here’s my take on himalayan pink salt: it tends to be listed as associated with love and friendship and positivity because it’s pink, but do you know why it is pink? because of the high iron content in it. iron, as in blood and rusted swords. think of it: blood salts. warding against fae tricksters, perhaps a blood substitute for some workings, an ingredient for binding oaths and for curses, a powerful but personal protector. strength, revenge, rawness. nothing wrong with the original associations, just a thought. i personally wouldn’t consider it as strong a purifier/energetic cleanser due to iron technically being an impurity
I’m watching Kitchen Nightmares and I realized I’m basically Gordon Ramsey when I’m in someone’s space and they’re complaining about bad energy, like
“When was the last time these crystals were charged?”
“Do you not cleanse your space? Look at all this spiritual build up! Don’t you dare tell me you cleansed this!”
“Malachite next to carnelian? No wonder you can’t sleep and you’re eating everything you noodle!”
you’ll kill someone
This is amazing. Mind if I add one?
If I hear one more white light witch suggest this over pills I swear to god!
i’m crying gordon ramsay is my favorite
But seriously, stop hex shaming you wombats! 😂
this is the best post
Every time I see this it gets better
CLEANSE YOUR SPACE, YOU FUCKING NOODLE.

Witch tip: Silica Packets
f you’re like me and eat a ludicrous amount of seaweed you have a bunch of these boys around:
These are silica packets. There basically very absorbent sand and if you live somewhere humid like I do they can be the handiest things ever. I collect fresh herbs and if you don’t get them all the way dry they will rot :( in their little jars. Answer: air dry on the counter for a day or two and then drop in the packet. This also helps preserve the smell. These rose petals are nearly a month old but are still very pink and smell strongly of roses. The lavender was completely fresh going in with no trouble.
Lastly, I like using some of my paper supplies out in a field. Which is kinda bad for the paper… Luckily, you can slip one of these bad boy between the pages of a heavy book or into the card box and it will keep them from breaking down.
A Marvelous Thing Spell
A Spell Bottle for Natural Instincts
“Instinct is a marvelous thing. It can neither be explained nor ignored.” - Agatha Christie.
I’m really big on “trusting your gut feeling.” It’s never let me down in any given situation. I was at my local occult shop and my instinct told me to browse the glass cases I usually avoid because it’s too expensive. But, I listened to my gut and sure enough, I found the Fenrir pendant I’ve been looking for and it was even in my desired price range! I was so happy! It inspired me to craft this spell bottle with Fenrir that encourages you trust your natural instincts, promotes those instincts to stay on point, and helps keep them from getting corrupted by outside forces.
Ingredients from bottom layer to top layer:
Peppermint: For a fresh constant alertness.
Coarse Rock Salt: Preservation of spirit, prevents corruption.
Mandrake: Clarity of mind and soul.
Red Pepper Flakes: Ignites the flame within you, fuels your drive to survive.
Elder berries: Good fortune and helps you resist temptation to stray from the path.
Cedar: The forest gives your roots strength to feed and nurture your natural instincts. Trust the trees. They will teach how to find water in the dryers of summers.
Seal with black candle wax: Your senses heighten in the dark. The night is your ally, use it. Solidify your trust in yourself. Absorb the moonlight and see the truth with its light.
I used a tall, slender-necked bottle for this spell. Almost like a funnel, I can visualize funneling the power of this spell into myself while I hold it.
While making the bottle, I visualized Fenrir in the dead of night. Using his heighten senses and alertness to survive. To find food and water. To find safety and shelter. To evade danger and triumph over obstacles.
As usual, adjust the spell ingredients and visualizations as need to tailor the spell to your needs.
Stay safe, stay alert, and trust your gut.

Help the bees by giving them a bee pool bath! It’s a simple way to help the bees get water throughout their busy day. ALL you need is a bowl or dish and rocks or marbles! It’s very simple! To make a bee pool all you have to do is line the bowl or dish with rocks or marbles and add water! MAKE SURE the rocks or marbles are slightly above the water to give the bees a place to sit or perch while getting a drink! Bees can end up drowning if they attempt to drink from a pool or bird bath because there is no place for them to perch! It’s a great way additive to your bee friendly garden 🌿🌹🐝
@lunaesteria the bee pond!
If a witch tells you they get a bad feeling from someone, trust them.
doubt is good for your spiritual practice. it’s really good for it. too much doubt can poison it and make you spiral and no longer believe in yourself, yeah, but a healthy amount of doubt makes the real experiences stand out amongst the mundane-that-you-misinterpreted-as-spiritual.
critical thinking and spirituality should go hand-in-hand. i can understand not wanting to be hardcore about being critical about things, because it’s your faith and practice, but failing to be critical about anything is…well. you start allowing your brain to make things up and believing it when it does.
THIS. This is more important than I think people realize.
YES! + it’s good to be skeptical. I definitely am.
Hey, we can’t be serious all the time!
Anti-Anxitey Spell Bottle
A dear friend of mine inspired me to make this. She had issues with anxiety for a while now, and I want to do everything I can to help her. The bottle I’m posting is the first one I did, which I designed for me in preparation/practice to make hers. She enjoys LOTR so I named the spell “Even Darkness Must Pass.”
The spell for mine however is named after Steven Universe and is a smidge different from hers since I like to make each spell unique to a person to help focus it. I worked on this with Circe. I’ve included the visualizations (in parentheses) that I use instead of spoken words.
Just A Thought Spell Bottle
Ingredient Layers from bottom to top:
Lavender - for calming and relaxation. (Circe lays upon a bed of lavender. All is right on her island.)
Dried rice - Absorbs the negativities of this world so you don’t have to, encourages prosperity in your life. (The garden is overflowing and ready for harvest, there are no spoiled bounties here.)
Peppermint - Healing mentally and physically. Smells good. (Smells good)
Mistletoe - General protection, reminder that you have the love and support of others. (Circe weeps upon the coast. She is joined by a pride of lions who lay with her and keep her warm through the night.)
Red Pepper Flakes - Self confidence, fuels you inner flame, you will not be ignored/belittled/forgotten, take no shit. (Circe looks over her farm. What is she smiling at? A whole lotta pigs.)
Personal touch - Anything that causes you to have a mental image of your “happy place.” For me, it was some purple flowers.
Seal the bottle with pink candle wax to promote self-love, trusting yourself, and to help you have compassion for yourself during times of stress.
Side Notes:
I used a classic round potion bottle. My reasoning for this was that in the SU episode about The Cluster, the gems trapped within The Cluster bubbles themselves together so that they will know peace, rest, and so they hurt no longer. I see my anxiety as The Cluster and the round bottle as the bubble that provides the desired positive effects. So, when I’m having anxiety, I hold my bottle and “bubble” myself within it.
There’s is also a song in SU called “Just A Thought” sang by the characters Garnet and Stevonnie. To me, it’s about how it’s okay to have anxiety and negative emotions. It’s just how you deal with them. You face them, come to terms with them, and keep going. It’s also okay that it takes time to do that.
Overall, that’s my most recent spell bottle. I hope it helps some of you! Don’t forget to personalize it so the spell can focus in on you. I’ll also suggest to maybe paint some runes or sigils of your choice on the outside before sealing it.
With love and acceptance,
Valencia 💕
BLOOD AND BONE
everyone knows dragons aren’t real. any scientist will tell you that tales of giant flying beasts wreaking havoc from the sky is a total made up myth for little babies and also it’s not true.
but today, I’m going to let you in on a little secret:
scientists can be liars sometimes.
welcome to an all-new episode of Weird Biology and today, you are going to learn about a fucking dragon.
FIRE AND BLOOD! FIRE AND BLOOD! FIRE AND BLOOD!
even though it looks like a creature straight out of medieval myth, the Bearded Vulture is (allegedly) a bird! also called the Lämmergeier or Ossifrage (both metal as shit but difficult to pronounce), the Bearded Vulture can be found in mountain ranges across Europe and Asia.
but before we get much further, I need to give you a proper sense of scale. Bearded Vultures have wingspans of up to nine feet, weigh up to 17 pounds and can be almost four feet tall.
this fucking thing is at eye-level to a third grader.
like 8-year-olds don’t have enough problems already. jesus.
and not only are they fucking huge, they’re they’re also smart. like, crows are smart, right? imagine a four foot tall crow with knives for feet, the face of a velociraptor and a sheer delight in anarchy. that’s the Bearded Vulture.
Bearded Vultures have complex social structures and advanced personal relations, but their intelligence shines best in the way they hunt.
yes, hunt. most vultures on the planet will only deign to eat things that have already died on their own, but the Bearded Vulture will sometimes… cut out the middleman. so to speak.
and then they eat him.
unlike other birds of prey, Bearded Vultures don’t rely on their claws to get a meal. instead, they have adopted a much more efficient and game-breaking method.
imagine you’re hiking alone through the mountains when suddenly HOLY SHIT a feathery dragon swoops out of nowhere and knocks you right the fuck off a cliff to your tragic and untimely death. it sounds like something from a Game of Thrones episode, but this regularly happens to tortoises, goats, and and in one really strange instance a monitor lizard.
nobody ever said nature was nice.
after the prey has met its doom via physics engine abuse, the Bearded Vulture swoops down for a meal and is promptly sued by George R. R. Martin for copyright violation.
(ha ha! this was a joke! a funny joke! PLEASE DO NOT SUE ME, MR. MARTIN!)
seriously though, one of the most interesting and alarming aspects of the Bearded Vulture (out of many, so many) is their diet. once they have either found or “helped make” a carcass, they get down to business: they eat the bones, and only the bones.
that’s probably the most metal fact I’ve ever listed about a bird and I have listed a LOT of bird facts.
it’s right there in the name, “Ossifrage”, which means “bone-breaker”. (and that’s the SECOND most metal fact I’ve ever listed about a bird, by the way.)
Bearded Vultures are the only bird whose diet is almost exclusively bones. like, we’re talking 85%-90% here. it’s a very high number.
they swallow smaller bones whole, and crack the larger ones open by abusing physics again and flinging them off cliffs. it’s worth all that effort for the sweet sweet bone marrow hidden inside.
probably means they never have to worry about calcium deficiencies, either.
but most importantly, it means that Bearded Vultures have little to no direct competition! this cool bone-eating trick means that they’re the only predators in the area even interested in the stupid things. every other scavenger only wants the soft parts, meager fools that they are.
the only thing that a Bearded Vulture really needs to worry about is other Bearded Vultures. (and humans, but more on that later.) to ward other vultures off, they rub red dirt into their feathers and perform elaborate threat displays. the deeper and more visceral the red, the higher-status the vulture.
you can experience this effect yourself! simply dunk yourself in stage blood and then board your nearest public transportation device. the best seat is instantly yours! provided that nobody else is bloodier than you.
but all of this ridiculous dragon bullshit comes with a price.
in the middle ages, humans in europe were convinced that Bearded Vultures would: a) eat their sheep, and b) carry off and eat small children. (they were right about the sheep thing, to be fair.)
but because of these beliefs, frightened parents hunted down and slaughtered Bearded Vultures wherever they found them. and it turns out even an avian dragon is no match for projectile weapons.
the Bearded Vulture population in the Alps was completely wiped out by the 18th century.
nothing motivates multiple generations of a human population like “THIS THING WILL EAT MY CHILDREN”.
but there is good news! Bearded Vultures are much more appreciated these days, and they have been successfully reintroduced to the Alps. they’re still going strong in the Himalayas, and also Ethiopia.
let’s hope these real-world dragons stick around and terrorize future generations of humans with their blood red feathers and horrific table manners.
FIRE AND BLOOD! FIRE AND BLOOD! FIRE AND BLOOD!

To give you a sightly better idea how bog these things are:
Please note how this bird is comparable in size to the man’s whole torso.
There in an apocryphal account of the death of Ancient Greek tragic playwright Aeschylus (c 523 BCE - c 456 BCE) involving the Lämmergeier. It is said that he died when a tortoise was dropped on him from a great height. The story goes that the Lämmergeier mistook Aeschylus’ shiny noggin for a rock and dropped its meal to break it open.
“killed a playwrite in Ancient Greece” is one of the most stupidly ridiculous metal things I’ve ever heard, what the fuck.
zero light plants
THIS IS SUCH A SPECIFIC AND SUPER NECESSARY POST.
Spider plants are among the best natural air filters you can put in a flowerpot. They don’t just produce oxygen, they clean out other gases and toxins and whatever else is floating around the room.
Also they’re easy as fuck to grow more of because they reproduce by putting little mini plants out on stalks. Clip one off, stick it in a pot and you’re good!
Spider plants are safe to have around cats, too!
