Cute haul with @softnsour Had lots of fun today, hope you enjoy my gifts.
sephora tips!
so I’ve had a couple requests for sephora tips, and I’ve decided to make a sort of guide, which I’ll add to over time.
- never ever just go in, lift, and leave, unless you’re grabbing something and leaving immediately. I mean just one thing. this is suuuuuper sus.
- look around and test out shades. if an SA approaches you, always have a question ready. “I’m looking for a more full coverage foundation, I want a very blue red lipstick, etc.” make that question about something you’ll be near while lifting, so if you hang around it isn’t as sus.
- test, test, test. look interested in makeup, and new to high end stuff. wide eyes are better than bored ones.
- carry a bag from somewhere else that’s deep enough to shut at the top. ex. forever 21 bags.
- I find it helps to carry a smaller purse, and have like, a hat or a pair of gloves or something (in the winter), that you can shuffle around in the bag, so if an SA spots you mid-conceal, or comes around a corner, etc, you can grab your gloves/hat/etc and put them on like you’re getting ready to leave the mall.
- listen to SA’s on their headsets. sometimes they will be staring at someone and saying something like “so and so needs a bag.” most of the time they’re just asking each other if they have specific items in stock.
- never lift from a JC penny Sephora. period.
- if you lift from sephora and feel weird after, go to a place people usually don’t go, like in a tailor shop or quilts etc. go some place mall security wouldn’t look for a young person, or a person like you, and then leave the mall. no, don’t go lifting more. leave. now. come back another week.
- it helps to be carrying something expensive with you, or wearing it. I have an Aldo bag that works, but I’ve also seen Chanel or D&G sunglasses work. look expensive. have expensive taste.
- if an SA asks you what you’re wearing for makeup now, to “help you find the answer to the question you asked them”, always say something expensive. “oh just Nars Sheer Glow and a little Bare Minerals powder.” fake expensive taste, and you’ll seem less sus.
- wear lipstick in a noticeable shade. I’m not kidding. wearing a bright bold lip will make it look like you know what you’re doing. if you don’t, go in on a day you won’t be lifting (from sephora), and ask for a tutorial on how to do a lip. colours I’ve had work best (to make SA’s leave me alone, are bold reds, dark reds, black, violet, and bold pink. I haven’t tried unnatural shades like Lilac or blue yet, but I assume they’ll get a similar response. this is actually my best tip, because brows and lips are so high up on what customers ask about, and their highest-sold items.
- don’t wear headphones. I dunno why, but every time I’ve been in while wearing headphones I’ve been customer serviced to death. might just be my area, but I’d recommend against them.
- don’t wear a beanie. you look slubbish. you want to give off the air you’re a bad bitch and they can go help other people.
- wear heels. you look classier, and you’ll be followed less cause SA’s will always feel like they know where you are (if not what you’re doing).
- don’t go in with a fucking shoebox in a bad. it just makes them watch you, because they so obviously can’t see in the box and it’s an obvious conceal container. use a bag with clothing, not jewelry or anything, but clothing in it. don’t lift using a shoebox at a small-size item store jfc.
- take pictures. if an SA shows you a product and won’t go away, take a picture of said item. you’ll look genuinely interested.
- if you’re about to leave but feel like someone is maybe onto you, stop and play with a foundation. ask for help finding your shade, and ask for a sample. the whole process takes so long that an LP usually gets less sus, if you act sincerely interested. talk about your current foundation (use an expensive one,) and say it breaks you out a bit, or dries you out. make it sound worse. have a conversation.
- when leaving, do not look around at other people. do not. ever. always go from looking at a product, checking your phone/the time, then leave. this works well. it also works to fake a phone call, saying “yeah, I’m just in sephora, I’m leaving in two seconds. where did you want to meet? okay! see you soon.” mentioning the store is actually pretty helpful.
- be fucking nice. always. not drippingly sweet, but nice.
if anyone has any tips, send them my way and I’ll add on to this list!!
****these are in no way foolproof. always be aware of what’s going on around you, take note of who SA’s are helping!!
Does anyone recommend using a tote?
SEPHORA Tips
This is going to be a bit like the Abercrombie post I just did, except that I don’t know the policy for Sephora so this is mainly just tips and techniques.
Sephora is one of those stores with SA who breath down your neck, give you suspicious looks, and judge you based on your appearance. Or at least that’s how it is in my location. Now don’t get my wrong. They have excellent makeup tips and can match you with your perfect foundation shade, but they can be so annoying when you’re trying to lift. So the first impression you make can really be important.
- Wear neutral colored clothing (white, grey, navy), nothing that will stand out on camera. - Dress in a slightly preppy style (a blouse with a collar will go a long way), people who look respectable and professional are less likely to be suspected - Wear heels! This is helpful because it can deter SA from tailing around behind you because the sound of your heels will make them feel like they know where you are, but they can’t see you concealing! - Do your makeup! Pay extra attention to your eyebrows and your lipstick. Wear a brightly colored lipstick. For whatever reason, they trust you more if you’re wearing bright lipstick. It’s something I’ve noticed myself and heard other lifters talking about.
Now, the SA in Sephora will try to talk to you. They’ll ask you questions when you come in and see if you need any help. Don’t be intimidated at first-they probably don’t suspect you as they do this to everyone. However, if they continue to do this throughout your shopping trip without any provocation-GET OUT. They probably suspect you. Also, the code for a suspected shoplifter is to say “so and so needs a basket”. This is often accompanied by the SA trying to force you to take a shopping basket. At this point, get out! They suspect you.
Now, onto technique. This can be pretty hard in Sephora. You’re pretty much limited to concealing on the floor, and between the other customers, SA, and cameras (which are monitored!), it’s the technique that creates the thin line between success and prosecution for shoplifting. You have to look natural! I like to bring a friend with me just because it both makes the SA less sis and as part of my exit plan.
My technique for Sephora: -Hang a structured shopping bag from another store one one arm. Have some clothing at the bottom-your coat or something you bought at another store will do. This is where you will be putting your stolen items-the clothing in the bag is to add structure and prevent the bag from making a crinkling noise when you drop something in. -From the same arm, hang a Sephora shopping basket. You can ask an employee for one of these when you come in. -Walk around the store-look natural. This is one of the most important parts. Don’t look nervous. Don’t take random products. Look at labels, test shades on the back of your hand, do things normal shoppers would do. -When you see a product you like, take two of the same product very discreetly. Drop one into your shopping bag and one into your basket. Since they are on the same level, doing this in one movement will look natural. -For bigger products, still take a duplicate, but walk around the area holding them in a position where looks like you are only holding one until you come to a blind spot. Here, very quickly drop one of the items into your bag and continue carrying around the other, putting it into your basket as usual. -If you can’t find blind spots, I’ve found that a good thing to do is when you turn a corner, quickly drop an item into your bag. Or you can do this while turning around, taking something out of your purse, or adjusting your clothing. Any extra movement that distracts from your concealing! -When you’re done, fake a phone call or a text. Tell the friend you’re with that you’re late to meet someone and mention something about ordering the products online when you get home. Say it loudly enough that the SA will hear. Then. Put your basket by the door and head on out.
Hope you all enjoyed these tips, please be careful and enjoy your new products!

The Zip printer was destiny. I’ve really wanted one for awhile and it literally fell into my hands. Like really, I knocked something over at Target and it fell. It wasn’t spider wrapped or tagged in anyway so … Yup. It’s mine now. Also showed some of the dog stuff. Normally I don’t bother posting but I just love my dog so much???? Also, language books are too expensive. And one of the socks already ripped so … 😭 😭 😭

Things that will make the lp watch you

Nervousness. Fidgety body movements and looking anxious. Constantly looking from side to side or looking around at other shoppers and employees. Facial expressions of worry, such as wide open eyes, raised eyebrows and crinkled foreheads and gaping mouth. This is usually seen immediately after concealment has already occurred and eye contact is made with the suspect. Releasing nervous tension through exercises such as stretching, cracking knuckles, rotating arms. Walking faster or slower then normal customers. Entering the store and proceeding directly to an area at a brisk pace while eyeballing customers. Walking around the store briskly through aisles while carrying merchandise, attempting to not be seen or followed by associates while concealing the merchandise Refusing assistance from store staff and obviously avoiding contact with others. Asking an associate for directions to an item or department, then proceeding in the opposite direction. Asking an associate unusual questions about merchandise. Removing security tags. Peeling off price stickers. Constantly looking at security cameras. Ducking down and out of employees’ or cameras’ view. Uninterested in shopping. Repeatedly picking up random items with no interest and putting them back. Selecting multiple merchandise at a high rate of speed and not checking prices or sizes. Wandering around store, handling items, lingering here and there, without doing any real shopping. Removing merchandise from one department and depositing it in another, then walking away; creating a depository of merchandise for a later theft. Removing hangers from clothes for no apparent reason. Double hanging clothes. Placing clothing inside of other clothing. Hiding merchandise behind other merchandise. Carrying large seemingly empty purses, bags, or back packs. Placing purse/bag opened in the child seat area of the shopping cart. Large or open purses and shopping bags carried on the arm or shoulder. Handling of bags, backpacks, at the same time glancing around. Carrying a shopping bag from a store that is not in the same shopping center. Carrying items around the store then going into out-of-the-way areas. Constantly walking into a hidden area (Blind Spot) from the view of security. Entering a store empty handed and staring at the Returns desk. Removing a crumpled receipt from their pocket, matching to items on shelf. Suddenly walks quickly to an exit without making a purchase. Opening a wallet and showing cash, in attempt to alleviate suspicion. Wears bulky, heavy clothing during warm weather or coats when unnecessary. Wearing baggy or oversized cloths, hoodies and backpacks. Wearing sunglasses in the store. Caring umbrellas or wearing fake casts. Pushing wheelchairs, and baby strollers. Enters a dressing room or rest rooms with merchandise and then exits with nothing. Repeatedly sends sales staff away by asking for other sizes or colors or distract you with constant chatter. Quickly enter change rooms with a large number of clothes, so staff are not able to check the number of items taken. Backing into a parking space. Leaving the trunk of the car cracked. Leaving another person in the car or at the front of the store. A group entering a store at the same time and then splitting up or come in the same car but enter the store at different times.
Aw shit, I do a lot of these lmao. Bless this post.
the other day my friend told me that theyre starting to ban plastic shopping bags around the city, which practically means we're allowed to bring & use our own bags .... which means >:3c

by lifting, you’re not doing anything wrong. lifting from corporations is a victimless crime with no harm being done to any one person, business, or company. losses are accounted for in the already established price, any empty threats being made towards employees are not only illegal, but MUCH WORSE than any “crime” a lifter can commit. employers want to turn the working class against themselves in order for them to become more reliant on the upper class. any self-righteous employee who brags about catching shoplifters and tells them how much they’re hurting the business, has been brainwashed into thinking their own class is against them when it’s in fact the upper class who manipulates them, steals from them, and forces them into working below minimum wage and for what ? so that the employers can rake in hundreds of thousands of dollars a day off the backs of children and underpaid workers ? that’s fucking bullshit.
your employer is not your friend, they will literally fuck you over at any given time, for any reason. they just dont want to take the blame so they point it towards other working class people.
despicable. i hope my fellow friends and comrades eventually see that corporations are their enemies and nothing more.
planning a fat haul in class like 💸☁️✨☁️💫☁️🛍🙇♀️🤑☁️✨☁️💫☁️💸
WATCH OUT IF YOU’RE ABOUT TO LIFT INSTAX FILM! They have soft tags hidden inside them! If you want to lift this just open the box up remove the tag, throw it out and conceal the item. (Btw this was bought so I didn’t lift anything)
Good luck and stay safe xoxo
Important!
concealing tip!!
idk this has been posted before, but i havent seen it and thought of it last night
you could wear black skinny jeans and put a black hair tie around one or both of the bottom of the legs and slip small stuff in there, and if it falls down your pant leg, it wont fall out!! this would only really work with small stuff since it would show if you had bigger stuff. if you were nervous about them seeing the hair tie, you could wear boots or shoes that would cover it, and it would be better since they couldnt see that you had something down there if it was showing!!
idk if this is stupid or not, but why not
