âWell, of course. I did say âhey pretty girlâ, didnât I?â
âYou did, but I didnât think you were talking to me. I didnât think people actually started conversations like that.â
âThey usually donât. People think it makes things awkwardâ

âBoard games? What are we, ten? And no gossip.. But drinking games, I could do that.â
âYou clearly have never played a good board game, but Iâll let you be. Which drinking game do you like?â
silence in the library; vincent and aureliano
aurelianoxacosta:
Aureliano was starting to suspect his anonymous source wasnât so difficult to track as he had thought. It had started simply with the name. Notes signed âViviâ told Aureliano that he wasnât dealing with multiple people, but with one person who wanted to be remembered by him â meaning, of course, that whoever it was, was a fan of the gossip column. Those people were few enough in number to narrow things down a bit, until he had just about twenty potential sources. And then, around formal, had come the realization that the informant was not, in fact, a random student, but was a Quidditcher as well. A Quidditcher on the main or reserve team, which meant that it was one of three. Vivian Fletcher, a Slytherin girl; Viola Davis, a Gryffindor; and Vincent Newton, the Ravenclaw Chaser. And if Aureliano were putting down money, it would be on Vincent.
Which was why Vincent had caught his attention in the library that afternoon. There was no doubt in his mind, of course, that the reason the boy appeared to be listening so intently was because he had brought up Aislinn recently, that he thought Aislinn might have something else large revealed about her already, and he was digging for something else. Something new, something interesting, something⌠distracting. The girls werenât offering it, evidently, for Vincent moved â and noticed Aureliano staring, which he hadnât meant to do. Flushing briefly, he looked down at his parchment and cleared his throat before looking back up with a small grin. âI, uh. Yeah, Iâm fine, no worries. Iâm just⌠working on this bit for the paper is all. The Beatâs been slow, so weâve gotten more attention at the Prophet. The Witch seems to be running out of tips lately. I wonder what her informantâs got up to, donât you?â
Vincent was a little surprised by the comment, but if anything it inspired him to hint his own suspicions towards Aureliano. He was down to three suspects now, Aureliano and two fifth years from his house, but he was betting on Aureliano, and this was the perfect moment to find out if he was indeed involved with the Beat. âMaybe if you and the witch thought less of the assistant and more on the other students she wouldnât run out of stories, would she?â
He had been so close to saying âheâ, but that would turn it a little too aggressive for a semi-passive comment.Â
colette-barnes:
âThatâs what I was counting on⌠I donât know, what do you suggest?â

dmweasley:
âSorry, were you talking to me?â
âWell, of course. I did say âhey pretty girlâ, didnât I?â
chasingweasleys:
âHm? Sorry, distracted,â he said, clicking his phone shut. âWhatâs up?â
âEhh, not much. I hate the magicer update, makes things harder to heart and stuffâ
colette-barnes:
âI donât want to deal with drama, I just want to have some fun.â
âThen you came to the right place, Colette. What kind of fun do you want to have?â
noralance:
âI cannot believe you just said that.âÂ
âWhat? Why? I think it was a rather suave move, yâknow?â
silence in the library; vincent and aureliano
Vincent was sitting next to some fifth years, almost glaring at his parchment as he waited for them to change their topic (Aislinnâs pregnancy, of course) to something that was yet to be reported to the Gossip Witch. She (or he, apparently) had been running out of topics lately (cue students discussing something that happened two months ago), which meant he was failing.Â
He wasnât one of her minions (officially, at least) but heâd been a loyal reader and collaborator since fifth year. But this year he just wasnât getting it right. He felt like people were more closed about everything, which made his job way harder. The only thing he had was Angusâs letter, which had made him a little teary and everything, so he was a little weary about sending it. But he was running out of ideas and in some way, out of time. The Gossip Witch had said she/he knew something about Aislinn. Something new that would probably stress her even more. He needed to try to give her some calm time before that happened. He needed to find something big. This were his thoughts as he changed tables when he realized the girls werenât going to change the topic anytime soon. He decided to go to a table where a bunch of Hufflepuffs from his year were seated, and he tried to listen to what they were saying. It wasnât long until he realized Aureliano was looking at him strangely. âHey, mate. You alright?â
âOkay, I have literally no idea where youâre going with this story, but Iâm willing to pay you to get to the point.â
âGod, Hadley, you shouldâve told me you were in a hurry. I only need you to give me back the red ink I gave you in potions on Thursday.â
âWow, glad to see you have so much faith in us..â
âRosalyn! Hello! didnât  see you there...â
âLook, itâs not that I donât have faith in you. I just... I donât know how to explain it.â
House Pride || Bridget & Vincent
Did she just hear that right? Did she actually just hear those words come out of Vincentâs mouth? âIâm glad I didnât get to narrate this. Narrating your houseâs loss is always kinda embarrassingâ. Bridget knew that Vincent wasnât always the most optimistic when it came to these types of things, well things in general, but it would be nice if for a change he would actually show a little bit of support for his house.Standing back a little bit, Bridget stood and tried to listen to what was going on, but at last, she got nothing. She honestly should be getting ready to finish up the match, but she couldnât let this go. She was tired of everyone doubting her team, especially their fellow house mates.
When the other student had left Vincentâs side, Bridget was quick to move next to him. âVincent, can I have a word with you?â She thought sheâd at least be polite enough and ask first, maybe he had somewhere to be. But since Louis was filling in his spot today, Bridget knew better then that. âI couldnât help but over hear you talking back there. I mean, you do know weâre winning right now, right? And the match is almost over, I heard the reserve almost has the snitch. We have a pretty good chance of winning this thing.â
Vincent was the type of person who couldnât hold back his tongue when he was pissed. Most of the time, that was almost harmless; he wasnât that rude and at least he didnât punch things and attack first years or kick cats. But as soon as the words came out of his mouth, he kind of regretted them. Not because he thought the team had a chance, but because they had been having a rough game. And the last thing they needed was their house openly turning on them. Also, after all the things he did to them in the Hogwartâs Beat name, he kind of owed them the niceness, which is why he was extremely ashamed of himself when Bridget stopped him.
âUm, sure Bridgeâ He said, suddenly feeling like he was at loss of air. He scratched the back of his neck and avoided her eyes. The floor seemed to be judging him too, so he just looked around the room as he replied. âIâm sorry I just... I was upset. And I said it without thinking. You know Iâm never a Mr. Brightside and it just... seemed accurate in that momentâ
"Iâm glad I didnât get to narrate this. Narrating your houseâs loss is always kinda embarassingâ
âOh no, I wouldnât ditch my date. He was hard enough to even get. Â Heâs probably dancing with one of his friends.â
âFor a pretty and smart girl like you? Unlikely.â
canât you tell?; vincent & aureliano
Vincent looked at Aureliano from his side of the room, not really paying attention to his current conversation. He was trying to picture the other boy as the mastermind behind the Gossip Witch, but it wasnât really working. He was sure it would if the suit made Aureliano look more like a Bond Villain and less like⌠well, a hot teenager.
After getting tired of being ignored, his conversational partner decided to leave, and after making sure Aureliano was alone, he decided to walk towards him, not sure weather he wanted to question him or not. If he really were the Gossip Witch, he wouldnât know what to do, or say. âHey, you actually are as hot as I expected you to be, I mean, you donât have boobs but you have nice eyes!â  or  âAhhh!! I need to tell Aislinn!â were pretty bad reactions. Also, if he unmasked the witch, there was a pretty big chance he would be unmasking himself as âViviâ (which wouldnât be so bad if heâd limited himself to asking instead of spilling secrets, too).
âHey, mate. Whatâs up? Enjoying the party?â He greeted as he approached
do you want to date aislinn?
I have a special area dedicated to aislinn in my heart; the friend zone. She has been my best friend for like, two or three years and I am very platonically in love with her. So, no I wouldnât date her.Â
((Also, she and Lox are sometimes a cute couple, but donât tell them I think that.))
