I’m not used to being loved. I wouldn’t know what to do.

He stiffened. Slowly, his head turned toward the form of the journalist, and his teeth were exposed in a sneer worthy of some big cat more than a businessman, his gaze glassy. Sickly. Jeremy Blaire was not well. He turned to charge after the other man, grabbing a book and tossing it at his fleeing form. “You and your fucking camera better get back here, you shitrag JOURNALIST!”
Even if he was a total cunt, Jeremey Blaire was still a sight for sore eyes. Miles never had a problem admitting these things either, or showing a little interest. But with Jeremy, flirtation was a dangerous game, so Miles ran. Miles hauled ass out of there. He had succeeded in touching the ass of Satan himself and now he had to focus on escaping the scene, trying his hardest not to laugh or trip as he did.

"Ever wonder if the world would be better off without you… ?" with this gentleman right here..

Well, this was a rare occasion if Miles had ever crossed one. Usually Eddie wasn't like this. Usually if he felt sad or upset, he took it out with anger against Miles. But tonight was different. Tonight Eddie was curled up next to him in their bed and for once he was showing what felt a lot like genuine affection. It was nice, admittedly, but it didn't come without a price.
The older man's jaw clenched and unclenched uncomfortably and every time he nearly spoke, he decided to swallow his words instead. It was worrisome for the reporter because he never knew what Eddie was thinking. Miles had quickly learned to always rely on actions a words when it came to his partner, but right now he wasn't getting any signs. It had a million and one (terrible) things running through his mind until finally--
"Do you ever wonder if the world would be better off without you?" Eddie's soft tones graced Miles waiting ears and where he should have felt relief he only felt a heavier dread.
If Miles were an honest man he would have said yes, and if once he ever held an ounce of humility in his body he would have elaborated on the subject. However, he evidently possessed neither trait at the moment and his relations to the sentence spoken to him stayed trapped behind his teeth. He loved Eddie, but he didn't trust him to burrow beneath his skin any further than he already had.
"Don't talk like that." Is what he mumbled instead and pressed a kiss to the other's jawline gingerly, wearily. Eddie wasn't the best lover affection could buy, but Miles couldn't imagine a world without him. Not now. He had tried. "I don't want to think about it."

Got me wanting to play Outlast again!
Miles/Blaire; "It’s all YOUR fault!"
Send me a pairing and a line of dialogue and I'll write you something?
Miles' vision had gone blurry at this point from being hit repetitively and the man that stood above him was speaking, but there was no understanding between them now. Out of all of the variants he had encountered, none of them had been quite this vicious. Sure, Chris was merciless in his killing, but at least it was over quickly.
This was torture.
"Who do you think you are, Upshur?" That voice. It was thick with venom and something not unlike disease. He sounded sick in the worst way, like Trager had before. Something disastrous had seeped into this man's veins a long time ago and he wasn't about to flush it out for Miles' sake. "You can't just waltz into a place like this and get away with it."
Those words held a truth that Miles had always ignored. He always just did what he had to do to get the story, this wasn't his first B&E and this wasn't his first time hearing a variation of that same sentence. This time, though, he feared he'd kicked in his last corporate door and all things considered, he shouldn't go down easily.
"How does it feel, Mr. Blaire--" The reporter choked out and attempted to stand, stumbling over the weight of gravity that felt a lot heavier than he'd ever remembered. Still, he tried to sound as obnoxiously professional, as reporter-esque, as possible."To know you caused this? How does it feel to know that this mess is all your fault?"
A heave of a sigh left Blaire and Miles was sure he'd never seen a look of frustration so malevolent in all his life. It was intimidating, but he was too tired to care when he was knocked against a wall once more. Blood smeared against the white drywall and reminded Miles just how fragile he had become. If this was the end, so be it. He could find satisfaction in knowing the reason behind all this was in just as much danger as he was. Maybe Blaire had once been indestructible, but his luck was a dipped from a well used too often. It would all be over soon enough, even if he wasn't there to see it burn.

"I just really need to have you here right now."
"Didn’t you see what I did?!"
"Oh fuck, oh FUCK."
"Please come get me."
"Where are you?!"
"I’m coming, just sit tight!"
"Look at me - just breathe, okay?"
"I can’t breathe!"
"You don’t have to stay."
"It’s all my fault."
"It’s all YOUR fault!"
"Don’t fucking touch me."
"Please I just… really need space right now."
"I’m right here. I’m not going anywhere."
"I’m gonna be sick."
"Ever wonder if the world would be better off without you… ?"
"I’m sick of being USELESS."
"You’re not useless."
"Shit, are you bleeding?!"
"Please, put it DOWN."
"Shh, c’mere…"
"It’s okay to cry…"
"Don’t listen to them. Don’t you EVER listen to them."
"I’m not cut out for this."
"Just leave me ALONE."
"Please listen to me-"
"You can trust me."
"Don’t trust me."
"What happened doesn’t change anything."
