Throughout their friendship, it wouldn’t be uncommon for Uriel and Madeline to have naps together. Which, strangely enough, their personalities wouldn’t often allow-- Always wanting to be doing something, always feeling needed somewhere, or having some task to do. When they were younger, their naps were most spontaneous, not really having a reason, but their lives were more carefree back then. Now, sometimes Uriel looks forward to the time she can rest with Madeline, tending to overwork herself. She hopes the naps do her friend some good too, knowing too well all the troubles that plague her. Though, as they grow older, time seems to escape them both, finding it harder and harder to organise such things as the days grow more and more troubling.

Ever since meeting her, Thierry might enjoy spending time at the church, helping Uriel help others, when he’s not busy himself, of course. Uriel often works herself too hard there, worrying more about the needs of others than herself, and that fact tends to worry Thierry. He’ll assist her in feeding the hungry, or sometimes tell a story of his own to the sick children whilst Uriel listens just as curious as the kids. At the church, people don’t treat him strangely because of his occupation, and everyone is always interested in what he has to say, especially having an insight into death. He’ll help give those who do not have long themselves some peace in acceptance, and comforting them. Uriel loves to see how Thierry thrives at the church, and how it makes him happy to know he too is helping people in his own way. Thierry, too, loves to see that his presence at the church makes Uriel happy.

“Yes, indeed,” He pondered her questions, “I would think so, yes. Many do not find it as peaceful place to be as I do. In my whole life I have never seen any creatures of the Underworld appear. Personally, they are not my beliefs but I do believe that one only does evil if one sees evil in its heart. If you think before hand that dogs are dangerous and untrustworthy then dogs will react the same way towards you. I value other people’s opinion but do not believe the same things as they. I do also think it depends who the opinion belongs to if I would believe them or not.” The curiosity that gleamed in her eyes, strangely warmed his heart in some bizarre way. Thierry had become increasingly used to the fact that many didn’t appreciate his occupation and it was refreshing to have someone who did. “There have been times when I have believed that the Gods’ have been pulling my leg.” He wanted to tell her that it was frankly all the time since he started hearing the voices. But it wasn’t something he shared easily, no one knew of this fact. Not even his sister or twin brother.

“No, no! Please. It is no bother at all. I like conversing about my occupation but it seems that everyone else doesn’t. Tell me more about your occupation? What do you do exactly? Who do you help?” Thierry really wanted to know more about the amazing woman that was sat across of him. He could tell that she didn’t easily speak of her mother, no one spoke easy about the dead. So he didn’t bring it up anymore either, her mother’s voice seemed to die down too. “Yes, a tragic burden indeed. The task ahead often heavier than we expect.” Thierry said, thinking of his job of protecting his siblings.

“Yes, I understand. We do not look very alike in appearance which could also make it harder for you to picture her.” He smiled. “I shall, she will appreciate that compliment greatly.” Thierry said before leaving the room and entering his small kitchen. Even though this was his working area, it was set up more like a house than anything. There were even bedrooms, if it become very late or if anyone needed shelter. He had often let lone family members that had traveled from far and very little money spend the night before they returned back to where they came from. Once the water was boiled, he grabbed two cups and two tea sieves and placed them on a tray. Pouring the boiling water in a pottery-made teapot, he dropped the tea leaves in and grabbed two plates and two knives as well. Once everything was placed on the tray, he entered the sitting room again. “There. A nice cup of tea to go with your lemon cake. I am very curious to see what it tastes like.”

              “Very true, I can see your point,” she nods, taking in consideration about his words and opinions, before offering her point of view, not too far from his own, “While I agree with you on the evil front-- If spiritual beings, rather than calling them creatures, did exist... There surely could be benevolent ones, not just evil creatures. If I were to pin point my beliefs, it might be that such evil creatures themselves do not exist, but their harmless counterparts might.” She paused, worried she might be rambling too much, though the expression he gave her in response to all the interest she was paying the topic made her feel a little more reassured that it was all right for her to ramble a bit. “It’s just that... I find enjoyment in thinking of things we might not yet understand, or perhaps never will. There is something humbling in knowing that we, as humans, will never know absolutely everything about this world.”

              “Technically? Technically, I’m an astronomer. I offer my insight of the stars and their alignment to those who pay me, being the daughter of the royal astronomer to the King keeps that line of work for me alive, and it is truly one of my great passions.” A bright smile pulled onto her features at discussing her astronomy, though she knew it was not the topic of ‘occupation’ he had meant. “As for what I spend most of my days doing, yes, it would be at the church. Though I do not get paid, which is why I cannot classify it as my occupation of any sorts. But, I help anyone, really.” She ponders on the question a little longer, thinking of specific people she could mention. “Hm... Well there are the poor, the sick, and the elderly. Or even someone who is neither of those three, but merely looking for someone to talk to. You might be surprised how many higher-ups are actually quite conflicted or lonely.” And then there were the thieves of Albion, too. But she felt it wise not to mention them out loud. 

              After him leaving the room, her eyes gazed around the room, observing all the little details more carefully. As a habit, gathering information from what she could see. As she could hear him moving about in the kitchen, she deterred her eyes away from some portrait paintings, not wanting to rudely pry into matters without his presence there to allow it. Instead, she directed her attention to her hands straightening out the ruffles of her skirts. She did so for a minute or two before he returned, her awkwardness quickly dissipating and being replaced by her trademark smile again. “Thank you, I’m sure it will go lovely with the cake.” Taking the cup of tea with both her hands, she places it on the table in front of her before bending down to pull the lemon cake out of the basket. Placing it in the middle of the table, she unwraps the cloth to reveal what she had spent the early morning baking. “I can’t say it will taste like anything but lemon and cake,” she jokes, “But you are free to have some whenever you wish.”

You repay me by telling me why you’ve been wearing the same clothes for so long,” her tone was soft, but firm. Still, she ended with a light smile, masking the true hint of worry that was behind her question.

She had seen many different types of disease at the church, even read about them-- But she could not remember ever seeing anything akin to his. Nonetheless, she tore her eyes away, knowing it was rude to stare, and she looked over at nothing in particular to her left. “The show? Oh, yes. Yes, I did. Not really... my kind of entertainment, I have to admit. Not that it’s the fault of any of you, I mean. It’s just--... None of it seems to give me any great joy or thrill like it does everyone else.”
