CP: So what happened was Tobin and I got caught kissing under a tree at national team camp.

TH: We didn't... Yeah, we did, yeah. But the interesting thing is we actually didn't know at the time of the kissing that we had gotten caught.

CP: You're right. We got secretly caught.

TH: Which is almost worse, because you were definitely still kissing. I feel like if somebody caught you kissing, you'd be like, "Oh, we just bumped heads" or something, you know what I mean? But I feel like in this situation, it's like, who knows how long we were being caught. I do think it was a very romantic moment, though.

CP: It was a very sweet moment.

They did it. They proved every doubter wrong. They made everyone who celebrated their downfall last year look like a fucking joke. They played hard. They played together. They played for each other. They’re Olympic champions and nobody can take that away.

i think part of the lynn criticism is that fans are expecting her to play like she does for ncc, but that's not the role that the uswnt asks her to play. the way she puts pressure on the backline of other teams spreads them out and opens things up for the other forwards and attacking mids. obviously they need her to score sometimes (like today!) but she's not supposed to be their main scorer. and she gets a ton of assists! she gets too much criticism imo

I absolutely agree. Vlatko has said plenty of times that he has a specific role for Lynn and clearly she does that or he wouldn't keep her around. That's not to say I don't find his methods sketchy sometimes, ie. this tournament, but the plan is working, so they both live to fight the haters another day.
