I still don't get what Paru is trying to do/express with the names of the characters in Sanda (they all have numbers, though...) But I still can't get over the fact that Fuyumura (冬村) means "Winter Village". Nice choice to establish that connection with Sanda/Santa (+ I think is cute, haha).

As for the numbers...

Sanda, Amaya, and their roommates all have "one" [一] in their names

Ono has "one" as well (一会)

Both Niko and Fumi have "two" (二胡 and 二海, respectively)

Yagyuuda has "three" (三郎)

Sanda has three as well (三田一重)

Fuyumura has "four" (四織)

Chancellor Tetsudome has "ten" (十予)

And Ooshibu's is literally "one, two, three" (一二三)

Now, while it is very common to use numbers in Japanese names, the fact that ALL characters have them makes me wonder if there's some importance there. Considering what we know about the story... I wonder if they're meant to be the order in which each child was born? (In fact, Yagyuuda's literally means "third son"). But then, Ooshibu's would make no sense, and it would arise a lot of questions regarding the girls' families...

Well, it might as well be unimportant. Just thought it was something interesting (that is, if Paru ever does something with that)

I wish more people would read Sanda. The story takes place in a dystopian future and the main character Sanda finds out he's the descendant of Santa Claus and has to fight to protect children. It's by the author of Beastars so it's really funny and weird mixed with thoughtful insights. I love it a lot and want it to get the appreciation it deserves
