What is this blog?

This is an askblog dedicated to Undertale/Deltarune asks that approach the 4th wall, refer to the nature of Undertale/Deltarune as games or use the game format in a way that other askblogs would usually avoid interacting with. Did you ever wish you could say something to the game characters? Perhaps a warning about their future, perhaps an explanation to Kris about why you're inhabiting them, something about Deltarune to a character from Undertale? Askblogs are how people usually execute their desire to talk to the characters, but many askblogs will avoid approcahing the 4th wall. Well, this is an askblog designed to do just this. Here are a few examples:

Warning sans in Deltarune about how there might be genocide in Undertale, and perhaps apologizing for it. Telling to Kris we don't want to possess them, but that if we don't do anything, their world freezes in time. Warning characters about their fate in an earlier part of the game. Telling people we can SAVE and reset. Talking about Undertale in Deltarune or the opposite. And so much more...

Bad Time Trio - Update 1 on my progress

So, it's hell. But the good kind of hell. I got up to 1:12 in Normal mode. Papyrus's attack makes me think of the phrase "you slippery snail!"

The second part of sans's attack is quite hard. Especially the fact that the blasters follow you.

Not an in-character question, but what is the continuity between the asks? Are all the questions from the different askers part of the same timeline, or are they disconnected from each other?

In other words, if I were to ask the characters multiple questions, would they remember my previous questions? Would they remember questions from different users, or could I choose to keep mine separate?

Everything that hasn't been specified to be connected is separate. They are all in different timelines, unless someone specified that they want to continue from their former ask.

If you want to continue someone else's timeline, make sure they aren't interested in continuing it. I don't want multiple branching timelines. If I see someone wanted to continue someone else's ask, and they want to continue it, too, I'll consider the mental hassle and decide if I want to or not.

While this is a nice ask, this doesn't really twist the boundaries of the 4th wall or anything like that. I have many asks to answer, and I made this blog to answer questions that are "meta" (I think people use this word like this). This is just something that could appear in a normal Deltarune Ask Blog.

Kris almost fell asleep, as the Being spoke to them again. What did they say about Temmie? She was supposedly responsible for this? And what dog were they talking about?

They were talking about some supposedly fun event, that involved the "doctor" that could maybe help them with their body and the SOUL.

Wait. Wait. Did the Being read Kris's thoughts? They realized that they didn't speak last time. Could it hear their thoughts? Could it do more?

They talked about giving something to Aqua. However, that was no longer possible, and they should know this. Were their messages delayed in some way?

And... Undertale and Kris's worlds were interacted with as video games? How? And why would someone create a video game as a pathway to another world? Was it for research purposes? Was it for something else? Or was the Being and others of its kind so powerful they could toy with entire worlds simply for fun?

This was too much to think about. They needed to go to sleep. They could see the sun starting to shine outside. They'll think about it tomorrow.

Note: Well, this is the end. I can't drag this on any longer - both because it progresses into Chapter 6 territory, and because I feel like this is already too long. New rules: 4-long-chains at max. The first one, and then 3 more.

I have some stuff to do, but I'll probably do around 4-5 more asks today (it's currently evening for me). I felt like the last 2 were a bit lower-quality, so I'll take a break, regain my energy, and make the next ones better.

It was a nice day. Snowy's dad was having a mediocre time, when Kris suddenly approached him. They told him he was the best "Deltarune character". He was pretty confused, but understood it was probably a compliment, so he smiled and thanked them.

It was a somewhat nicer day to Snowy's dad. It was a moderately more confusing day to Kris.

It was night. Kris just walked back from Castle Town, after saying goodbye to Susie. It still left a tinge in their chest. An uncomfortable feeling. Kris couldn't put their feeling on it. Perhaps they felt like something was wrong with Susie. Perhaps they felt like something was wrong with them. They weren't sure.

But now, the moment they've been waiting for for a few hours has arrived. They walked back to their house, entered their room, and took out the game disc that stayed the same between the dark world and the light world.

Suddenly, the Being spoke again. Kris was quite confused by what it said. Didn't the being say it was an entirely different world? How did their brother live on for so long? Also, why did that banana smell so delicious? Kris ate the banana, with the peel.

Well, all of those questions will probably be answered if Kris just played the game. They loaded the game into their old game console, and sat back.

So it seemed like humans and monsters are enemies in this world. Kris wondered why exactly. So, Kris will experience this world through the body of a human child. Okay. And the game is called "Undertale". Something about the name bugged Kris, but they didn't care about it enough to stop and think.

And the menu opened. Wait. Wait, wait, wait. Why was the SOUL there? Kris felt uncomfortable. And... they could move it around. And control it.

Did... Did the Being control them through something similar?

The settings button only let Kris change to another language, which they didn't recognize. They changed it back.

So, they moved around. They met that Flowey guy. Is this who the Being was talking about? Is this supposedly Asriel? Kris wished they could talk to him, but they couldn't. The human they were controlling remained silent. Kris discovered that they did, in fact, control the SOUL.

And the Flowey tried to kill them. They remembered the Being said something about him being a serial killer, but it still took them by surprise.

Wait, MOM? Kris thought, as Toriel arrived. She led them through the ruins, and they reached a star. A star that looked a bit like the star Kris sometimes saw, that let them SAVE.

They continued onwards. Then, a fight started. Kris has played some RPGs in the past, so they quickly pressed the attack button. Maybe the monster will run away if they bring it to 0 HP. Toriel made it run away this time, but soon, another monster appeared. Kris attacked it once, managed to dodge its attack, and attacked again.

The monster turned to dust, and Kris paled. This... This isn't supposed to happen. It was supposed to run away. Kris can't just KILL a living being in another reality, can they???

Kris restarted the game. To their relief, they were back near the SAVE star. They continued throughout the game, this time sparing monsters they encountered.

They met sans. He was quite similar to how he acted in their world. And they finally met his fabled brother. He was kinda funny.

They continued throughout the game. They met Undyne, Alphys, some beautiful guy called Mettaton, and eventually, Asgore.

Throughout the game, Kris wondered why Toriel hated Asgore. They learned the reason. Kris had a hard time deciding on their feelings... He did seem to make a hard decision, but it was because he wanted to help his people.

Wait, why couldn't they spare him? They had to fight? Unfortunately, it seemed so. So they lowered his HP more and more, until they were given a choice. Obviously, they chose to spare him.

What? Flowey? What the heck? He just killed him? And the human SOULs... They were in his control?

Now, what the HECK was THAT thing???

It took them quite some time, but Kris managed to defeat Flowey. They reached the ending, but weren't satisfied. Flowey said something about having more to do. So they loaded the game again. Perhaps they'll be able to interact with someone to get something more.

Oh, a phone call? Sure, Kris could take their letter. The date scene was funny. Kris actually remembered how their Alphys and Undyne almost met each other. Maybe Kris will be cause them to meet, after all of this is over.

Okay, a strange underground lab. Sure.

What were those thing??? They looked almost as weird as the fight against super-Flowey.

Okay, weird elevator thing. Oh no, vines? That can't be good.

They entered the throne room. Everyone got there. Well, Flowey. Shit.

Wait, this fight actually looked really similar to what Kris's brother made once. Rainbow wings... It was oddly similar.

Okay, so it was Asriel. Child Asriel. Happy ending and all of that.

Well, it was way too late, and Kris was dead tired. They'll think about it all tomorrow.

Kris was walking through the the dark world. It's been an hour or so since the Being last talked to them. They were still stressed. The things the Being told them... They were scary. Kris wanted to use the game disc, but they had no game console to use it on. It seemed like it would work in the one in their house, but their house was in the light world. Kris hoped this disc will stay them in some form.

Suddenly, a burger appeared in their hand. ...what? Did the Being do this? It looked tasty. Is it safe to eat? "Hey, Kris, where did you get that? Can I eat it, if you're not going to?" Kris looked at it. It looked tasty. Kris thought of the danger. Kris took a big bite.

"Can I have the rest?" Susie asked. Kris looked at it. It looked tasty. It was tasty. They wanted more. They also wanted to give it to Susie. They took another bite, and then handed the rest to Susie.

Maybe the Being wasn't that bad. It was suddenly able to talk to them and spawn items. Maybe it will be able to help them more. They continued walking.

Honestly unclear who is reversing your memories or if its different reality's each time especially when the 3 save files are brought into discussion but probably or a different version of you

Kris was somewhere in the dark world they created, when they suddenly felt weird. Did the Being... Did the Being want to talk to them again?

They were in the wild, so Kris told Susie and ralsei they needed to pee, and walked away for a minute or so. And then, the Being talked. This time, it talked slower, with more breaks. This was nice, as Kris could more easily understand it.

They stared at the item that appeared in their hand. It was a standard case for a console game. An entire world, contained within that??? Who was that Being, that it could seal an entire reality withing such a small container, and then (probably) make it viable as a game???

And the last thing they said. The last thing. "3 save files". What did they mean by that? If they could seal an entire world in a video game, could... Did they put Kris's world in a video game, too? There were these strange symbols in battles, and they sometimes almost felt as if their experiences were being narrated to them, with very clearly-defined sentences in their thoughts. What... What was their world???

So, in the other reality, one could murder everyone. And there, they were supposed to have "more freedom". Kris wasn't sure they wanted that freedom if it meant killing everyone was an option. They'll never do it, but still...

They almost wanted the possibility. They didn't want to do that. But the thought of being able to do whatever they wanted felt scarily enchanting. Here, they were bound to the SOUL's wishes and commands. It felt nice, imagining the possibility of freedom.

And that 'weird route'. The Being said it was tragic. They said that it was about making Noelle commit murder and suicide. It sounded evil. Why would anyone do something like this? What good could it bring?

And the Being said it watched others do it. And they mentioned other versions of Kris. Were there... others like the Being? That controlled other versions of Kris? And those Beings could interact with one another? How could Kris even know they were talking to the same Being all of the time?

They were stressed. But it's already been a few minutes since they "went to pee", so Kris decided to come back. They didn't want to think about it for quite some time. They had enough on their mind as is.

Kris noticed they had more control of themself. Sometimes they could take control of their own body momentarily, but this time they did it for a few minutes. Perhaps the Being could let go of more control sometimes.

Timeline 2C

Hey... Kris? Are you... okay? You're not gonna do anything silly with those flower seeds, are you? ...If you don't wanna go home for the night, maybe you could follow Susie to Castle Town, I'm sure her and Ralsei would to have you there!

Just remember to tell Tori where you're going, okay? You can just say you're sleeping over at Susie's, it's not a lie!

(This ask is set at/just after the ending of chapter 4. I wanna check on Kris.)

Kris has just dropped down from their room, when they saw their SOUL floating down to them. Kris didn't know how it exited the cage. And then, it spoke to them. Not exactly with sound, but not exactly telepathically, either. It was a weird feeling.

Kris was surprised. That Thing, worried about them? Asking them if they're okay? After controlling them for days?

Kris stopped. Perhaps this Being wasn't evil. Kris still wasn't sure why and how it started controlling them. There's a chance it may not be evil. Even if it's dumb and insists on talking to literally everyone.

"'m okay", Kris replied. It was obviously untrue, but they were never one to tell others of their feelings. But... They weren't okay. Not really. Maybe going over to Castle Town would be nice. The SOUL floated downwards, stopping near them. It didn't seem like it particularly wanted to enter Kris. Maybe it decided to give them some time of freedom.

Kris climbed back into their room, and left a note. "im going too sleep at susies house". That would be enough. And with how Toriel acted, Kris didn't feel any particular need to tell her more.

The SOUL waited patiently for them on the ground. When they started walking towards Castle Town, it hovered near them. Kris decided to put it in their pocket. Yes, it was late, but the darn thing was glowing and they were walking in the middle of the street.

As they neared Castle Town, Kris put it back in. They hoped it would just go to sleep. It was really late. And so it did. They had enough adventures for today. And Kris needed their sleep.

Kris thought of what it said. It sounded worried about them. It was weird that the Thing that controlled them all this time might be worried for them. It made them fight some really powerful enemies over and over again, when they died countless times. Kris didn't understand it. But they hoped they will, at some point. With that thought in mind, Kris drifted off to sleep in their room.

Note: I didn't really understand what "flower seeds" you were talking about, so I entirely ignored that part.

Timeline 6A

To answerr your questions we just kinda got shoved into you instead of our cool body that the doctor made for us without a face and grey we have seen other reality's asgore and toriel are fated to divorce sadly also they where monarchs and magic was not darkworld exclusive and the weird route is the manipulate noelle into commiting murder suicide and being aware of us also we can only speak in bursts and then observe (this is too kris in the previous ask) also I want to test if we can put things in this world so [attempts to spawn mew mew doll from undertale] bring to angry ghost if works

After their... not "conversation", but "interaction" with the Being earlier that day, Kris was somewhat uncomfortable. They wanted to speak to that Being more. They wanted knowledge. They wanted answers.

Noelle needed to go see her dad. Kris hoped he was okay. He was like an uncle for them. They wanted to go check on him, but they had stuff to do. Susie will soon, return, and-

The Being spoke again. Just like last time, they talked fast, through Kris's mouth, and didn't stop even once. Kris was surprised. So, they could talk to Kris in "short bursts", and then "observe". And, the Being spawned a doll??? What more could it do?

They spoke of a doctor, that made some body for them. Kris hoped to meet that person. Perhaps they could help Kris. Maybe they could give the Being a new body. Maybe they can help Kris with 1ha8daVS9%. Maybe they can solve Kris's problems.

The Being spoke of another reality. Some kind of alternate reality. In it, there was magic and Kris's parents were the Queen and King? That sounded very different than Kris's reality. Did that reality have the 'weird route' thing they were talking about? No, the Being said "the plotline your reality has", last time. But it didn't happen. So, did the Being delete their memories when they reset? Kris had a hard time thinking of other options for what they could've meant.

And that 'weird route' sounded bad. So if it happened in this reality, did the Being... Did the Being do that? It sounded nice, so Kris wasn't sure what to make of what it said. It talked quite erratically, too. Kris decided to ask more.

"is there weird route in the reality where my parents are royals and there's magic", they asked. "did you commit weird route", they asked, a bit worried. "do you delete my memories" was the final one.

Kris looked at the doll in their hands. The Being said something about giving it to a ghost. Kris remembered there were some ghosts in the house near Asgore's flower shop. They went over there, put the doll in front of the door, and went to Asgore's flower shop. They didn't knock, as they didn't want anyone to see them making the dark world. They hurried, as they knew Susie was coming. You know the rest.

Timeline 2B

Hey kris susie noelle did you know a speedrun strategy to your reality is by going into the lake as far down as possible just be careful 0f the murderer who turned onionsan the thing that "kris" spoke to in the lake and sold him for only 2g for only free in the Squid dough balls also say hi to ralsei he is the best

The festival was quite nice. It was a beautiful day outside. Kris, Susie and Noelle sat on the table by the lake, talking. Well, only Noelle and Susie were talking, until Kris suddenly said something in a weird voice.

"...what", Kris mumbled a moment later. You could see a tiny bit of confusion on their face, which was much more than the usual complete absence of emotion.

"Kris, what did you just say?" Susie asked, confused. "t'wasn't me", Kris answered. "I saw you lips move," Noelle said. "still wasn't me", Kris replied. "I mean I guess they talked about Kris in third person, and referred to them weirdly..." Susie said. "Kris referres to themself in third person sometimes. Kris, are you just pranking us?" She looked at Susie for a moment. "They pranked me A LOT when we were younger."

"'m telling you t'wasn't me", Kris replied. "they live in my body but they aren't me". Susie frowned. "What... What do you mean by 'live in my body'?" She asked. Kris put their face on the table. "don't wanna talk about 't", they mumbled.

"Well, regardless of what Kris means by it,' Noelle said, noticing they were uncomfortable, "What exactly did that voice say?" She asked Susie. "Well, there was something about a weird 'speedrun strategy' of going in a lake, but there's some murderer who turned someone called 'Onionsan' into Squid dough balls or something." She said. "I don't think we should do that 'speedrun strategy'."

"Wait." Noelle said. "Squid dough balls? Wasn't there someone like that at the festival? Should we go talk to them?" Noelle said. "Yeah, we should probably hurry. We don't know how long they'll stay for." Susie replied. "Before that, we should think about the last thing they said. Something about 'Ralsee' or something?" Noelle said, and then blinked. "Wait, I think there was some fluffy guy in my dream that was called 'Ralsee' or something! I think he was kinda similar to Asriel, but not tha much. They were just the same type of monster."

"Hmm, eh, what a weird coincidence. Maybe, that, em voice, can control dreams? So they gave you that dream? Or they can look into your dreams?" Susie said, sweating profusely. Noelle, as always, noticed nothing. "Perhaps. Let's go check that person selling squid balls first, and then think about that."

They walked back to the festival, but that person was no longer there. Shortly after, Carol called Noelle, Susie went to get ice cream, and Kris went "to the lake". Then, a dark fountain mysteriously appeared in Asgore's flower shop, and the rest you probably know.
