PROJECT 3: Instagram/ Team project: Robyn David Valerie
Subject: Instagram wants to diversify its revenue stream by allowing users to customize and purchase physical versions of their photos.
1rst step: We created a survey (American and translated in French) to see:
- Who are Instagram users?
- why is it use for?
- people printing photo habits?
Screenshot French results: Why do you use Instagram?
1 See contents
2 Edit photos
3 Post contents
4 Like photos
5 Comment photos
Screenshot American results:
After analyzing the results, we could see that:
- Instagram is mostly used as a social media.
- Most of people don't need to print their photos.
- But more than 80% are highly invested in their photos.
Step 2: Interviews
At that points, nobody seemed to want our new feature!
But we discovered that for the majority of people, photos evoked them positive emotions.
So we decided to get around the problem and find a new solution:
Instagram is not only a social media, it's a way to share memories and emotions. Let's continue this fabulous sharing experience, like you could touch your memories!
Step 3: Analyzing what we had
Concept mapping : who are our users?
So we created 3 personas: Ben, Madison and nana Hazel.
But for this time, we focused on Ben: Active user and highly invested in his photos.
Step 4: Competitive analysis
What products do they have? What works? and what doesn't ?
Step 5: Analyzing
With all information we had, we focus on the idea that Instagram was an Instant app: so one product.
And still with the idea of sharing, we decided to make it a Sticker.
Step 6: Sketching and wireframing
Step 7: User testing !
As usual, user testing is a great to see all we missed.
So after the 4th iteration, we did some high fidelity wireframes.
Step 8: Prototyping
Here the link of our prototype:
