do you ever think about how in 1907 human population was around 1,563,000,000. that means that even with mortality rate being as low as 0,017 we had approximately 26,571,000 individuals becoming plus souls. worldwide. every day. now, gotei 13's standing force is 3,000 people. for the entire planet. going into the details - that’s about 231 person per division. lets say 2nd division is internal, 4th division is primary engaged in support. that’s 11 divisions and, with 22 people being lieutenants and captains, we have 2519 shinigami out there. doing good work, fighting the good fight. ideally. which is 10548 incoming souls per soldier. the number gets multiplied by two as we approach 2014. but let’s remember some of these are poor and overtly attached souls - they remain on earth. let’s say some souls don’t get proper burials and thus - linger. however, that only makes things worse, right? now your statistics are relying on human factor and karma of each individual and that’s like dropping random numbers into lorenz attractor. now every day you have to predict how many teams will need to be dispatched to collect pretas, fight those gone hollow if necessary, how many will have to stay in soul society to distribute people among districts, how many souls can be released back into the cycle. yeah, you get average statistics that won’t be all over the place but still, is this dilapidated or what.
