“Eyes closed”

Phew! I hope everyone enjoys this one! Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got some rambling to do!

This comic is all about Ralsei and Kris’s complex relationship. It follows them through their unseen interactions during the “close your eyes” scenes of chapters 1 through 3. The goal of this comic is for these inter-spliced scenes to be able to be read as one flowing “conversation” which characterizes the whole of their relationship, but also for you to be able to read only the panels of each specific scene and be able to read a complete conversation between them there as well, which characterizes the state of their relationship at that point. I’m sure that, if we ever learn what these conversations were about, that they’re probably not really like this at all, but I’m less focused on theory crafting than using these moments where the two no longer have to act a certain way for the player or other characters and are able to speak plainly together to illustrate their complicated situation. Ralsei in Chapter 1 coming on too strong with his, ‘just be a good guy!’ Talk, (not unlike how he did with susie,) then in chapter 2, having spent more time with his friends, expressing his care for them, and in chapter 3 being more understanding because of their growing friendship… only for that to be undercut by the betrayal after a victory against the knight.

I’ll spare you the scroll and keep the rest of my babbling under the cut lol

So, yeah, elephant in the room, this comic considers Kris Slash theory (aka They Slash Them theory) as canon. I know it’s kind of a controversial one, but I really like it at least. I hope this comic has expressed how I find it narratively intriguing and reflective of the characters. Maybe its not for you but I’m not really here to persuade anyone or make a case for it, just to use it :)

Anyways, I love these two so much and I’m so happy to be able to work on a project all about their melodrama. With Susie and the player around, they play the roles of team mates, as simple as that, but they’re both harboring secrets that only the other truly understands. Kris as an ever increasingly regretful double agent, Ralsei who is desperate to avoid to disaster that Kris is going about causing but unsure if he believes he even can. Still, is that ‘act’ just an act? Or is it real in a way? They’re just two kids who are doomed, who have been made to pursue that doom by outside forces, who have been made into adversaries because of it, and yet who can’t help but care about each other anyways because when they’re together (as well as with susie) they’re able to forget about their doom for just a moment. Ughhh my heart!

Thank you informing Big Wiki of the existence of the Mew Mew page. We hope this message can serve as an explanation, not an excuse, for this unnecessary page.

The Mew Mew page is an unfortunate result of how the wikis previously handled NPC pages. Formerly, all minor NPCs were described in lists, with one long page per area. Mew Mew had a section on the long list that was the Hometown NPCs page. These list pages unfortunately received less maintenance when Chapters 3 and 4 were released, so Mew Mew's section was added onto with new Chapter information rather than removed entirely. Then, with the advent of individual minor NPC pages through the New Pages Project, this faulty NPC was given her own page a little under a month ago.

As a result of you bringing the Mew Mew page to our attention, we have put her down. And yes, it was excruciatingly painful.
