I love people who are nothing like the ordinary. The ones who were riding their bikes and skinny dipping and collecting pebbles while everyone else was where everyone else was. People who are raw and chaotic. They won’t know what to say in a conversation but they’ll tell you the physical properties of all nearby planets or play you an instrument or read you their favourite poem. They’ll show you versions of themselves in minute details and roll up their sleeves so you can see their scars. When they speak, they unknowingly say things that awaken an echo in you. When you look at them in the eye you can tell that they’ve been through more than most, but they’re wild and unapologetic, and they will look you in the eye. When you tell them your secret, they’ll treat it like a flower and put it behind their ear. I love people like that, and how could I not? They carry the kind of magic I’ve never seen before; they’ll untie their hair, shake it loose and make you fall in love with them. They’re so beautiful it’s impossible to believe the whole world isn’t pulled toward them the way you are, but because it isn’t so, it makes those people that much more special.

I don't really share posts from my fitness journey on my normal Instagram account, because I figure that not everyone cares. Haha. But, this has become a big part of my life, so I wanted to share this here and invite you (if you're interested!) to follow me on my fitness account at @half_size_holly Down 32 pounds in 3 months! ❤💪❤️ Thank you for your continual support, encouragement, and kind words! They mean more than you know! ❤ #Repost @half_size_holly with @repostapp ・・・ This is what losing 32 pounds looks like! I've been struggling lately, but have really refocused my efforts this past week or so. I should have known, every time I hit a plateau, a breakthrough is just around the corner. Even in the past few days, I can see a difference in my body and why it is so beneficial for me to continue this journey. If you hit a plateau, DON'T LOSE HOPE! Your breakthrough is coming. Stay strong! 💪❤️💪 It's worth it. #halfsizeholly #dietnotdiet #progresspic
Half Birthday cupcakes were a success! Sorry diet, you'll have to wait. A girl doesn't turn 22 1/2 just any day! #halfbirthday #cupcakes #imfeeling22andahalf

Day 2: A Family Member My relationship with my dad will always be special. We have a unique bond, sharing interests, but differing in opinions. But somehow, we still manage to love each other. As I've gotten older, I've realized how important parents are, and I'm grateful to my dad for raising me by himself after my mom got sick. I'm not perfect, but he did his best with a stubborn and difficult daughter, and I'd like to think I turned out okay! No matter how much we disagree with each other, I know he will always love me. ❤️ #gratitudechallenge
Day 1: A Friendship. My friendship with these two ladies kind of came from the middle of nowhere. I had no idea at 22 that I would still be meeting and making new best friends, let alone spend so much time with them. These girls have pulled me through some tough times and I am truly grateful for both of them. We have made so many memories in the past few months, whether it's just by sitting on the couch and watching Netflix, shopping for random things we don't need, or crafting cute projects that we find on Facebook or Pinterest. What better way to start a gratitude challenge than with a treasured friendship? Gratefully, Holly #gratitudechallenge
"A huge part of losing weight is believing you can do it and realizing it's not going to happen overnight." Hang in there, or just keep scrolling, this is going to be a long post, and I'm nervous to put this out there. 😥 Here it goes: last month, I had a physical wake-up call. I started showing symptoms of pre-diabetes. Knowing that this is what cut my grandma's life short, and with the fear of needles, and the though of losing some of my independence, I decided to make a change. I realized that this is the body that my mom GAVE me. It's the only one I'm going to get, and she left it to me to take care of. It has happened slowly, but I have learned so much about food and my body this past month. I started by 20 minutes of exercise per day, and tracking my food and water intake. Each week, as I have felt better than the week before, I have adopted additional "rules". First, it was drop my calorie intake by 100 each week, followed by drinking 10 cups of water per day. Then, I completely stopped drinking soda, and now I have cut out bread products from my diet (say no to simple carbs!). I have also visited my doctor and started a regimen of medication to help keep diabetes away, and to TAKE CHARGE of my health. I feel better, I look better, and some clothes I had buried in the back of my closet now fit. I still have a long long way to go, but by changing my mind and attitude towards food and exercise, I am changing my life. I now track my daily activity, food, water, and caffeine intake and I have not FELT RESTRICTED AT ALL! If I want to have a snack or treat, I will plan the rest of my day around it and really think about how it will impact my body. Sometimes it's worth it, other times it's not. By doing all of this, I'm happy to report that I HAVE LOST 12 POUNDS THIS MONTH!!!!!! It went so fast, and it was absolutely so worth it. To celebrate this little victory, some friends and I hiked Indian Trail today. ❤️ With the love and support of friends and family, I know that I can do this! #thanksforcelebratingwithme! #iloveyou #dietnotdiet #fitnessjourney #halfsizeholly
Just sayin.... My nail girl is awesome. Thank you @haleys_nails! See you in three weeks. :) #fallnails
It's my Bubba's 5th Barkday! I can't wait to get home from school and work to spoil him with treats, new toys, and a pupcake to celebrate! My only regret is that we didn't have him sooner.... Happy 5th Barkday Bentley Briggs! Your furever family loves you!!! 🎂 🎁 🎉
