Recently I’ve been very inspired by @st-hedge’s amazing paintings and wanted to try painting more environments myself, and I’m very happy with the result!! Plus it gave me a reason to indulge in my own Zelda aus ahah
Sometimes trauma does fun stuff like making you worry if you’ll be able to taste the food you’ve always adored without making your stomach hurt from bad memories. But well, at least the other you is having a blast!
Loop finishes the plate embarrassingly fast but Bonnie has everything under control and was already making a new batch. And Siffrin, inspired by Loop’s enthusiasm will successfully try and love the food, to his relief (the added spices help differentiate these fritters from the loops’ ! )
Like the rest of the internet i have been sucked into tomodachi life and I felt the need to keep a history of Loop’s disastrous love life, for posterity.
First they fell in love with Siffrin but alas, him and Odile were mutually crushing on eachother so even when Loop was the one initiating the confession, Odile ended up winning Siffrin’s heart… it’s fine Loop got over it and even went to their wedding! But then… they started crushing on Isabeau. And oh boy did I have to get creative to cheer them up.
That bit about Bandit loving scritches behind the ears beamed this mental image straight into my brain and I had to make it real, for my health. Definitely not for dusk’s health though, I’m pretty sure he’d die on the spot if this ever happened ( @askoverkill )
can i interest you in the concept of siffrin and loop holding hands with their fingers intertwined
Please imagine Siffrin being the one jumping over to Loop to talk about something unrelated and using that distraction to casually grab Loop’s hand. When Loop realises what happened? It is too late, their fingers are already locked together. Guess they are strapped with stardust for the foreseeable future! Urg! They can’t keep getting away with this!!!

I only have a vague idea for the event itself, pretty much Siffrin protecting someone/a pokemon during some dangerous ranger mission in his early adulthood. The context around it and the consequences though? Let's talk about it!

This Siffrin used to be very self-sacrificing, a consequence of the Feefee kidnapping that happened when him and Loop were kids. He never admitted it, but him (and Babble) always felt a huge amount of survivor's guilt about that day, thinking they could have done more to catch the thief before it was too late… well, they never want to feel this powerless ever again.
So Siffrin grows up with that baggage and decides to dedicate himself to helping and saving other people and pokemon which is why he chooses to become a ranger pretty quickly. He joins the field in his teens and he impresses everyone with how dedicated and caring he is, so he quickly progresses in his education and becomes a full fledged ranger as soon as he hits 18.
The thing is, now that he's an adult and his missions are more dangerous, it becomes obvious that he has a tendency to risk his own safety way too easily if it means he can spare someone else the hurt. And one day, he takes one too many risks and loses an eye as a result.
Even though he feels like it’s not a big deal compared to having successfully saved whoever he wanted to save, this would be the culminating point of his self-sacrificing tendencies though, because this immediately triggers an intervention from Loop when they find out.
Loop and Siffrin have gone separate ways for a few years now because they pursued different jobs. Loop is trying to start a career as a coordinator while dealing with both their and Feefee's trauma. They absolutely display avoidant behaviour as well, but it manifests more as a borderline toxic positivity and refusal to deal with stressful things.
So when they suddenly explode in rage in the hospital room, it takes Siffrin completely off guard.
"What do you mean "it's not a big deal"??? You lost and eye!! And it could have been worse!! It could have been so much worse!! What, so you dont care if you die? I can't handle even the THOUGHT of losing you and you just say "no big deal"??? Stars!! We're all already messed up as is, being a danger to yourself is not going to solve this!! So now do I have to stress out about YOU too? Do I have to constantly check on you to make sure you don't accidentally kill yourself while playing the hero?? And what about Babble?! Your other pokemon?? Do you not care about leaving them behind?? What is wrong with you??!" And so on and so forth.
Needless to say.
A lot of tears were shed that day, by both of them. And Siffrin got the message loud and clear.
They both eventually calm down and Loop apologises for yelling and admits that they GET why Siffrin did it… but still, this reckless attitude needs to change. Siffrin agrees.
After that, Siffrin is forced to take time away from duty and decides to follow Loop around in their Contests for a while, mostly so they dont spend hours agonising over his whereabouts and safety. This little journey ends up helping them a lot. It allows them to reconnect with eachother and their pokemon, and to face some of their demons together. Not everything is solved by the time Siffrin decides to go back to work, but things are much better.
After that, Siffrin is way more careful and intentional in the risks he takes, his missing eye a constant reminder of what is at stakes.
As the title may suggest, this is sort of a sequel to that one loop insomnia post, where I showed that Loop would have a hard time falling asleep due to it feeling a lot like dying… except this one mini comic would happen after they’ve reunited with the party! After hours of sleeplessness and a good dose of desperation, Loop ends up discovering the hack to fight it… doesn’t mean they know how to ask for it in a normal way (spoilers: it’s snuggles with their clone)
Change god bullies loop is the code name for perhaps one of the most lore? heavy? bits in washed up Loop's story. Basically, this is the moment explaining what happened after Loop faded away and why they ended up back on earth.
They're in a void, thinking they're dead... then they open their eyes and there's [something] that makes them yet again feel like the butt of a cosmic joke and start ranting about how unfair and cruel everything is... and then Change God hijacks the scene and basically chews them out for being such a sourpuss
Things get better after that though, and [something] happens and poof! Loop wakes up on a beach!
Flashback fever stems from a simple idea: what if Loop's brain decided that they were back in the fucking building again?
As in, sometimes, Loop wakes up completely out of it and mumbling their lines to themself. Any attempts at 'waking them up' fails as they either ignore them completely, or, in case of physical manhandling, makes things worse as their brain interprets it like they're being attacked by sadnesses. So the party unfortunately has to hold off and let them ‘walk through’ one of their loops before they reach a reset/death to wake up. Some resets are less bad than others (like the tears) but needless to say, these 'fevers' often ruin the rest of Loop's day when they happen.
But hey, maybe Siffrin can eventually get through them? Who knows!
