I’m literally devastated by how they DESTROYED a character who could’ve been so deep and brave and caring and alive. I LOVE Mike, and I refuse to believe that whatever they did in the finale is my Mike. I love the Mike we built through theories, the Mike that felt like the original intention of his arc. I believe in a Mike who grows up and understands that his feelings deserve to be seen, that he doesn’t have to stay stuck in a relationship where he can’t fully express his love, that he doesn’t remain anchored to trauma, that learns to be honest with himself, is brave, and faces the world to be free. I refuse to think of Mike as some boring Ted, alone in a basement, numb to life, repressed and stagnant.

That is not my Mike. My Mike, OUR Mike, is wonderful.

Byler is inevitable. No matter how much the show attempts to bring it down, it doesn't work because Mike and Will's relationship is the blueprint. Their bond and connection intertwines with the plot and is the structure for following events. This is why S5 is not appealing and makes no logical sense with the amount of plotholes they've created due to the erasure. It's undeniable that Mike and Will is the key to the verses future - by tearing byler apart, they have singlehandedly destroyed the shows narrative.

It's funny because byler shippers have received harsh backlash and humiliation, but they've been right all along. And the disappointment isn't just on their side because the presumption of audiences (both general and loyal) believed that scenes were cut from volumes, and that the present writing was horrible enough for fans to theorise that a hidden episode is to be released and crashing netflix for expecting it.

Byler carries the weight of the entire show even if you may not realise it, and they're cannon even if they writers try not to make them be because Mike is in love with Will's feelings for him. You can't change history. And even if you try to, you'll destory everything.
