Writing a story is so much harder than drawing it honestly I don’t know how authors do it

What do you mean you have to describe what your characters look like with WORDS. Can’t they just… figure that out? Why do I have to write an entire sentence if I want my characters to do anything?? How does that make any sense? I’d draw a thousand backgrounds over having to spend time writing a goddamn paragraph to set the scene smh

That’s funny because as an aspiring author I feel the opposite way. Words are like bricks, you just keep stacking them methodically, it’s easy but sometimes tedious.

What do you mean artists can just SHOW things? Like… you see it in your head and manage to somehow translate that image onto paper? You can just… get across what you want people to see without spending an hour trying to pick out the right words?? What is this witchcraft??

I have always supported the idea of acceptance toward people of all genders, sexualities, and races. I do not think racism and LGBT-phobia are okay.

I have always stood up against the act of bullying. I do not think it builds character.

I think the raid that happened at the Capitol building was a terrorist attack. I do not think it was an act of justice.

I think children acting out because of a traumatic event need help from those who can help them. I do not think they’re abusive, or bratty.

So in case you’re curious…

I do not support SquigglyDigg’s views, and I will not stand by her.

Statement on Squigglydigg

Hey everyone.  On account of recent events, me and the team find it necessary to make a public statement on the situation.  Squigglydigg, who previously did freelance on “The Future” video will not be returning for any position of production on any project related to Mystery Skulls Animated. 

She was brought on as freelance, among a group of other freelancers, roughly a year ago.  Her input on the project itself did not extend beyond her given roll as an animator.  Regardless, the views expressed by her in no way reflect the views of the small, core MSA team or anyone else who participated in any leg of production.  I wish to personally denounce such statements as much as possible.  These views are extremely irresponsible and dangerous. 

We will be placing an open call for freelance animators in the near future as expected.  For anyone harmed by the toxicity this situation presented, I wish to personally extend an apology to those effected.  We will strive to make sure this kind of scenario does not happen again.

From the trailer it looks more like Narnia and The Golden Compass has a baby than it does like, y’know….The Nutcracker.

Which is sad, because it actually could be an interesting concept if it wasn’t using the Nutcracker name. Sort of like how Frozen would have dodged a lot of its controversy if it hadn’t pretended to be a retelling of The Snow Queen.

If people wanted a movie that is a pretty faithful adaptation of the story I’d suggest Barbie and the Nutcracker. I will admit I’m not completely sure of the story as a whole but as far as I know it’s pretty close. Actually a lot of the Barbie fairy tale movies are fairly close to the source material I’m sad that they aren’t making more tbh

BatN is faithful probably to the ballet (I have read both Hoffmann’s (og) and Dumas’ (he ‘translated’ it to french with some editing to appeal more to the french audience) stories and they’re both pretty similar and only really share the very beginning with the Barbie movie and most likely the ballet from what I’ve seen (however the Dumas version confuses me because people attribute more changes to it than I’ve seen in the version I’ve read so maybe theres several versions or everyone is confused)

Makes sense because the og story involved stuff like Marie (Clara) nearly losing her arm from tetanus, references to slavery and not many action scenes and everything but the end after the battle is in Marie’s house and the barbie movie went more of the ballet route with the Tchaikovsky music and the fantasy world because the ballet is what people know and love (the music is pretty cool after all)
