Hoping one day everything will be ok and I'll be content and safe. I'll make Sacher Torte when that day comes.

went out again today. Overstimulated, yeah, but defo not as much. and it was a good day. I just... need to get used to it again
I never imagined that the next issue I would have after being a shut in bc i "had no reason or money to go out" was that, when I try to go out shopping, I would be so overstimulated for hours. I literally can't sleep and I only went to the mall

Today, What ever Happened to Baby Jane? (1962)
What can I say other than this movie definitely scared me. The aging Hollywood mansion, the abuse towards the incapacitated, the utreated mental illness and how it destroys a person and everyone around them, and the proximity to freedom that Blanche had constantly, and yet, her fate was sealed.
Honestly... she was paying for what she did to her sister in the end, a woman with stunned development and who, thanks to alcoholism and maybe some other condition, has this cognitive dissonance through all the movie that most people would categorize as "crazy".
Not only was this movie scary, but also profoundly sad, especially thanks to Jane's "You mean all this time we could have been friends?"
This one goes next to Sunset Blv for me. Maybe not as good, but definitely a good psychological horror.
(I also know about the Davis and Crawford drama, but the most I can say is that their roles were superb and that these were really 30's hollywood big starlets FOR A REASON!)
Back on my movie watching bs
I found a BUNCH of old Hindi films so you bet I'm giving myself a feast with those.
I started with "Bluff Master" (1963)
What can I say? One of the funniest romcoms I've seen. Shammi Kapoor has NO BUSINESS being THIS FUNNY! The physical comedy was amazing and not overdone, but most importantly is how witty the script was. Here I found one of the funniest jokes I've ever seen in a movie.
Though I had my issues with some aspects of the pacing, and choices that pull me out of the movie at times, especially towards the last 15 minutes of the movies, it was still overall enjoyable. Definitely loved the "conman gets caught and hurts the ones he loves, so tries to mend his past mistakes" plot, I'm a fan of it, so when Ashok's mother appeared and was heartbroken I really felt his pain.
The music? Outstanding. My favorite songs were Govinda Aala Re Aala, Bedardi Daghabaaz, and Chali Chali Kaisi Hawa Yew (the funniest number!), but overall a really good soundtrack!
And last but not least, Saira Banu. What a charm, what a beautiful actress, the screen was enchanted whenever she was on (her makeup was amazing and the way the movie was edited made her charms more present!) Her essence while acting added to the movie! Whenever I wasn't distracted by Shammi Kapoor's good looks I was enchanted by hers.
Solid 4.5/5⭐ would definitely rewatch because I love sixties movies, and this is the first 60's Bollywood movie I've seen!
