Comfort Me (teehee)

Comfort Me: I’ll write a drabble about my character comforting yours- vise versa.

The beatings were beginning to get worse. She could see it, the bruises beginning to form under the skin. They could easily be covered by cosmetics, but the fact that she continued to let it happen for the sake of the kingdom…it was hard to watch. But per Gwen’s request, she had to remain rather tightlipped about the entire situation. She had to act normal until otherwise prompted.

God, the waiting was getting to her. Alpha stirred from her book, due to her hearing quiet sobbing. No doubt it was Gwen. She approached her chambers, allowing herself in quietly. Of course it was her, who else could it be? A pale hand was placed on her shoulders, as a means of reassurance. No need for words to be spoken. Actions said it all.

She was tired. All of them were. Debts will be paid soon, she was sure of it. And she was going to enjoy every moment of it.

             “…Very well.” He sighed. The kingdom was soon to descend into war              if something was not done. And Snow couldn’t do a damn thing to             stop it. For once…he felt powerless to help Gwen. But he didn’t show             it. After all, he had to be her unbreakable shield. It’s been this way             since they were kids. “Talk to the generals, see if they can help.”

“I have already sent for them to gather beyond their  homes, and meet here under the guise of a ball held in their honor. With hope, Snow everything will fall into place and we can have a plan for battle.”

              She closed her eyes and took a deep breath,          before allowing herself to start walking down the          hallway towards her private chambers. Beyond           those she currently inhabited with her fiancee. 

“But for now, I must get cleaned up, we needn’t worry the council or the court with my current situation. We  both know how fickle the nobles can be.”

Miranda’s jaw clenched considerably. However, she understood why. She was playing it safe for the sake of a lot of people. Miranda and her personal guard were the people who prevented harm to her when necessary. She had no idea when the end game would come, but she hoped it was soon.

        The Princess moved from within the War Room and         into the hallway, towards the throne room. She had          so little time to throw together a ball worthy of the          court of Valirys Lumeria. But if anyone could make it         happen it was her.

“Claire!”The Princess offered a shout toward her old friend, and huge smile. She hadn’t seen the woman in what seemed like eons of time,  though perhaps it wasn’t nearly as long as she’d come to think it was. “It’s been so long since I’ve seen you! How have you been? How’s Serah?”

          “…If that’s your order, princess.” He let his hands fall back to his side,              once she was stable enough to stand on her own. Her actions reflected              the kingdom as a whole, and she wasn’t going to have her reputation              soiled by reacting by emotion alone. No, so many other people would              pay the price for her.  “It has to be discreet. Somethin’ between us,              between your military. It can’t be discussed outside the walls.”

It wasn’t because he knew him well, it was merely because he was one of her guards, and he was loyal to her. “I am not built for war strategies and battle I may know how to fight but this realm hasn’t seen war for centuries.
