“Mm, yeah but they’re all busy right now.”

Nagisa wasn’t sure if he preferred things quiet around the house when he was in a not-so-great mood or not. The privacy and alone time was nice and healthy but it also came with a side order of feeling a bit more lonely.

“Hozuki-kun is working and Daylen and Nami-chan are doing their own things. But it’s okay! It means we have the place to ourselves for now!”

He plopped a bowl of corn chips onto the table with a smaller bowl of salsa, looking fairly proud of his ‘meal’ despite what little work actually went into it. Or perhaps he was pleased to finish up his preparations for their sleepover: many pillows were piled to the side of the couch ready to be made into a fort and a stack of specially selected movies were a small tower on their own. Along with the chips were other snacks that didn’t need as much prep work, candy bars, nuts and candy. Yes, it seemed like all the perfect things needed for a perfect sleepover where they could forget about everyone else and just enjoy each other’s company.

“So! What has Kashima-chan been up to? It feels like forever since we’ve hung out!”

Unable to help herself, Kashima reached over to grab a few chip before glancing up at the question. What had she been doing for a the few days. Hmm... 

“... I don’t think I’ve been doing too much to get attention. I’ve been keeping a low profile for a while.” 

More because she didn’t want no one to see how gloomy she was when Hori-chan left.

“I did the usual, go shopping for clothe, looking up some sweets to bake. Ah! I also got moved to a new apartment! But... I don’t think my roommates stay there for too long. I didn’t get the chance to meet them. One of them was like an octopus! It was really weird... but nothing that would scare someone like me. I think you have to try really hard to scare me. I only got scared one time...” 

And that was thanks to Hori-Senpai.

Ahhh, it was hard to think of something to talk about without remembering him! “Oh-- what about you! I’m sure you’ve been through something more interesting then I have!”

The rumors had been true.  The half semester setback, the sudden disappearance of the stage prince, the tearful farewell from the whole (female) student body – a solemn PA announcement that had made available to confirm Kashima’s presence “over seas”. 

 The detail that kept on tripping him up was, she was here. “K,” Hori points in the middle of a bookstore, not minding his loudness. “–Kashima!!?”

Hori hadn’t just pinched himself hard enough to pull himself out of a dream, sweeping “the prince” off her feet as she pulls the cookbook from the shelf. 

“What are you,” Hori looks down at the cover, “…baking?” Not missing a beat, he hesitates.

 “When did you start baking?”

“Hm--!?” Kashima jolt in place as the voice that called her name rang in her ears. Was it... no it couldn’t be... right? Hori-Senpai had been gone for a while. Suddenly disappeared without a trace. That made Kashima miss him so much more., knowing that he wasn’t in the city. Maybe her mind was playing tricks on her.

In a way, she wanted to believe that was the case as she pulled the book from the bookshelf and turn to see some running up to her. The short man, brown spiky hair-- it had to be--

However, she didn’t have enough time to ask if it really was him, noticing how her feet no longer touched the ground, and for once, looking up at Hori-senpai. It was enough to leave her shock at the sudden gesture. Normally, she would be the one to sweep the damsel off their feet. But this time...

“Ehh?” ... oh. Oh! The book of course! “Eh-- I’ve been baking for a long time. I use to bake at home too. But I have a friend that I see once in a while and bake some sweets with him.” Yes. He was just a friend that she occasionally saw. Talked about themselves. Had some sleepovers. Nothing more then just friends.

“B-But... Senpai, I thought you left this place. I was so hurt when you left me here without saying goodbye.” Despite the bit of a playful tone, she really was down when he had left. It was a long, few weeks to get back up on her feet. “You should take some responsibility for leaving your Prince like that. Ah! If you let me buy you some treats for Halloween, then I can forgive you.~” In other words, bake something for him and say that she bought it.
