I didn't make a post updating my Marvel cartoon watch for March or April.
My bad. lol So in March I watched:
X Men Evolution 2000 52 episodes
Spiderman New Animated Series 2003 13 episodes
Fantastic Four World's Greatest Heroes 2006 26 episodes
Spectacular Spiderman 2008 26 episodes
Wolverine And The X Men 2009 26 episodes
Iron Man Armored Adventures 2009 52 episodes
While in April, I only watched:
The Super Hero Squad Show 2009 52 episodes
Because it was so freaking difficult to watch, its like worse than Teen Titans Go and I dreaded every episode. Haha.
Anyways, all of these (besides the last one obviously) were fun. This month I've gotten to a slow start because from the 6th to the 10th, I actually went to Los Angeles to go to Disneyland and for the Sailor Moon event at Universal Studios Hollywood! But I'm trying to get back into the swing of it, coincidentally I start the animes this month which is fitting for AniMay. ;)
I forgot to make a post of the Marvel cartoons that I watched in February. lol
This mostly consisted of the 90s animated universe, with the addition of Ultraforce which I included because the character Topaz from that line of comics is at least in part the inspiration for Topaz in the Thor Ragnarok movie:
XMen Animated Series 1992 76 episodes
Iron Man 1994 26 episodes
Fantastic Four 1994 26 episodes
Spiderman Animated Series 1994 65 episodes
Ultraforce 1995 13 episodes
Incredible Hulk 1996 21 episodes
Silver Surfer 1998 13 episodes
Spiderman Unlimited 1999 13 episodes
Avengers United They Stand 1999 13 episodes
Even though this decade ended on some low quality series', it started really strong and overall it has been the most fun cartoons that I've watched by Marvel so far!
I also watched Nightman, which is another character from the Ultraforce comics. The first season was better than the second, it felt like a totally different show and that they didn't know what genre they wanted to be. I technically have two other live action shows that I could watch but I'm still debating if I will, I keep going back and forth if I want to count them as part of the multiverse.
Anyways, for this month I'm working through the cartoons from 2000-2009. I think I'll just try to aim for 2010-2015 for next month because the episode quantity really starts to increase with the later shows. All in all though, I should finish by the time Spiderman Brand New Day comes out!
So I might have started watching all of the Marvel cartoons I hadn't yet seen.
I was originally just going to finish my watch of the live action Marvel shows I haven't watched first, but because I was only doing those one episode a day at a time, I really wanted to be able to have time between now and Secret Wars next year to get through all of the cartoons. Well I really underestimated how long that might actually take me because I've already watched the first 10 on my list. lol Just in January I got through:
Marvel Super Heroes 1966 65 episodes
Fantastic Four 1967 20 episodes
Spiderman 1967 52 episodes
New Fantastic Four 1978 13 episodes
Fred And Barney Meet The Thing 1979 13 episodes
Spiderwoman 1979 16 episodes
Spiderman 1981 26 episodes
Spiderman And His Amazing Friends 1981 24 episodes
Incredible Hulk 1982 13 episodes
Spiderman Safety Series 1990 4 episodes
I also went ahead and watched all of the animated movies I hadn't seen yet too:
Ultimate Avengers 2006
Ultimate Avengers 2 2006
Invincible Iron Man 2007
Doctor Strange Sorcerer Supreme 2007
Next Avengers Heroes Of Tomorrow 2008
Hulk Versus 2009
Planet Hulk 2010
Thor Tales Of Asgard 2011
Iron Man Rise Of Technovore 2013
Iron Man And Hulk Heroes United 2013
Avengers Conditional Black Widow And Punisher 2014
Hulk Where Monsters Dwell 2016
I still have 29 more cartoons to get through, I think I'll just make a post at the end of each month on my progress through them stating which ones that I've finished. I'll continue watching as many episodes as I can each day, usually I have been able to get through a season a day and that's been about 13 episodes, while also watching one episode a day of the live action series that I'm watching. I am really enjoying the cartoons though!
Side note, I finished the Japanese Spiderman show and it was... Odd, to say the least. Haha.
During Dump Truck's first administration in order to get through each day I watched all of the live action Marvel related tv shows that were on Netflix, Hulu, and Freeform. Well because the news is even more abysmal to watch now and I desperately need something to distract myself before I go absolutely insane, I've decided I'm going to watch all of the old school live action Marvel related movies and tv shows that I haven't watched yet. I'm hoping to finish everything before Doomsday, which isn't until December so that isn't too bad.
In regards to the films, I'm talking about the real old ones so like pre-2000s mostly. I've already watched Howard The Duck, the Blade movies (plus its series), the XMen movies, the OG and second gen SpiderMan movies, The Punisher movies, Daredevil and Elektra movies, the OG Hulk movie, the Ghost Rider movies, and the OG and second gen Fantastic Four movies so I didn't need to do those again. The old movies that I watched this past year were:
Captain America 1944
Doctor Strange 1978
Captain America 1979
Captain America 2 1979
Captain America 1990
Power Pack 1991
Hardcase 1993
Firearm 1993
Fantastic Four 1994
Generation X 1996
Nick Fury Agent Of Shield 1998
Man Thing 2005
The Captain America 1944 really has no relation to Marvel besides the name, but was interesting non the less. Doctor Strange looks like something straight out of a porno. Ha. Hardcase and Firearm are really unrelated but still were released under the Marvel brand, the first was only 6 minutes long anyways. I adored Power Pack and Fantastic Four 1994. lol Generation X was probably my favorite out of all of these, due to the heavy 90s theme. Haha. I couldn't take David seriously as Nick Fury. XD But it was interesting to see "Trish" again in Man Thing. ;)
So I'm now moving on to watching the older live action series. The majority of Spidey Super Stories 1974 (26 episodes) are considered lost media, but I have watched the few that have been managed to be salvaged. I really enjoyed watching The Amazing Spiderman 1977 (13 episodes) show! While watching The Incredible Hulk 1977 (80 episodes) series, not only is it noticeably dated, it was kind of boring at times and with my mental health last year, it was a real struggle to trek through it. Left on my list is:
I am most anticipating the Japanese Spiderman show. Also I am aware that due to legal issues at the time, both Mutant X and Powers are not necessarily counted by many people to be considered Marvel adjacent media but regardless, for the sake of totality, I plan to watch them. I'm not looking forward to Nightman 1997 due to a certain current president making an appearance in one episode but oh well…
After I finish all of this, I'm debating if I want to try to watch all of the animated shows, specifically before Secret Wars. I've already watched a few of them anyways and it would be interesting to see the different takes between them. I'm also curious about the Motion Comics and if I would watch those or not. I did already watch both the Solarman 1988 and Pryde Of The XMen 1989 pilots, plus all of the Lego Marvel films. As far as I know, there is currently four ongoing animated Marvel shows. If I do end up trying to watch them all, I'll first start with the animated films like how I watched the live action movies before the live action shows, but that is a post for another time.
I know it’s scary, I’m not downplaying that, I’m literally crying as I type this because I’m terrified what’s going to happen, but please don’t be dispirited. Each time these elections don’t go the way I wished they would, you have to look at the glimmers of hope. There has been some historic firsts that happened in this country tonight with strides for LGBTQ+ rights, women’s rights, POC rights, etc. I’m not going to lie, it’s going to be a hell of a fight going forward and it’s going to suck so fucking bad, but you don’t stay quiet and you don’t become complacent. You speak out when it’s safe for you to do so and you vote in every damn election, even the mid terms, up and down the ballot no matter how hopeless it appears. You don’t let them take that vote from you but not just for you but for every LGBTQ+, girl, or colored child out there that will be future voters themselves one day. You keep going for them so they may live in a better and safer place. Yeah it sucks it’s up to you now and you may not ever see the benefits of the very things you fight for, but you do it regardless for the sheer spite of it! Otherwise everything that everyone has ever fought for civil rights was for nothing. You don’t let their efforts end here and especially not to these bigoted hateful prejudice fascists, they don’t deserve to trample over all the good that has been done throughout this country’s history. And not just for the people of this country. Do it for every LGBTQ+ person in another country being killed for simply loving someone or just identifying with what makes them comfortable. Do it for every woman who is forbidden from going to school and is being married off somewhere in the world right now. Do it for every person of color who is living somewhere not being represented. It took them 50 years to repeal Roe V Wade, if it takes another 50 years to reinstate it then dammit, so be it! You’re allowed to be sad or angry about how things went down, you’re entitled to take sometime for your mental health because you’re definitely going to need it going forward for the next four years, but you also have to recognize the privileges you still do have, that they are going to try to take away from you, but until your last breath, you keep fighting for it. Because what if the alternative happened at any other time in history? Then you wouldn’t have even had the chance to have your voice heard, you might not have even been born depending on the circumstances of your life, and I assure you, the world is much more brighter with each of you guys in it, even just for the betterment of my life, I’m happier knowing you guys all exist, don’t let your light be diminished this way.
The Sailor Senshi battle for the future of the galaxy is about to end
With Part 1 hitting Japanese theaters last Friday (June 9), here's the first trailer for Part 2, debutting on June 30, 2023
<<< We still have no word on the international release, but if we use the previous movie as reference, I expect both parts of Cosmos to hit Netflix worldwide by November... Unless they actually make a theatrical release, but who knows >>
