A/N: I recently watched a TikTok of how Lady Gaga wrote Blade of Grass from her new album, and I got inspired a bit. The ending feels a little rushed, but bear with me, please!!!

It was a casual Saturday and surprisingly, you and Alex had the same day off, which is something you don't get much considering your hectic schedules. It was nice to spend time with him. He was your rock. The person you confide too basically anything whether if you're overstimulated or just wanted to cuddle. And you were his from whatever drama he got himself into.

You were upstairs just lying on yours and Alex's shared bed, thinking where the next stage of your relationship should be. If we are being honest you never intended on finding a relationship, and all of your life, you never exactly had a good childhood. Throughout your childhood life, your parents aren't the best examples of what a marriage looks like. When you're playing with toys, you would hear them yelling constantly about the best care for you. Your mom suggested therapy for a bit and have you get sent to a school that specializes in people who were on the autism spectrum where your dad thinks you have a disease caused by vaccines and should have waited out till you were considered “normal”, people am I right!!!

But with Alex he made you feel love feels like unlike the crap you had to witness when you were a child. Of course you wanted to marry him and have kids, you were just thinking how you should propose.

Your thoughts were interrupted by Alex's voice from downstairs, “BABE ,THE FOOD IS READY!!! MADE YOUR FAVORITE!!” 

Your stomach growled at the thought of fried rice and baked mac n cheese. That stuff makes you have an orgasm….anyway. 

You made your way to the dining room, where you met with candles lit all around the room and Alex standing right in front of you wearing what looked like the most expensive suit you've ever seen him wearing, considering he barely wears any suits as it is.

1 year earlier

It was Zola’s birthday, well it was until it turned into Richard's 10,000 surgery party. You and Alex were on the patio cause it got a little too hectic, and you needed peace, so Alex took you outside.

You guys have been dating for almost a year now and it's crazy that you and the arrogant resident managed to go so far in this relationship. You guys were chatting about random things until a topic Alex brought up

“If I ever proposed too, what should I do?” Alex said curiously.

Never in your life have you thought about this. So I began to think about ways of getting proposed. You never cared about being luxurious, your style is very simple, just simple jeans and a basic t-shirt, hell, even your apartment is very basic as it is.

“Well I don't know, I've never really thought about it” you're mind goes blank do a minute trying too think, you looked a bushes in front you guys and thought about something “ i guess i dont really care if its expensive you could get me a blade of grass from a random garden and proposed to me then,” you say non chanteler whilst pointing too the bushes. 

Alex’s eyebrows rose up in surprise. “Really… just like that, no marching band, fireworks??? No big painting that says M/N WILL YOU MARRY ME??” he clearly thought you were insane a little bit.

You shrugged in assurance, “You know me, too much is a lot for me, I like it simple as clear as day.” You finish with a smile of assurance while grabbing his hand, signaling to cuddle with you.

Alex immediately scoots closer to you, leaning in on his shoulder continuing too another topic

Present day. 

You were shocked to say the most, scratch that you were freaking out, there is no way Alex about too what you think he was about too you. He moved close to you, hands touching, and he leaned his head forward so your heads were touching. 

Alex was shaking and trying to find the right words to say, “M/N L/N when I first met you five years ago, I hated you're guts, I was envious of how skilled you are and how you are way better off being a doctor than,” He says jokingly

You realised he was tearing up and you wiped down his tears

“ Then over the years, that's what I love about you, your dedication, your drive, and your empathy towards others, that I haven't really felt since ........FOREVER!!” Alex says with intent, trying to find the right words. 

All you could think of was looking at his blue eyes with so much love and staring in disbelief at how this is happening right now. Next thing you know, Alex goes on his knees, never letting go of your hands. He took out a tiny box hiding in the front pocket of his pants and opened it revealing a gold engagement ring with green stripes with a green diamond sitting in the middle shining bright as day. 

M/N L/N, will you do me the favor of making me the happiest man alive, and being my husband…will you marry me??” he asks with pleading eyes

You didn't say anything for a few seconds, which worried Alex for a quick second. All of a sudden, you bend down to his kiss and give him the biggest kiss you gave of your life nodding you're head.

“Yes!!! I do want too marry you Alex Karev!!!” you exclaimed with tears in you're eyes.

Alex lifted you up in pure joy. You guys looked at each other. eyes with so much looking forward to the next stage of your life with the man of your dreams.

Set in Season 4 when Meredith and Derek Broke up

It has been a few months since I got the job as The New Chief of Cardiothoracic Surgery. You had a job as a Mass Gen as a regular attending, but the Chief of Surgery, Richard Webber, offered you the job and you decided to take the job right away. You liked Seattle even though the constant rain annoyed the hell out of you. Over time you manage to make a few friends. It's mostly the heads of the surgical department and a few residents like Bailey and Callie.

You just finished your shift and decided to hang out at Joe’s, when you got there you sat down at the bar at the far end. When you ordered your usual drink you turned to the left and saw Derek Shepherd, the head of neurosurgery, was drinking alone. You decided to have some small talk since you didn't know him that well. You knew of him, like how his nickname is McDreamy and he had a previous relationship with one of the 1st years.

You went over to sit next to him and asked,” Hey, how are you doing?”

He turned to look at you and was surprised I was talking to him. He answered, “You're doing well, yourself.”

You nodded in response. Joe gave you your drink and the two of you started to have some small talk. It was mostly regarding other interests, what's your favorite sports team, where you go to college, all that stuff.

Then you decided to ask something that would be a little awkward to answer.

“So… what's the deal with you and that one resident?” you asked. You notice that he and Meredith steal glances every chance they get.

He looked at you debating whether or not to answer, “We had a relationship when she was in the 1st year” He paused “We tried to work it out but unfortunately, we couldn’t.”

“Sorry about that, it must have been hard,” you said with sincerity.

He looked down at his drink and replied, “Yeah…..yeah it was, but I'm starting to move on.”

A part of you was relieved that he was getting over the heartbreak that he is experiencing but another part of you made you feel bad for the dude and wondered what you do to help. 

Ever since that night at Joe’s, you and Derek’s friendship has grown even more. You guys talk whenever you have a break. It was a good friendship, a little brotherhood friendship. It was going great until your feelings towards Derek grew to the point where you started to grow romantic feelings. But you decided to act against it for two reasons. 1) you didn't know if he wasn't straight and 2) you were pretty sure he was still hung up with the 2-year resident. You decided to compress those feelings because you didn't want to mess up your newfound friendship with Derek. 

Then one day you and Derek were both alone changing in the attending room after a very long day of back-to-back surgeries. He was leaning against the locker right to yours while you were just finished changing into your regular clothing. You were gonna ask if you wanted to head to Joe's to watch the game. But Derek beat you to the question but the difference was that he asked you something that completely shocked you. 

“Go out with me tomorrow night,” Derek said so subtly.

You slammed the locker door hard and stared into his blue eyes. Your own eyes widened at the question. You normally don't judge a book by its cover, but you would have never thought he was into dudes

“ Are you playing a trick with me or is this some kind of joke?” you asked. You were very wary about the guys you dated because most of the guys you've dated were assholes or straight dudes trying to get a laugh at you.

Derek said quickly “I'm not!!!...it's just you for the past month you were by my side with a lot of you… and I really, REALLY, think we have a connection.” 

As he said that his words started to slow down and started to seem more sincere. You ask him whether or not he was straight. You assumed he was Bi or Pan at least considering he had an ex-wife and his last relationship was Meredith. He explained that he’s bisexual and that he had two boyfriends before he started dating Addison.

You were still hesitant because your last relationship ended with your boyfriend cheating on you with his co-worker. He could tell by your facial expressions that you were very hesitant. He took your hand looked into your eyes and said this

“I promise I'm not gonna be like the other guy, if you want to take things slow that's fine,  all that I'm asking for is one dinner, and that's it.”

You could tell that he was being genuine, again you were a little hesitant. But then again he wasn’t like the other dude. Derek is kind, smart, and charismatic, all of the great qualities in a man that you were into.

So you looked into his dreamy eyes and said, “Yes, I would love to.”

2 months later.

It was a long day In the OR and you wanted to lie down. You went to the call room to get some shut cause you didn't have the energy to drive. You took off your tennis shoes and laid down on the bottom bunk facing the wall. As you are about to shut your eyes you hear the door open and see a bright light illuminated on the wall.

You turned your back to whoever just opened the door and saw Derek who looked just as tired as you are. He shut the door behind him and walked over to you. He lay down next and put his arm around your body holding you in a firm grip never letting you go.

You murmured, “How was your craniotomy on that peds patient?” 

Derek also replied with a murmur” It went great, how did your heart transplant go?”

Seconds passed by without a response. Next thing you know, Derek heard the gentle sound of your snoring. Chuckling quietly to himself, he leaned in and placed a tender kiss on your forehead. Gradually, he too began to drift off to sleep.

THIRD PERSON POV

An hour passed, and the door opened revealing Alex who needed some shut-eye from a surgery he just assisted on. As he was about to select a bed, he paused, noticing Shepherd cuddling with the new cardio attending. His eyes widened in suspicion, suspecting a romantic relationship between the two. Soon after, Lexi and a few other interns entered, their attention immediately drawn to the scene before them. While some were taken aback, Lexi found the sight incredibly endearing.

A/n: I was supposed to post and finish this on Thursday but my friend wanted to do something and I got lazy during the weekend sooooooo yeah. ENJOY!!!

PS: Happy Valentines Day

You were currently in the bio lab in DEO national city base. Kara specifically asked you to analyze the mysterious Kryptonian that crashed and landed on Earth a few days ago while she said goodbye to Clark. You were a certified trauma surgeon with a fellowship in genetics and you also have a Ph.D. in biomedical engineering which made you become a BIo engineer just like your mom, Eliza.

You were doing another quick analysis on the Kryptonian. You couldn’t do any blood work or doing that is related to puncturing into his skin since his skin is basically bulletproof. You couldn’t use a small dose of kryptonite to weaken him because of the Metallo incident which made J'onn give Clark the rest of the remaining kryptonite so he can destroy it. So you had to stick with x-rays, MRIs, CAT scans, etc.

You were sitting next to the mysterious Kryptonian checking his vitals. You decided to make some small talk to the dude since no one is around and the two were alone. You know that he is in some coma but still, you were bored.

“Soooooo, mystery man, what should I call you. Mike, David, Johnny, Chris, Kai?” you said to the comatose Kryptonian.

“Ok, how about…” you got intercepted when the Kryptonian gasped and looked right at you.

You were about to grab your phone to call Kara, but you were interrupted by the Kryptonian wrapping his around your throat choking the living hell out of you. He threw you against the wall which caused you to knock out. All you are hearing right now is ringing coming from your ears and Alex asking whether or not you are okay before you knocked out

An hour later you woke up in the med bay with your head still buzzing. You sat up and saw that Alex and Kara were outside talking with J'onn. She saw that you were awake and went inside along with Kara.

“Oh my god, I thought something really bad happened to you!” Alex exclaimed as she hugged me.

Kara came in after Alex hugged me straight after. Gave me even a bigger hug which was a little too much.

“Kara…..you're…..hurting……me!” you exclaimed while in pain

Kara replied,” sorry sorry sorry, it happens.”

A few days later Kara found the Kryptonian, Mon-el, or should I say Daxamite. His Planet, Daxam, and Krypton weren’t exactly the best of friends. You were in the training room with Winn and Kara, those were given a test run of what exactly are powers which was a version of Kryptonians but slightly watered down. You were there to monitor his vitals and do a quick study of his physiology/anatomy.

You were done ten minutes ago and the others said you could leave, but you decided to stay because earlier Mon-el took off his shirt and couldn't help but stare. I mean who wouldn't stare. The dude is a God-made from heaven and you have been staring a little too long to see to the point where Kara took notice.

When you were 13 you found that you were gay. You didn’t tell any of your family including Alex because you were afraid that they were gonna kick you out. But later an incident involving the biggest bully in Midvale caused you to come out. Fortunately, your family was supportive and loved you for who you are. (we need for families like this tbh)

Kara walked over and stood next to me

“You're staring,” kara said whispered

You replied while whispering harshly,” am not.”

We went on this for a minute till Mon-el took notice. Mon-el felt bad for attacking you earlier. When he came to this world he didn’t know the full extent of his powers when he first woke up. He also noticed that you were staring at him. He couldn't help smirk at your cuteness, he got to admit he has a slight crush on you. He decided to jump on this conversation and walked over to the two.

“So what you two razzle dazzle’s talking about,” Mon-el said with confidence.

You and Kara stopped and turned their heads then replied in a slight panic “ NOTHING!!”

After that, your phone got a notification that said that you were needed back at the bio lab. Alex needs your help to analyze something. And you left.

3rd POV

When M/N left Mon-el took the opportunity to ask Kara a bunch of questions in regards to M/N. Kara was very confused on why he is asking these types of

“Sooooo…..is M/N single or something,” Mon-el asked Kara

Kara replied, “no he’s not…why?”

Kara thought why he is asking and realized that Mon-el was developing a crush on M/N and thought it was cute.

A Few Months Later

Over the last couple of months, your and Mon-el’s friendship grew ever since the incident. You absolutely adored how he would talk about the different things he discovered of his time at Earth. Like how he would listen to too Bon Jovi and begin to read plays from Shakespeare. Also as time went by your feelings more Mon-el grew exponentially. He was honestly star-struck by how much this world has to offer. He also loved how you talked about science, he knew how much passion you have for your line of work and loved how it made you happy.

The two of you were in bio lab currently, mon-el had nothing to right now over than the training sessions with Kara which he hated. So he decided to bother you until kara came to get him. You were in the lab analyzing some blood samples that Alex asked you to do.

“So what are you doing?” Mon-el asked

You replied, “ science stuff,” you looked away from the microscope and turned to face him, “ Aren’t supposed to be with Kara training or whatever.”

Mon-el leaned closer and said, “ Well yeah but I would love to spend this time with you.”

He leaned even closer to point the two of you were face to face. You decided to lean in even more so that you could feel each other's breath. Before you guys could continue you were interrupted by Alex.

“Hey, earlier we brought in an alien, and one of our own needs some stitches,” Alex said

You and mon-el pulled away and got into an awkward tension. You nodded at Alex meaning you were gonna be there in a few. Alex notice the tension in the room gave you a look. All you did was shrugged it off. She left the room and left you and mon-el alone in the lab. You quickly stood up and faced Mon-el

“I have to go,” you said in a hurry.

Mon-el was about to say something but couldn’t say something bc you bolted out. Kara came inside after you left and dragged Mon-el to the train.

Al’s Dive Bar

You were at the bar alone drinking.it was just you and a few other aliens around so it wasn’t an eventful night. You were about to order another drink but got interrupted by mon-el sitting next to you.

“Hi,” mon-el said with a smile.

You smiled back at him and replied, “Hey.”

30 minutes later you guys were talking about random stuff that you guys could think of and laugh your asses off. After it dialed down a bit Mon-el looked at you with love. You saw this thought there was something on your face.

You asked curiously, “what…. Is there something on my face?”

You started to touch your face to see if there is anything. Mon-el took your hands and put them down and replied.

“No no no it's not that.” he looked into your eyes and he felt his cheeks heat up and blush, “you're just….really handsome.”

You started to blush too. He used his hands to cup you're cheeks and started to lean in. you started in lean in also, you both stopped when you're lips were about to meet.

“Is it ok if I kiss you?” Mon-el asked curiously, he really wanted to kiss you.

You nodded and replied, “ yeah.”

He leaned in and kissed you. You let him kiss you for a moment until you decided to kiss back. After a few minutes, you ask him if he wanted to come to your place to…..do it.

Morning after

You woke up to your alarm going off. You shut your alarm off and looked over you're shoulder seeing Mon-el left the bed. You looked at you're door and smelled bacon coming from the kitchen. You're put on you're boxers and shirt from the floor and went to the kitchen. When you went to the kitchen to see that mon-el was at the stove making eggs with bacon. You went up to him and wrap your arms around him.

You took in the smell in front of you and said “it smells amazing.”

“Thanks, Kara has been teaching me,” Mon-el said with pride.

He put the bacon and the eggs on the table and went over to me. He came over and warped his arms around my waist and kissed me. We went to the table and started to eat. We ate in silence which was a comfortable silence. Mon-el looked at me and asked

“So since we both like each other. Like get into each other's pants type of thing,” he paused for a second and continued.

“Since what I'm trying to say is that I want to take you out on a date like I'm talking about dinner or a movie or a……”

You interrupted by kissing him. The kiss lasted for a few seconds, we pulled apart and I responded, “I would love that.”

You guys kissed which turned into a full make-out session. It kept going on until mon-el asked for another round. You respond with a kiss and lips, he picked you up and carried you to the bedroom to go another round.

A/N: This is my first official post so I hope you guys like it, I'm a little new to this so bear with me. Requests are still open so submit something if you want. This also kinda hits home with me since my little brother is autistic sooooooooooo enjoy!!!!! :)

Y/N POV

Are you currently outside of the OR getting scrubbed for your first surgery as a surgical fellow at Gray-Sloan memorial. It was an appendectomy (the removal of the appendix). A 9-year-old came in the ER saying that there was a pain in the stomach then later when you did an ultrasound and discovered it was an appendix about to rupture so Arizona decided it was about time to let you take the steering wheels and go solo with this case. This was your first solo surgery as a surgical fellow specializing in pediatric Surgery. Arizona thought you and Alex had potential and decided to mentor you during your last 2 years of residency and during you're fellowship years.

You were about to finish scrubbing until Alex came in with a sad look on his face. He was your boyfriend a year after Izzie left too god knows where. You knew Alex when you started your residency. It was the 6 of you guys that started this journey back when it was Seattle grace. Meredith, Alex, George, Izzie, Christina, and you. And now one died, one got fired, and now Christina ran away to Boston. It was just you, Alex, and Meredith.

In the beginning, you didn't like Alex as you can say….. Scratch you hated evil spawn in every bone in you're body.

3rd POV

Intern year

It was a few months since M/N began his residency at Seattle Grace. And there was never one person he hated the most. Which is evil spawn himself. M/N was not necessarily a violent person you can say. But he could make an exception to evil spawn. M/N was doing post-op surgical notes with Meredith because the nazi said so and you DO what the nazi says so, at the nurse's station and Karev was next to complaining about knows what about. M/N was trying completely blocked off everything that Alex was saying to him and it was not working.

“ and then after Montgomery said that I was like….” Alex complained.

M/N turned his head to face Alex and interrupted him by saying “Dr. Alex Karev if you don't mind me saying that please stop talking and let me concentrate on my work.”

Alex turned to face him with a shocked expression and a few other people around M/N, including Meredith.

“ you know what pretty boy, you should keep up that attitude more often I like it, makes you even hotter,” Alex said with a grinning expression whilst winking at him and he left

“Was it just me or was he just flirting with you,” Meredith said with a confused expression.

All M/N did was just stare at her and finished his notes.

Year 4

M/N was in the cafeteria chatting with Alex. Well, Alex was talking. M/N was looking at his eyes. The pair have gotten closer over the years and even closer since Izzie left, which made M/N recently develop some feelings for Alex and it has gotten worse. Like REALLY worse. M/N didn’t know what to do with those feelings. he didn't even notice Alex stopped talking.

“ Why are you staring at me like that,” he said with a sly smirk on his face,” you wanna kiss me or what.”

Before M/N could respond Alex’s pager went off with a 911 page so he left. M/N has it hard.

A few hours later

M/N was currently walking with Meredith and Christina chatting. You three were in the resident lounge changing into your regular clothes. You saw Alex walking up to the twisted sisters telling them to get out for a second.

He turned to face me

“I like you, I like you a lot, you make me feel happy, you make my day feel like I'm in heaven EVERY GOD DAMNN DAY…. and…..and.” Alex began to stutter not really sure what else not to say.

You acted on it instinct and leaned up to him and kissed him. It was a short kiss and you quickly pulled out. Your eyes widened and you looked over his shoulder and saw Christina and Meredith and they had happy faces. Next thing you knew Alex leaned down to kissed you and you kissed back.

Present time

Alex said, “ Hey babe, sorry that I have to do this but there is a kid that needs surgery and Barnett needs an extra set of hands there are no attendings on-call so they called me.”

“It's fine,” you replied even though you were a little sad about that.

Alex and Merideth were gonna go up in the gallery to watch you perform the appy. You were in the plane crash with Merideth and the 5 others who were on the plane. It kinda messed you up not gonna lie. It also didn't help you were on the autistic spectrum as well. At the beginning of the residency, people were already questioning your ability to do surgery and now they are questioning your ability to surgery because you have PTSD.

He went over to kiss my cheek and said,” knock me dead.”

“It’s an appy everyone can do,” you replied.

When he opened the door and turned around and gave me a wink and a thumbs up and left

It's a pretty simple procedure. Most pediatric surgeons go through on a weekly basis so this should be a piece of cake. You just got out of scrubbing and in the middle of gowning up. After that, you went to the table.

“Ok…….,” you said with an emotionless expression. You got to admit you were pretty excited. It's your first surgery after all. You look up to Meredith looking down at me with an iPad which I assume it's Christina watching. She smiled right at me so I smiled back.

“Bokhee,.....10 blade.”

Sometime later

Halfway through the appendectomy you got pretty bored and decided to play some light music. When you were about to ask for suction you heard a loud bang.

Flash Back to the plane crash

One minute you were reading a book at the back of the plane with lexie and the next thing you know you were in the dirt in the middle of the forest. You looked around and saw pieces and bits of the plane all around you. Arizona can be heard in the background screaming to your right and hear someone banging something on metal to the left. There was too much noise going on around and it caused you to go into a panic.

3rd POV

In the OR

One minute Meredith was talking to Christina about the current tea/drama that was currently going around. For example how Meredith and Bailey have a new nickname coming from the interns. And all of a sudden she heard a huge bang coming from the OR. She looked out the window and a couple of trays fell to the ground. She also saw M/n going into a panic and crouched down and looked like he was hyperventilating. She went down the stairs and grabbed a mask.

When she got to the OR she definitely noticed the nurses and the anesthesiologist looking confused. She went over to M/N and crouched down too.

“M/N it me, it's Meredith,” she said softly.

She noticed that his eyes were stained with tears and he could barely breathe with the mask on him. They need to get out of there ASAP.

“Ok someone page Dr.Stark and tell him to go too OR 2 tell him to continue the appy. And also get new surgical instruments that are sterile, ” she said sternly.

Apparently, no one was barely doing anything so became medusa.

“NOW PEOPLE OR ELSE I’LL TAKE A SCALPEL AND STICK IT WHERE THE SUN DON'T SHINE!!!!!” she exclaimed.

She turned too m/n and gently led him into the on-call room. She led him down to a bed and told him to stay put and she ran back to the OR floor to find Alex. She found Alex in OR 4. He was about to finish the surgery when he heard the door open revealed Mer.

Mer said breathlessly and worried, “ Alex…. it's M/N.”

Y/N POV

You were currently in the on-call room trying to calm down to the best of your ability. You can still remember everything from the crash. Just thinking of it makes you go into a panic. You heard the door open and it revealed Alex wearing his scrub cap and a surgical gown. He sat down next to me on the bed and began to cuddle with me.

“Hey….hey it's okay, everything is fine I'm here, I'm not going anywhere okay,” Alex reassured me.

You guys stayed here for a few minutes until you calmed down and eventually fell asleep in his arms and with him also falling. An hour or 2 later you woke up eventually and saw that I was still in the on-call room, you lifted your head a little bit and saw that you were still in Alex’s arms who was also asleep as well. In these moments like you are totally grateful that you have Alex in life. He was the first person to feel like you mattered other than your parents. He was the person who you leaned on for support and vice versa. You can’t too marry this man.

3rd person POV

Meredith opened the on-call room that Alex and M/N were in. She opened the door and saw that they were both taking a nap. She looked at the sight and did nothing but smile. She closed the door and began to wonder when Alex was gonna propose. Alex had the ring picked out when his parents came to town a month ago, he was just waiting for the right moment to ask.
