Life outside seems easier than the 'prison life' we endure in Gaza. I try to imagine other places where life is difficult, but I realize that even the harshest environments are open; at least there is a way out. Gaza is a closed prison. A rocket could kill you at any moment, food and water are rationed, and the heaviest burden is being besieged by memories, destruction, and graves. It is a constant cycle of physical and psychological torment.
Prices in Gaza have started to rise unusually, and goods have almost disappeared from the markets. Types of vegetables are scarce and expensive, and meats have vanished from the markets too. I mean, what's happening is the beginning of a new famine; food is expensive and scarce in the markets!

Amal's tent was torn into by shrapnel and she barely fled with her life.
I'm in despair that we weren't able to raise enough for her -a malnourished new mother, with an incredibly painful kidney stone disease- to rent an apartment so that she may recover with her husband and children.
Now even the tent was taken from her. She is in severe pain and is scared. Please, please consider pitching in if you can and sharing if you can't.

with few exceptions we have only seen black characters graphically get brutalized. they had closeups of louis’s body and face after lestat tried to murder him showing the extent of what was done, we saw just how burned and disfigured he was after her suicide attempt, claudia’s death is one of the most graphic i’ve seen on any tv show, we got closeups of their ankles slashed and shots of louis being kicked in the head and claudia being shoved into a box of live rats by the coven members. the majority of louis’s scenes in episode 7 were of his decapitated head on a pike, forced to look at his body as it flailed, begging to die, forced to apologize in something so close to a saw trap that it was bordering on copyright infringement while being painted as cruel and deserving of the abuse and then branded by armand.
we didn’t see any shots of lestat’s head in the bowling bag. we saw him burn, but it was portrayed as comical. we did not see bruce as he died, we did not see lestat get torn up by the wolves, we did not watch nicki die. in the majority of the scenes where a white character is injured, the action is cut away, out of frame, out of focus, mostly implied.
the extent of what we saw of the brutality of black characters now feels almost fetishistic. at the end of episode 105, lestat is floating in the air looking dreamy and louis is beaten to a pulp on the ground; episode 207, lestat is put together in a suit with his hair done and louis and claudia have been severely beaten. like, after this season, the rest of the show just looks weird.
I keep trying to distract myself around the house but i just can’t stop crying. The sheer cruelty and gleeful cynism surrounding louis’ treatment is incomprehensible in its magnitude and overtness. it feels impossible to reconcile the compassionate treatment of louis and claudia’s abuse of the previous seasons with the horrifically mean-spirited antiblack and anti-victim writing we’ve had to endure for weeks. As it all settles, there is no way to view any of this other than through the lens of these writers vehemently hating louis and the people who dared regard him with love and empathy by pandering to the most racist confines of this online space.
My heart aches for jacob and the exploitation of his time, talent, and care for louis. My heart aches for the black writers who have to see their work desecrated for cheap twitter jokes and embarrassing failed attempts at virality. My heart aches for the black fans who love louis and earnestly wanted to see his story treated with the same level of care and respect afforded to his abusers and then having to sit through that violence.
Now more than ever, hannah moscovitch’ words saying that "louis would never not be believable as a victim" sound hollow and deliberately cruel and I can only hope this writing team will in time feel a fraction of the humiliation they inflicted on their audience for the crime of loving louis. that finale was shit. this show is ran by white supremacists. armand brands louis like he’s a fucking slave and carves an A in his chest. armand tortures louis’ dying body while lestat’s body is left alone. louis gets a painful victim-blaming apology forced outta him through torture and lestat gets a hallucination dinner. regina was used as a pawn by armand to torture louis with claudia’s face and lead him to breaking down. regina is forced to slit her wrists and watch a man slit his throat while shes tied to a chair across louis’ decapitated head. but armand is given a heartfelt apology from the black person he’s actively torturing and killing. oh and also lou’s torture is broadcasted and livedtreamed in a dark web snuffporn chatroom for random people to watch. how is this not the trial all over again??? armand’s “i took aesthetic pleasure in making your death visually exhilarating.” (an actual line from the show referencing why armand lynched louclaudia) all over again. this season and episode is horrifically racist. idk how i ever thought this show cared about black people.
people constantly showing more lenience with sam reid, as if he didn't make some recent weird comments about lestat's abusive behavior being because of akasha's blood and called claudia the most vicious vampire in that after dark segment to the point that delainey had to chime in to defend her. but he's the rpf stans' "woke king" i guess.
I love Sam but he does sometimes say some questionable things like those you mention and people don't criticize it much. That one video where he says pretty much 'lestat would never do that' about the train scene and him generally seeming happy about the retcon. I watched the new autumn brown video with Sam and Jacob and there Sam talked a lot about Claudia being manipulative, monster, creature etc. and tbf he says it's praise like he loves vampires, to him saying that Claudia is the most vicious vampire is a compliment. I still think he focuses too much on Claudia's 'viciousness' and sees her as just embodying vampirism which is what some fans do too. There's this great interview where Delainey is asked at the end about what she hopes will be Claudia's legacy as a character and one of the main things she says is that she wants it to be shown that Claudia "has a lot of love, she is built with love. She is love and she wants to experience love and give love." Claudia isn't a cold and loveless character, she has this fire and yearning inside her and her rage is rooted in despair and being betrayed and having love ripped away from her. She might be the perfect vampire but she's also deeply human
