Closing his book and putting it aside, his hands came to rest on his outstretched legs even as eyebrows furrowed slightly in query, his smile remaining on his lips.

“Have you had the opportunity to enjoy the festival, or have you been far too busy with your giving?”

“You know what they say about moles being potential symptoms to skin cancer? It’s not exactly what you’d call charming.”

“Ah, you’re talking about that? Only a small amount of moles actually become cancer, you know. Ore-sama has had this beauty mark since birth, and it hasn’t changed since. I assure you, it’s not cancerous.”

Operation Cover-up | Chrome

Ever since she and her Boss had reached to the rank of citizens, Chrome had decided to make phone covers for him. Though, with the time in her hands and considering how she thought herself a little selfish for doing this, she decided to make a matching case of her own with Tsuna’s. 

Kyoko and Haru had gotten Chrome interested in designing phone accessories since she had moved to the younger Sasagawa’s household for the time being. They had shown her quite a lot of DIY videos to make their own accessories. Even if Chrome never had a phone, they still took on the task of making their own special designs and if she ever had a phone of her own, she would be able to use the case she had made with Kyoko and Haru. 

That said case had been tucked in her bag back in Kokuyo Land and she had given up on any thought of her getting it back. Her heart broke a little just from the thought of it. The hobby continued even after she moved back and within a short amount of time, her skills had improved. She had used this opportunity by designing the matching cases between her and Tsuna’s as a special present for him. 

Once Haru had arrived in Hive City, she hoped that she wouldn’t get an earful of her jealous screeching for having cases with Tsuna. 

Chrome had travelled all the way over from Sector Six to Sector Four to get a hold of the final pieces to be put on to her cases. It was still a work in progress. In fact, she had thought that the cases in itself looked fine but there’s still room for improvement, of course. Getting what she needed, she peeked through her bag and counted whatever might be missing. She didn’t even realize where she was going until she had bumped in to someone in the process.

“I’m so sorry…!” Her mind cluttered, she bowed to the stranger in apology and scrambled on to the floor to collect her things. At least the stranger decided to help. Her heart began to race for the thought of the things she had bought had been stepped on in to pieces. 

“Oh, um.. They kind of are… I guess?” She hung her head in embarrassment, accepting back the fallen supplies.

The girl’s answer had been noted with some interest, though barely noticeable on his features. Atobe was a man who strongly believed in meriting the strengths of others, and there was potential for this particular talent which his business acumen had spotted immediately.

But first, a judge of character was the order of the day. After all, only a fool would commit to a partnership with someone of poor integrity. And naturally, his insight would see right through her.

Folding his arms with a casual air, his smile was confident but not intimidating. “That’s awfully vague, mesuneko-chan. But no matter. ore-sama is sure the recipient will appreciate such a sincere gesture, ahn?” Eyes casually glance at her face, easily taking in the expression that displays.

“Is this only for that one special person, or would you take requests for other customisations? Ore-sama might have a need of such talent.” There’s even a slightly amused tone when he teases her about the one who is to receive the matching case, but no mocking when he adds his interest in commissioning her.

It’s hard to miss the shock that crosses her features. Atobe did have a reasoning in his words. She was surprised that someone whom she just met could be so kind and uplifting with her. It was then that she decided to become friends with him.

“You really think so?” she giggles, trying to suppress her smile. She found this whole situation to be sort of silly considering how they just met. “I guess there is no harm in trying a few sports myself, though I do like watching them most of the time. For the muscles of course. ”

The delight on the girl’s face is pleasant, and although Atobe closes his eyes, his slightly upturned lips speak depths of his approval in her attitude.

“Perhaps you would find one that suits you in a surprising place, ahn? If you desire, ore-sama would be willing to teach you some basics of tennis.” And after a slight pause, a simple enquiry. “And your name, mesuneko-chan?”

Like I can see him watching artsy films with porn scenes included, and I don’t see him judging someone negatively for watching porn, but I feel like he’d place himself above it personally. Like he has too much pride to watch porn just to jerk off?

Operation Cover-up | Chrome

With the time of his plan’s execution ever approaching, Atobe saw it as prudent to set some time aside to gather various materials, and on this occasion found himself in Sector 4, looking upon the knick knacks that hung, each with its own cultural flavour.

This street was moderately packed, and it was inevitable that even with smooth maneuvering, Atobe eventually came to bump into someone a fair bit shorter than him, causing the trinkets she was holding to scatter in the process.

Immediately, he bent, helping to gather the girl’s belongings before they were stepped on, pulling two rather striking designs from in front of a stranger’s feet just before they were stepped on, and upon straightening to hand them back to her, realised they were supposed to be customised phone covers. The other art supplies she’d dropped made sense then.

“You have ore-sama’s apologies for that accident. I trust I’ve gotten everything, ahn?” And then, with a thoughtful look to his handsome features, he fiddled with his fringe with one hand while gesturing at the things the girl held.

“Those are rather well-done. Is that a hobby of yours?”

[ ☩ ] - Those were the eyes of a fighter. More so was her energy almost at its peak from the adrenaline rush of participating in something she was only starting to understand, and to already be met with a rather strong opponent. It was almost exhilarating in its own sense, if not still uncomfortable from the new means of fighting, it was something she would quickly get accustomed to for the sake of providing an equal challenge. 

[ ☩ ] - Almost like a blur would she watch his swing, watching the ball fly at her at almost alarming speeds. Like a camera shutter would her movements follow frame by frame, her swing would come just as fast as the ball would fly at her, though this time, she seemed to have an understanding of what to do. 

[ ☩ ] - With her swing now curved upward, she’d return the ball with an almost underhand swing, hidden under the guise of a forward with the ball looking to fly high upwards only to come back down at Atobe, forcing a different kind to come back at. 

“ Then for calling me worthy, I’ll gladly return the compliment spoken through my actions! “

The scarlet haired woman’s return was true to her aim this time, which was all within Atobe’s observations. She was, after all, naturally talented with instincts honed on a field of battled that was much harsher than sports, if her armor and the manner in which she carried herself was any hint.

A step back was all it took to position himself as the ball descended, racket held at the ready before he moved, throwing his weight into a powerful cross-court shot shot, aimed deep toward the baseline. No more words was exchanged presently; for the moment their tennis would suffice.

The ball shot through the air, straight and true, almost as if a reflection of his nobility.

♔——The clutch of familiar faces she’d rekindled pleasantries with at the festival elevated the Khaleesi to high spirits. In particular, that of someone Daenerys oft wished to spend more time with ensuing their unusual affairs during the Valentine’s epidemic. 

It was a surprise to see him absent female company of any kind flocking feverishly around his personal space, though a welcome convenience for her. Cup of fine China balanced on a small tea plate in hand, she’d not hesitated to float over and spark idle chatter; advancing from behind until a proximity was reached that didn’t require her to raise voice.

❝You should try the Jasmine Pearl.❞ She suggested, peering over his shoulder.

❝The honeyed undertone is quite exquisite.❞

Familiar was the voice that spoke from behind, and while Atobe had hardly expected it, his composure was never broken even as he turned to face the woman he knew to find.

He had mixed feelings toward this one, whose self-carriage was stately but who reminded him of unbecoming behaviour on his part. Fawning on a lady like that! He had sent her flowers and apologised for the poor show, but the memory still made him wince.

He did quite like her as she was though, and graciously he accepted her suggestion, lifting the delicate cup of china to his lips.

An approving smile came to his lips as the subtle tones spread on his tongue.

“Exquisite indeed. This blend especially has a fragant aroma without being overpowering, ahn?”

               Yogi froze and suddenly felt heavy, his heart twisting at Atobe’s response. He seemed annoyed, and while he couldn’t tell by his expression, the voice and words were enough. Uncomfortably he shifted, not knowing what to say. He didn’t mean to sound as though it was Atobe’s fault or that being near him was awful; the situation was just embarrassing and he’d rather run away, and he especially wanted to do so now.

               “N-No, ah… I’m sorry. I don’t dislike being around you, I didn’t mean it that way…” he finally stated, biting at his lip. “It’s just… It’s not something I ever thought would happen, so it shocked me… But you’re right, it’s only an accident. I’m sorry for overreacting.” Though knowing it would hardly be seen, he forced a smile despite how he felt. Why he felt so guilty, he wasn’t exactly sure, though he guessed some of it was due to the fact he thought one wrong move could make Atobe retract any positive thoughts he had before.

Hesitance was evident in the blond’s voice, and told Atobe of what his eyes couldn’t see. There was the slightest sigh, soft and difficult to catch, and meant for himself rather than the other.

Perhaps he had been hasty in his harshness. It had, after all, just taken place, and beliefs were not so easily changed. A chance, and some time, would only be fair.

Navy eyes were closed momentarily before a graceful step forward was taken, a reassuring hand laid upon the blond’s soft hair for an instant before arms were once again folded.

“Oi, Yogi. Do you not know by now that ore-sama is hardly so petty to judge you based on something as petty as this? But ore-sama apologises for the shock it has given you. I will make up for it, after the lights come back on, ahn? Just remember that it is nothing more than an accident, so there’s absolutely nothing to worry about.”

”Have I ever tried playing myself? No.. I don’t have time. Before coming here I was focused on school and the swim club. I used to be in a club but I gave it up long ago.”  She felt slight regret. If only she had free time then she would of played some sports she was interested in. Maybe she could of been great like her friends.  “I probably wouldn’t be good anyways, I sucked at gym class.”

Of course, Atobe understood fully that not everyone was apt at sports. That attitude, however, received a slight frown.

“So quick to put yourself so low, ahn? There’s no merit in giving up without trying. Only those who have tried to their utmost can say for certain.”

The red head looks up at her current idol with concerned eyes, wondering why he had a sudden change in mood. He seemed a bit bothered. At first she thought it was because of her, and then she realized that it was probably the fan girls that were following him around. Right! That must be it. She was convinced that that was the issue at hand. If it was possible her eyes would of shone with even more fondness for the man.

“I live in district five right now. I used to be below district two! It’s a huge living change I tell you that. Where do you live Atobe-sama?” She rambles on in a rush of excitement and adoration. These bugs were really messing with her mind.

She felt a bit confident. Maybe she should bake him cookies or make supper that can be shared by them both. Would it be considered a date? Were they just friends? These kept repeating in Kou’s mind over and over again like a broken record. She wanted to be more than friends right at that moment. Sadly, this was only the effects of the bug invasion.

It was fortunate then, that her quarters were somewhere within the district they were standing in, for while he would have had escorted her to her house without hesitation, the thought of a potentially long train ride with the girl in her current state was eminently undesirable. For while the king was accustomed to attention, he too desired moments of privacy, especially from fawning girls whose affections bordered on shallow reasons.

Of course, he understood that circumstances were beyond the redhead’s choosing, and suspected even that she might not be too pleased at all once she had returned to her senses. He did not fault her for this, for to do so would be unreasonable. But that hardly meant he had to enjoy it, seeing a girl he actually had some measure of respect for behaving in such an uncharacteristic manner.

“The apartment complex, I assume? Ore-sama’s apartment is in district 1. It’s acceptable, for the present.”

He indulged a little with his response even as he exited the alleyway and led the way toward the towering apartment.

But other than that, I think I’ve finally caught up more or less with the huge backlog I let build up on all 3 of my characters when I procrastinated for a bit.
