Yuri!!! on Ice #12 || Yuri Plisetsky Gold Medal Winner

open || @uverennost
Leg sticking out to one side to balance his bike while it was stationary, Otabek scrolled down the latest updates on his Instagram news, expression deadpan as he browsed through the influx of Christmas and celebration pictures flashing up. Most of his feed was people showing off the various gifts they’d received from loved ones. International colleagues mainly, as back home his family and friends had yet to commemorate the occasion which took place a little later on.
Every so often his gaze would dart to the corner of the screen where the clock was counting down the minutes until he’d be joined by a more recent addition to his select friendship group. When the time displayed only a couple minutes remaining until Yuri was supposed to arrive, he leaned back into the cushioned leather seat, attention diverting to his surroundings.
It wasn’t long from then until the familiar sight of animal prints and pale blond hair came into view, inviting the subtle nuances of a smile to form on his lips, hand extended in greeting.
“Zdravstvuyte, Yuri.”
“It’s good to see you again.” In the flesh at least, they communicated often enough through diverse channels of social media.
To say Yuri was excited to see his only friend was only a small understatement. He had never known the problem with making friends through skating, but the reality of how far away competitions and exhibitions were in dates became evident to the young skater once he was forced to spend an undisclosed amount of time away from that friend whom he appreciated. It was by luck alone that they two happened to arrive in the same city, both with plans to stay for a while. Yuri had to keep reminding himself that their time spent together would not be bittersweet this time, that he didn’t have to hurry to meet up with Otabek just so they would have more time face to face.
Of course, regardless of if he had to hurry or not, didn’t change the fact that he wanted to arrive on time.
Seeing his friend stationed alongside his motorcycle, Yuri held in the smile that he reserved only for a few select people (Otabek included), making sure to glare pointedly at a kid that he passed before picking up speed as he neared the Kazakh skater. Finally, hearing the other greet him, the cheetah-print clad blond grinned and waved.
“Привет!” He replied simply, unable to help how genuine his smile became around the first person he’d ever made friends with. Yuri was all energy and excitement, although he did his best to contain it in the presence of his more reserved company. “Yeah, definitely. There’s only so much texting can make up for these days ~.”

"Maybe having an inflatable snowman next to our spiked fence wasn't such a good idea."
meme // not accepting.
“Yeah... you might be right.” Yuri admitted quietly, gazing out the window at the now punctured snowman, flapping in the cold winter air. It had caught on the fence earlier, causing a large rip too big for any of the patches from the kit to save their inflatable. The only reason it hadn’t toppled over completely was the tethers keeping it pinned in place, and the constant stream of air from the pump that was making it spasm in the air. After another moment of watching it however, Yuri started to sputter with laughter, the sound foreign on his own tongue as he struggled to keep a lid on it.
“Seriously...! Look at it!” He said in between giggles, before clamping a hand over his own mouth to hide the rest of his laughter.
"Care for a little bit of Christmas songs? No? Well, too bad!"
meme // not accepting.
“Oi! Turn that shit off before I break your phone, Katsudon.” Yuri spoke with a bite to his words, eyebrow twitching in annoyance as he regarded the Japanese skater. However, it didn’t seem that Yuuri would be deterred quite so easily, further testing Yuri’s patience despite the cheery holiday music playing.
With a growl, Yuri promptly removed himself from the other’s living room couch, making a beeline for the door to leave. He had agreed to come over and spend some time at Yuuri and Viktor’s place: but what he had not agreed to was being assaulted by shitty holiday music.
“I’m leaving!”

People shine brightest when they seek to understand what kind of love sustains them.
Christmas ||Starter Sentences||
"Oh, my gosh, it's snowing!"
"Don't hang that there! Are you crazy?!"
"It's Christmas, don't be so down. Have fun!"
"Are you sure you have enough to buy that for him/her? It is pretty expensive, and you don't get your next paycheck til the week after Christmas."
"Care for a little bit of Christmas songs? No? Well, too bad!"
"Okay, who spiked the eggnog?!"
"Please don't act crazy like you did last Christmas... that was a disaster."
"Hey, in my defense, I had too much sugar, alright?!"
"What are you doing? Get down from there before you tangle yourself in the lights!"
"SANTA CLAUS IS ON FIRE!!"
"Maybe having an inflatable snowman next to our spiked fence wasn't such a good idea."
"We're out of cookies, but do you think Santa will settle for a salad?"
"No, no, no, you're supposed to put the lights on BEFORE the ornaments!"
"I did the star last time, it's your turn now."
"Your present's going to be a bit late... 9 months late, so to speak."
"Worst. Christmas. EVER."
"Y'know how you get a bit crazy on Christmas Eve? Yeah, don't do that this year."
"This is the best Christmas I've ever had in my entire life.."
"You missed the present-opening!"
"Time to open up the gifts!"
"You know what would be a great way to end this night? You and me, our clothes on the bedroom floor... get what I'm hinting at?"
"This is the ugliest sweater I've ever worn... I love it!"
"I just want to make someone else have a good Christmas."
"We can't really afford anything good this Christmas..."
"No, you're dressing up as Santa this year for the kids."

「Coach Yakov」 by nabilaini96 Posted here with the artist’s permission. DO NOT REMOVE THE CAPTION!
an important question
So,, obviously my goals for Yurio aren’t for him to attend his competition in Troques & then leave for good. I mean, especially with the final episode of the season, I have zero plans on getting rid of this muse (which was a possibility when I first took him, having not known how attached I would get).
Anyways, that all being said, I do want to make it clear that I plan to slowly move Yurio into a permanent residence in Bellevue and start him in high school in the city (yay no more online classes--). Most other YOI muses seem to be on off-season and so I’ll be altering Yurio a little to fit that, after his competition in Troques. Likely, I’ll have to explain it as... everyone else is showing up in Bellevue, so despite his best efforts to deny it, he does understand it’s the best place for him. Especially since Viktor & Yuuri are present ;3
He’ll have permission from his coaches, of course. Since I’ll be fitting him into the off-season plotline, he’ll likely be acting as a regular high school student / teenager living alone in the big city. If anyone would like to plot out potential friendships/rivalries/anything else, please feel free to contact me any time. I plan to have Yurio around for a while, and as much as the boy is happy with his one Kazakh friend, he does need more people in his life.
Yurio will most likely be in Oakville Academy and residing in the dorms (since an apartment is a bit much for a young figure skater, who is also the primary provider for his family back in Russia), so even a roommate would be pretty cool.
My IMs, Skype, and inbox are always open. Please don’t be shy to contact me for future plans!
I just wanted to draw the undercuts…..
Bonus:
I’ll have to complete the rest of my replies later, as I’m heading out for a bit & then the new episode will be on! Sorry to those I’m keeping waiting: I promise I’ll have my replies done in time for Christmas :)

“Oh, are you even going to be able to reach that far. That would be an impressive feat of flexibility, little Yuri.” JJ said, still unable to read the atmosphere. In truth he did respect Yuri’s flexibility quite a bit, it was too bad that his appreciation could only come out as posturing. “Ah, well why would you want to hang out with me, that’s a good question….”
“Because I’m me?” JJ tilted his head and winked. After all who would not want to hang out with the king? He was sure, if the two of them hung out Yuri could learn a lot from a person such as him. Besides it was nice, rivalries, friendly competitiveness, sports was all about that sort of thing.
JJ only ever seemed to keep within his own circle though. He never got to enjoy that sort of thing in the past. Bellevue was a new town where not a lot of people knew him though, no longer would others be drowned out in the cheers of his overwhelming plans.
He could tell already though, Yuri was not going to be persuaded by his excellent charisma alone. He tapped on his chin and thought for a moment. “Oh, here’s another reason. Viktor quite dislikes me you know, I bet if you hung out with me for awhile neither Viktor nor Yuri would bother you.”
“Get ready to be impressed then, maple leaf.” Yuri said, though he neglected to kick the other. JJ wasn’t worth the effort it would take to lift his leg for a kick, and striking the other would only support the idea that he believed JJ to be worth his time and energy. The Canadian pissed him off: that was a given, with his obnoxious attitude and persistence. Of course, Yuri was no stranger to being slightly obnoxious -- he was a fifteen year old, who had stood on the same stage as people nearly twice his age. He broke world records, nailed his routines. In his mind, he had every reason to be cocky about it.
Yuri refused to admit that JJ was in the same position.
But, he made a good point. If he was with JJ, it was likely that neither Viktor nor his Katsudon partner would even come near them, willingly. The arrangement could work out well for him... but only if he could put up with JJ’s presence.
“Next question.” Yuri said suddenly, leaning forward as he peered up at JJ. Wrinkling his nose, the Russian frowned deeply, “why do you want to hang out with me? The only thing we have in common is skating.”

Mila looked at the doors that surrounded her, looking for a specific room as she did so. Her modeling job had taken her to the Secrets Hotel and Casino for a photoshoot. Coincidentally, a close friend of hers was staying at the hotel and after a short conversation with the receptionist, she had discovered his room number.
Her eyes brightened up as she saw the room, marching up to it, she took a deep breath and began to knock.
“Room service!” Mila decided to mess around, she had always done so around the person who was inside the room.
He didn’t order room service. Letting out a sigh, Yuri rose from his place on his bed, phone clutched in his hand from where he paused in scrolling through his instagram feed. He contemplated simply answering the door and shooing off the attendant in a brutal assault of Russian, knowing it was unlikely they would be able to understand. However, he then remembered Lilia’s constant scolding of his attitude, and he certainly didn’t want to deal with her finding out he was rude to another member of the hotel’s staff.
He resigned himself to the fact that he would have to open the door. Yuri unlocked the door and pulled it open with a huge sigh, as if the sheer effort it took to answer the door was beyond his capabilities. Staring down at his phone still, the blond leaned against the side of the open door, without sparing his visitor a single glance.
“Wrong room,” dipshit. He spoke gruffly, “I didn’t order any --”
Looking up from his phone, the teenager nearly dropped his phone in surprise as he recognized who was standing there. His first instinct was to shut the door in her face.
“Get lost, hag!” He said loudly, before swiftly moving from the door to try and close it, although he knew he would already be too late. He was lucky Yakov wasn’t back yet -- otherwise he’d already be in trouble.
