Also in the most flattering way I could possibly put it as she is one of my favourite political figures, I feel like this femme fatale would have the energy & conviction of famous radio legend Hanoi Hannah taunting US soldiers.

I'm probably over explaining, but I don't want to make light of war times, or offend anyone by comparing a gender bent Hazbin character to the historical legend.

[adding this comment as i read through] But honestly, I love history, animation & yapping about cool stuff so ¯⁠\⁠_⁠(⁠ツ⁠)⁠_⁠/⁠¯ Just trying to set my intentions as I am a chronic over-explainer.

But if you are a fan of this design & don't know much about her, I really encourage you to listen back to her radio messages. She was a huge radio personality in Vietnam & would use her voice to power very haunting words, all to warn US soldiers that they were playing a losing game. Telling them straight up that their government doesn't give a single fuck about them, that they are pawns in a war they don't understand.

Now in relation to Alice Morningstar (what I'll call her now hee hee), she's the radio DEMON and I can imagine her saying very similar things in relation to the war between heaven & hell. Or heck, even just in the way she gets under Vox's skin draws my mind to this comparison.

Actually just Alastor's characterisation in general reminds me of her, I haven't fact checked but I am almost certain she had to be at least some sort of source of inspiration for Vivziepop.

Also love the way she is hitting that "other mother" pose 💅 thanks for listening to my TED talk about Alice Morningstar & Hanoi Hannah.

The history aspect is all really cool. I’m not mad about that, but please do not conjure a name and entire backstory on someone else’s art without their permission. I already got that covered. I appreciate your enthusiasm for my genderbent Alastor but this crosses a line I cannot ignore.

And I hate to be petty about this, but it’s funny you’d assume her last name would be Morningstar. If you’d take a gander at my account, that’s not the direction I’d be taking. At all. Never assume that EVERYONE rocks with your ship.

This is a....wild take to have in a fandom space. Imagine if the original creators got mad at fans for having headcanons or ships that didn't align with their canon? This fan art is also taking someone else's art and drawing inspiration from it to create something new that wasn't what the original artist intended. That's the whole point of fandom? People's art, writing, and headcanons inspire other people's art, writing, and headcanons. @spaceghostswim was sharing their headcanon/interpretation of your art that didn't currently have any context attached to it. Letting them know it wasn't the direction you're taking it is one thing, but treating them like they committed a crime is WILD. Fandom is the free exchange of ideas based on a shared love of a story. Those ideas don't always align, but that's not a crime. If that's something that really bothers you and is a boundary you want to set, that's also fine, but you might want to disclose that in your posts because what @spaceghostswim did wasn't uncommon or bad practice for fandom spaces.

You’re right, taking inspiration from original works and making headcanons that stem away from the original artist’s interpretations has always been a thing in fandom culture.

What toes the line, for me, is how easily misinformation can spread, and how easily I can lose control over the situation regardless of whether I have a fleshed out name and backstory or not. I’ve seen instances where an OC’s identity is outright stolen by an entire fan community that loved the character’s design, but did not like the creator’s interpretations of them. And they were so successful at it that newcomers would have no idea diving in. So, I apologize if I’m trying to set a boundary before worst comes to worst.

I’m not trying to be mean here. I know you have good intentions so I hope you understand.
