Decided to paint my cat. When I lay down, she likes to stand on my chest. She always had those big, empty, sparkly eyes when she does this.
some of you seem to be under the unfortunate impression that i enjoy finishing things. i enjoy making things
fuck an "intended audience" how about we normalize engaging with new and unfamiliar art pieces on their own terms
ladies and gentlemen, please welcome the difference between pushing a product and creating a work of art
I can't be bothered to find the thread rn. But there were a bunch of people talking about it, and I agree, so I'm sharing the idea here:
We need a death of the audience; lots of media gets worse because authors are too worried about a hypothetical audience. As someone engaging with media, you need to understand that you simply might not understand all of it, and that's ok. But also I think more authors need to realize that it's ok if not everyone in the audience will fully understand everything they're doing.

I made these brushes for CSP a while back, and I've used them a LOT, but I've decided to share the files on my ko-fi. :-)
A while back, I worked at a comic book store five days a week, so I had access to a lot of old Marvel and DC comics. I made these brushes from scanning the comics directly. My brush set has all 64 colors which were possible to print on newspaper at the time.
The names of the brushes are the same names that a colorist would use if they worked for Marvel or DC back in the day. For example, R is 100% red, Y2 is 25% yellow, Y3 B is 50% yellow and 100% blue.
For a long time I told myself I wouldn't share them because I thought I could find more work as a colorist if I had my own tools. Well, I still haven't found much work as a colorist, and I thought it would be nicer to share with other artists.
It's $20 or pay what you want for a zip folder with 64 brushes. Yippee!
in 2026 DO NOT ask yourself whether your art is GOOD
instead ask:
is it SINCERE
was it CATHARTIC
was it FUN TO MAKE
is it MADE BY ME
and don't forget to stay silly
I'm seeing warnings about scammers trying to commission artists but the "reference sheet" for their character they want commissioned isn't an image but a .vbs file ("visual basic script"), and will run a script when you open it, probably to yoink your account(s), but I haven't seen this from anyone who's actually clicked it yet. Just be careful and never open a file like that, 'cause people suck.
For reference (heh)
At a glance, file name checks out. But!! Do not open a .vbs file!!!
While I was at Planet City Comicon I was pulling out my colored pencils and revisiting my OC Helios. Haven't used colored pencils in a while and it was fun!

So.. Hi, I'm Rachamim and I make culturally rooted queer fantasy work, drawing inspiration from my Greek-Sephardi background. I seek to marry the elements of the queer body and love with ornate detail and a lexicon of personal symbolism 💗
Made some Marcus the Worm buttons. I will also be selling these at Planet City Comic Con!
Kitty buttons are all pressed and ready to go for Planet City Comic Con! >:3
Making some new buttons! 5 days until Planet City Comic Con!
