Join Utthan Trust to end hunger in India India is the home of the largest undernourished population of the world. A lot of people among its huge population are suffering from malnutrition due to lack of food.
Utthan is trying to build a healthy generation for the future without hunger
In India, 15% of its population is considered to be undernourished causing a serious hunger problem. It is ranked 97th amongst 118 developing countries, surveyed for Global Hunger Index (GHI) in 2016 considering population growth, food production, mortality rate, child wasting and stunting rate. This scenario clearly states that India is not in a good position to feed her people adequately. If this condition continues to be moving this way, India, as the third largest economy in Asia will face a lot of problem on its socio-economical growth.
This involves the following conditions:
1. People do not have enough money in hand to buy adequate food for the scarcity of job, thus low per capita income in small villages and remote areas.
2. More than 50% of children are suffering from acute malnutrition and more than 40% are stunting, the symptom that prevents the natural growth of the body which signifies a lot of attack of disease, high child mortality rate and even survives, it leads a weak and less energetic workforce for the future economy.
3. A lot of poor children dropped out from school are engaged in child labor for a minimum wage which does not suffice to their hunger.
4. Population increasing rate is high in remote and underdeveloped societies where the number of heads causes a shortage of food as purchased with the minimum wage.
5. As a whole, it is involving and leading to a generation suffering from malnutrition which might become a liability for the economic growth rather than being an instrument for it.
The government Authorities, both in central and state level are bringing up many projects for ensuring jobs with minimum wages, increasing awareness and supplying foods at a lower cost. However, with respect to the huge population, these are not reaching everyone needed. As per P. K. Joshi, Director, IFPRI, South-East Asia, “India is progressing well, but we have significant challenges ahead”.
NGOs and Social Charitable Trusts are also trying their best within the limit. We invite every Indian to be part of this war against hunger. Utthan Trust, a Government recognized NGO is working in this particular area for years in different states. They are supplying free foods to the poor remote people, street-people in urban areas and poor children working as child labor. They are also initiating free treatments to the children suffering from diseases due to malnutrition. We suggest you visit and work with them to eliminate hunger for at least one strive for a day.

The Education – the best armor against poverty
In rural India, lack of education is one of the most important reasons for people are not getting a good job to earn adequate money and also living a lifestyle with the minimum standard. On the other hand, poverty is the reason why people are not getting educated. This is a vicious cycle that is circling on spontaneously.
Lack of education is not only keeping them out of good jobs but also leading a life without social, behavioral and health awareness. Simply they are not aware of their rights and becoming the result of social injustice everywhere. Also, scarcity of jobs with handful payout and social security leading them to be a terminal, excess and forced labor to unorganized sectors where this uneducated and unskilled workforce is becoming a liability to the economy.
On a vice versa, poverty resists children to go to school and continue with education. Once a child is getting a little elder he or she is set to work for a few amount of money or at least for a meal at the workplace to eliminate hunger. His or her poor family cannot afford the minimum cost of education which stands as an extra payout from their little daily income.
If we really would like to destroy this circumference we have to plan to work in 2 ways:
1. Confirmation of enrolment of every child to the free schools for primary education at least.
2. Let the school be the very best place where they can enjoy, learn with fun. The education system should not be a burden upon them.
3. Arranging attractive incentives, awards and especially mid-day meal project like Government authorities or provide educational stationeries.
4. Arranging Health checkup and arranging minimum nutritious foods to children at school
5. Creating social awareness and counseling for spreading education
6. Bringing up more schools to remote areas to shorten the distance between student and the classroom.
7. If the Government cannot afford to do all these things everywhere, which is almost impossible, NGOs should have to come up with the help of common people of the society.
On the other hand,
1. Adult education and job oriented education programs could be implemented with the support of scope of work so that excess labor from unorganized sector could be diverted to other income generating sectors.
2. Adults of the family should have to be counseled well regarding the limitless advantage of education how it could be the best weapon to fight against poverty.
Utthan Trust, as a Government registered NGO in India trying to accomplish these activities as their duties in different states of India. Utthan has taken many of the aforesaid projects as its current activities in short run and planning to launch others shortly in long run. It is their mission to bring a smile to every face by eliminating poverty with the light of education.
Utthan Trust has sorted out many causes of poverty and suffering in poor people. They have designated some tasks as primary objectives to work on as it was well understood that they cannot eliminate the causes of poverty within a night from this huge number of people lying below the poverty line.
Social service to eliminate the curse of poverty in India
Poverty is a curse to the society, in a larger sense to the entire nation. It runs within a vicious cycle to make a result of own cause to be poor. In India, 276 million people, 22% of its population is lying under the poverty line that signifies with earning $1.25 or INR 100 per head per day. Along with that there is a huge pressure of ever increasing population and improper distribution of social assets, power and opportunity to a few smaller number people. However, if we consider the parameter of poverty line 80% of the poor people are living in rural areas. In urban areas, the scenario is a little better as the infrastructure and earning scopes are better in cities. In small villages, the 43% of people are people whereas in remote areas it is uncountable or would not come under the statistics. The social injustice also has caused the cast degradation which shows that 43% of poor Indians are belong to scheduled castes and tribes where they only cover 28% of the total population. The gradual increment in the number of non-organized sectors, especially in rural areas, is one of the main causes of typical low income scenarios. In rural areas, 95% of the total population has either negligibly small or marginal areas to live or homeless. Lack of education is also has been a prime parameter of cursed vicarious cycle of poverty. In remote and smaller villages, scope of education is too low or truly not available. In jungle, hilly areas, and desserts or in coastal lands, the tribal castes have no sense or feel no importance of school education. Even in small villages, there are a few school education scopes where students are bound to drop out at a very tender age to get a job to earn a little money to feed in hunger.
Considering the elimination of poverty, we who live above the poverty line and have been enriched with a few significance of a healthy life are acting as careless and irresponsible to certain things. We may have going through some limits to work for a social cause after feeding our own demands of life, however, at the end of the day, we do nothing but only blame Government and doubt upon the activities of charitable trusts. If we decide to do something for our men, it is not only a social call; it is a spiritual call comes from very within to provide some services to the society, to raise your hand to pull someone up. Now, it is the time when we are supposed to take the call from our very within to do some charitable aid to the society, especially to pull up the poor which will also confirm the socio-economic development of our nation. This is a task that you are not in for income but for the outcome!

Utthan trust brings the hope of life to the poor people
There are many examples of poor people suffering from many painstaking causes around us. We, being at our own situation, cannot look upon them. If there were a social call from everyone to provide some aid for the betterment of needy people, the shape of the world around us would have been changed. Three Delhi University graduates Abhishek Kumar Tiwari, Sunny Chaubey and Preeti Sing thought their mission of life to dedicate for the betterment of poor people. Instead of searching for jobs after pass outs they started working together for social causes. Beginning with this they have for an organization called Utthan Trust which is spreading out to different states of India with the motto of working for needy people. With the significance of their spontaneous social work, the organization has been enlisted as an NGO with Government of India.
Utthan Trust has sorted out many causes of poverty and suffering in poor people. They have designated some tasks as primary objectives to work on as it was well understood that they cannot eliminate the causes of poverty within a night from this huge number of people lying below the poverty line. People do not have proper places to stay; numerous homeless people are cursed to live on pavements. There are many who cannot arrange adequate food for a single meal every day. Also, numerous people are suffering from different diseases without knowing cause and treatment procedures for lack of health awareness. Even aware, they cannot afford for the treatment as there are many places having a far distance from health units. Also, there is no provision for critical care treatments at free for people who cannot arrange food for a day. They also run a vicious cycle of poverty due to lack of education. Firstly, there exists a little scope for the education; secondly, children coming from such existence drop out from school and goes for an unhealthy low-payment job to earn a few for the living.
Utthan Trust, within their certain limit as of now, is trying to do a lot of things in these prime sectors of poverty. They have many objectives planned to be implemented in future with the growth of the organization as more money, more social and administrative support and more infrastructure are required. Utthan Trust running a few permanent medical camps in remote areas of a few states where free doctor’s consultation, minimum therapeutic measures, medicines, supplements, health care products and health awareness advice are provided. These camps have minimized the distance between poor ill people in the remote area and health clinic. The trust is running a number of education camps providing free tuition aids and educational stationeries to stop forced school dropouts. They are also running many relief programs including providing free food to the street living homeless people, penny less poor and child labors.
There are certain blocks in continuation of such work due to infrastructural scarcity. However, Utthan Trust is carrying on their duties with a mission of bringing smile to every face.
