Cheap Thrills || ask-daniel-jackson
"Yes, and the regret will stay with me to the end of my days."
He was…very aware that something was different here. Not as it had been…meant. Or had it? He was beginning to doubt that. So much was shifting in his head so fast he was quite unsure what the plan had actually been at this point.
Right. So. New plan. Improvising was that they didn’t, wasn’t it? Time to just enjoy himself.
He dug into his steak, enthusiastically.
"But since I cannot erase the mistakes of the past, I’ll enjoy this and let you choose dessert."
Vala grinned at his proposal, her mind wandering away from the delicious meal in front of her, preparing itself for whatever goodies the dessert menu would offer. It was no secret that she, much like her other alien friend, found herself with a particular fondness for Earth's plethora of sweets and sugary goods. They were endless, really. Pies, cakes, candies, junk food. It was a wonder why she wasn't as big as a house, with all the sweets she found herself eating throughout the day. Chocolate, especially. But then again, her metabolism was fast (thanks to Qetesh) and she usually was always on the move, saving the planet and all that wonderful stuff.
"I'm up for the challenge," she replied finally, licking her lips. Just then she reached in and swipes the piece of steak he'd been cutting, popping it into her mouth before he can even begin to protest.
"Well that's just as delicious!"
I've added a list of people I owe in my little notication bar at the bottom of my page so everyone can see my shame for being a little twat and taking my sweet ass time :)
2am Flight - ft. Claudia Black
That’s right. Claudia Black. Singing in a nice, seductive, sultry voice. Swoon if you must.
"We have some smarties of course, but I guess its not enough to get technological developments into a more productive stage. Its always been slow going." Jack began munching on his food, having eaten breakfast hours ago, otherwhich consisted of a high calorie breakfast: coffee, an energy bar, and some cinnamon rolls on his way to work. That had been around 7 in the morning, and it was noon now. The food here always tasted amazing, even when he wasnt as hungry.
"Would you like to see some local sights next? Colorado Is rather scenic." He asked before taking a sip of the beverage.
Jack had to admit, hanging out with Vala wasnt too bad when she gave him a little space!
((Jetta misses Panara Bread D: ))
Vala looked up as their food arrived, tucking into her meal eagerly. It hadn't been long since her last meal, but much like Teal'c, she found herself needing more food than a normal human would. If there was one thing that came out of being a host to Qetesh that was good, it was her extra speedy metabolism. It meant she can indulge in whatever she felt like, and it would burn off in the blink of an eye. But it also let her perpetually hungry.
"Yes, of course! I haven't gotten around to seeing much of your fair planet," she admitted, shrugging slightly. "I'd love to have a little tour, find all the 'hang outs'." she accentuates her words with the cliche air quotes, grinning proudly.
Seeing Double | valathespacepirate
Once she had been left alone, Andromeda had entertained herself by poking around in the room, looking at whatever she could find to try to figure out what was going on. They left her there long enough that she’d seriously considered just leaving, and wandering around a bit more or just making her way back to the TARDIS. She was somewhat uncomfortable with the fact that they seemed to recognize her, but she didn’t have the slightest clue what this organization was, exactly.
When the door opened again, she swung around quickly, only to freeze in place. Eyes wide, she tried to process this newest surprise. The woman at the doorway looked like a mirror image of herself, though perhaps the hair was a little bit different. Andromeda opened her mouth and then shut it again before quickly beginning a nervous torrent of words. “Are you me? I haven’t met a version of me in a long time, and certainly not one in this incarnation. You would have to be an older version of me, I think, or a parallel universe version of me." Her babbling was probably somewhat incoherent to anyone besides herself. Taking a deep breath to steady her rapidly beating hearts, she pulled herself together. “Or maybe you’re not me at all. Who are you?" she asked in a more steady voice than before.
She honestly had no idea where to start. Luckily for her, the other... her, did. Or at least Vala though she did. Most of her words came out strung together, blending into undecipherable sentences. It reminded her oddly of Daniel when he was on one of his famous rants, or Samantha when she got overly excited about her technobabble. Perhaps this version of herself was a geek, like those two. The thought make her scrunch her nose.
From what she managed to get her hands on, mission files wise, Vala knew a thing or two about the SGC and their dealings with alternate realities. When skimming through the files, she didn't think much about it, probably because she couldn't really picture it. She couldn't see a bunch of Sam's sitting at a table, trying to figure out how to get themselves home. She could picture two Daniel's, however... though that was something she kept to herself.
"Older version of you?" she asked quickly, managing to pick that out of her babble. Older? Older? Well, that was a bit rude. She didn't get time for a sassy retort (which was good, considering she didn't actually have one), before the woman asked who she was.
"Vala?" she replied, looking the woman over warily. While it was true the two women looked almost identical (aside from the hair, which Vala found to be a bit too plain for her liking. Could do with some sparkly clips, or a curling iron), something told her that the woman wasn't her. Well, she had to be her... just not her her. Their timelines had to have been a great deal different. Not to mention, she didn't feel the presences of naquadah in the other woman. Had this version not been taking host by Qetesh? Blinking rapidly at the thought, she cleared her throat.
"Vala Mal Doran. And I'm assuming you're... also... me?"
Aggressively wants to RP with someone, stalks from afar.
[I hate you for that]
I ADDED THE TAG OTP: LETS MAKE BABIES. WAHT DID YOU DO TO ME?!
...i hate you. i just added three tags to my page. this is your fault
//*cackles* I CONVERTED ANOTHER ONE! RUINING LIVES WITH VALA MAL DORAN, ONE INNOCENT SOUL AT A TIME
Cheap Thrills || ask-daniel-jackson
He loved watching her enjoy herself. Much as he’d not admitted that to her openly. It was a great sign, and given the precarious nature of their lives for the last few years, Vala enjoying herself meant - in strictest terms - that nothing was trying to kill them. She was like a canary in a coal mine in that regard.
Which meant that his train of thought was going one way when she suddenly caused it to jump the tracks in another direction. “Umm, what?" He blinked at her a few times, looking from her fork to her. “I…I don’t know if I should, that’s…"
He paused, looking around for a moment in case help suddenly emerged. But it did look exceptionally tasty. And she couldn’t know that it was an act of casual intimacy on Earth, could she?
"Oh, all right," he said, biting it quickly. Then pausing as his eyes widened. “Ok, that’s what I should have gone with."
His hesitation took her by surprise, and for a split second before he finally took the bite, Vala wondered if she was doing something wrong. She had seen others in the restaurant around them doing it, out of the corner of her eye. She had seen the team share their meals (or, well, had seen Teal'c blatantly steal food off of others' plates and Cameron try to sneak it, only to get caught). The thought that perhaps the gesture was meant for two people who... would come to a lovely restaurant with a live piano and dim lighting... didn't even cross her mind.
The action was completely innocent in nature, or at least that's what she let herself believe. Although, was any of what they were doing truly innocent? She wanted to say yes, that they were just... two friends and co-workers out to dinner. But something deep down, something she was not entirely sure she wanted to acknowledge, knew. Knew that she wanted to read more into it, knew that the ease that had developed between them was something she might never be able to build with anyone else, no matter how she tried.
A smile spread across her face and she nodded. "Yes, well, you didn't so..." she sticks her tongue out playfully before taking a smug bite, eyes never leaving him.
