“Feature request” sent to Tumblr ( I did consider sending this as an abuse report)
Dear Tumblr,
Please stop! Your new policy of inserting posts from “recommended” blogs into members’ dashboards has become truly obnoxious. The whole point of the dashboard was that one could personalize it, not have it populated by some algorithm. There seems to be no way to stop this. Repeatedly click on “this particular post sucks” and you’ll keep getting others from that blog. Ignore the post and you’ll see the identical one the next day. And the next. Follow a blog and immediately block it - that seemed to work for a couple of days, but no longer. It’s just not fun using tumblr anymore. Why on earth are you imitating Facebook when it’s clear that Facebook is failing to attract your primary demographic? You are really screwing up. Please stop abusing your members!
