How much for this silly little sour patch orange? He liked to use his teefies a lot… but was extremely cute & apologized for being sour like a sweetheart, so he was impossible to stay mad at.
Sweatheart sour patch orange a real nice polite fellow! And don't stay mad at these prices, now going for only $26.33!
i'm fuckign. dying 😭
Sometimes I am so struck by the fact that society is so messed up when it comes to careers and jobs.
Like, overall, I like my job just fine, but it can feel unfulfilling because I don't think it 'adds' anything of real value to the world. Multiple times, I've considered retraining to become a social worker, or something similar - nurse, crisis response worker, teacher, therapist, etc. - I have experience interacting with vulnerable people in society from when I worked at the public library and it was fulfilling to me. except here's the problem. None of those jobs pay well enough for me to really live above the poverty line in my city like my current job does. Even on my current wage I can feel like I'm drowning some months. And even if it DID there is the cost of retraining in and of itself; getting qualifications is expensive, and that's nothing to speak of the fact that I'd have to have a full time job while qualifying, meaning I'd have to exhaust myself working evenings and weekends (something that with my health considerations just isn't really feasible). So these jobs that society relies upon, that society NEEDS, feel unattainable despite a genuine desire I have to do them. Whereas my current job pays more despite not being a vital service to society.
This is definitely something that's always existed but I feel it's gotten worse in the last few decades. For example, my mum worked a well paying job that she struggled at for various reasons, and when she was 25 she retrained and worked in a care home part time for a few years. Her doing this did impact her finances slightly, but no where near the way it would for me. She didn't lose the place she was living like I would - in fact, she moved somewhere bigger and began to sort out her mortgage. She could go part time to facilitate getting extra training she wanted and the training itself wasn't as expensive and being part time didn't affect her as much.
People say that individuals are cruel or don't want to go into these necessary jobs, but I just...I don't think that's true? I think the vast majority of people would much prefer jobs with real community impact if they could live well on those jobs or retrain easily to get them. Most people are locked out of jobs because of decisions they made AT EIGHTEEN on which uni courses to take. It's...it's just crazy to me. If we paid those jobs better...or had better ways of helping people retrain to get those jobs while still maintaining their homes and lives...idk man. I just. I just feel we could really get a lot more people doing a lot more good.
(and I know, I know, volunteering is an option to try and help out in your spare time. But...we get so little spare time, it kinda loops back to the issue with the time you need to spend on retraining. And good volunteer opportunities can also be pretty hard to find in big cities...so many times available volunteer opportunities appear to be mainly based around like. Helping to run a charity shop. Which isn't really the same as doing a job which provides connection to the community and often requires you to be available during the working day)
(also when I talk about being 'well paid' I do not mean richly paid. I mean like. Able to afford to have an apartment, eat out sometimes and go on holiday once a year)
This is Calliope
She shuns bright lights and enjoys finding and using pillows of all kinds. Truly a lover of comfort.
Look at her getting cozy in the pile of soft things! She let us tuck her in with her favorite blanket :3
Say goodnight Calliope!
@kittybroker what do you think my comfiest kitty would go for?
Comfy and sleepy Calliope now crawling slowly onto the market for the comfortable price of only $25.90!
I don’t think that reconciling Morrigan and Flemeth is possible overall because the degree of abuse Morrigan was put through is too immense but I also think it narratively sucks as a plot point because Morrigan’s inability to love her mother no matter how much she would probably love to live in a world where her mother was deserving of her love is like a big thing for her as a character. Sometimes a character hates their mother and only overcomes that wound by not being like her. Sometimes reconciliation is not the way out and it’s fine.
"i want him in a way that is concerning to feminism" <- trite, overdone, equates feminism to prudishness and is thus concerning to feminism in itself
"i want him in a way that is concerning to medical science" <- well now we're getting somewhere.
dai au where everything is the same except:
1 - solas is a woman
2 - at the end of the game, its solas rips off the mask to show she was actually Flemeth all along
the real REAL reason solas is wearing that fuck ass helmet in halamshiral is because she knows morrigan is there and she doesnt want to get caught
now this is huge
does morrigan drink from the well in belath's save? because then belath can ride her dragon form
She is specifically forbidden from drinking there [by me] because Belath wouldn't be normal about her having dragon form.
and rightfully so. as a belath fan i cannot condone depriving her of a dragon gf but at least marcella will have her harem of mentally unwell older women in power
