ok the “people calling Charles ‘dad’ thing” is in my head now and like it would absolutely melt Charles’s heart every single time. Like in my head the first time Charles got called dad was actually pretty jokingly by either Sean or Alex when he goes into prof mode but it’s still weirdly touching to him? And then they open the school and maybe a few months in one of the younger kids has a nightmare or something and goes to Charles for help/comfort and that’s the first real “dad- I mean- prof” moment and just 🥺🥺 And Charles puts the kid back to bed with a glass of water and a spare nightlight. He goes back to his and Erik’s room and “Erik….. one of the children called me ‘dad’….”

He would cry so hard the first time that happens - and honestly probably also cry every single time after that as well

oh and bonus, the first one who accidentally gets called Mom/Mama is Erik

I could imagine Charles giving a "lecture" after Sean and Alex break something in the mansion (yet again). All the "You need to be more careful or the walls will go down next time," and all that and Alex just rolls his eyes and says "Sure, dad." And Charles just stops because he's so caught by it, but then shakes it off and goes.

But as you said, whenever one of the smaller kids (or even the bigger ones) call him dad by accident and he cries because he's so touched and warmed by it and he appreciates it and finally he must be doing something right for the kids to slip like that right? Erik finds Charles being this emotional very endearing.

For the bonus; Alex hears it and then calls Erik "Momgneto"
