TatsuBlog 08/09/2015, 11:20am - “I had one announcement.”
I’ll be taking part in a picture book reading for a radio show called “Apollon” on Tokyo FM.
It’ll be from 8/24 until 8/27.
Allow me to reminisce here for a moment.
When I was young, I remember often pestering my mom to read me picture books.
My mom read books to me, who wasn’t good at reading at the time, with the wish that her son can become someone who would read books.
Because I enjoyed those times, I started to like picture books and would read a number of them in a week, so perhaps all that effort was worth it.
And I remember there was a time that whenever I would go to some place like the library, the staff would read books to us, kids.
The thing is, I never would have expected - growing up and working, that I would be in a position like this where I am the one reading picture books out loud.
To me, picture books are memories.
So to think that a young someone out there might listen to and remember a story that I read makes my small bit of happiness grow stronger.
My reading time where it’s me reading a story to “someone” and not playing a “role.”
I hope that you enjoy it.

I always enjoyed reading time as well… when one of the teachers would read a story out loud for us. There was something so comforting about it.
And now here is Tatsu set to do the same thing. I hope there are some children out there who listen to it. Perhaps it’ll leave an impression.
