I really do wish meeting new people when you're autistic didn't result in the person viewing you as secretly evil for at least a month before realizing you just act slightly different than others without ulterior motive. I get that people meet a lot of assholes in life but omg. I didn't do anything

Affirmations Tapes Vs Subliminals
Let’s talk about affirmation tapes versus subliminals.
Both are tools. Nothing more. Just tools.
Affirmation tapes are simply recorded affirmations, usually in your own voice or a voice you can clearly hear, repeating the thoughts you want to install. You consciously know what is being said. Your brain registers the words. You can agree with them, resist them, feel them, or relax into them. They’re direct. Intentional. Transparent.
Subliminals, on the other hand, contain affirmations layered beneath music or ambient sounds so your conscious mind doesn’t fully detect them. The idea is that they bypass resistance and go straight to the subconscious.
But here’s the truth: neither one is magically more powerful.
What matters is your receptivity.
If hearing affirmations clearly makes you feel calm, focused, and secure, then affirmation tapes are perfect for you. They can feel more grounding because there’s no mystery involved. You know exactly what’s being repeated. Your nervous system can relax because nothing feels hidden.
If you tend to argue with affirmations or overanalyze them, subliminals might feel easier because you’re not consciously engaging with every word. They can reduce mental resistance simply because you’re not actively debating the statements.
However, subliminals are not some secret backdoor hack. Your brain is not a locked vault that needs to be tricked. Suggestibility increases when you are relaxed and receptive, not when something is hidden from you.
Again, it comes back to regulation. If you’re calm, either method works. If you’re tense and hypervigilant, neither will usually feel effective until you regulate first.
Affirmation tapes are direct repetition. Subliminals are subtle repetition. Both rely on the same mechanism: consistency and predictability.
And remember: you are still the source. The tape isn’t manifesting for you. The subliminal isn’t performing magic behind the scenes. They are just channels.
Your belief, your repetition, your identity; that’s what does the work.
