for all those people with strict parents out there/just have something to hide, here is a list of all the places i have hidden things 13-14 year old me was not allowed to have that arent just "in a stuffed animal, in an old bag, in your shoe, in a hairbrush"
in an empty opaque shampoo bottle/skincare product container- usually nobody's going to look inside an aquaphor container or a 3n1 shampoo + body wash. good for small things but it depends on your container. keep it in the bathroom or shower
behind picture frames- i used to have a phone that i kept hidden from my mom even when she swept my entire room while i was at summer camp. i stuck it in the canvas frame behind a picture on the wall and she didnt find it even though she was looking for it
inside battery compartments- im sure you have some sort of device that took 4 ish batteries or more. thats a great place to stash smaller stuff (just make sure you have the cover lol
under the plastic bits of those cheap art kits- if you were an art kid, you might remember those cheap art box kits everyone got you for christmas because you were the art kid and they didnt know what else to get them. i hid a whole computer in one of those for several months but got caught when i fell asleep using it
inside empty outlets- in some older houses there's these random little one hole outlets you used to plug phones into. unscrew the bottom screw and you might be able to flip it upwards and stash stuff in there
under a loose corner of carpet- again, this is really only for skinny/small stuff, but if you have a bit of carpet in the corner of your room that is loose you can tuck it under there. mine was under my bed so that helped
under the fake dirt of fake plants- you can just pop the little plant bit up and stick your stuff in there
avoid any sort of box under your bed, spot in or under a dresser, spot in the top of your closet, fake book/bookshelf stash, or just general "hidden in plain sight" locations like behind your door or in your pillowcase (bc most ppl think thats so obvious it mighy work). if they are onto you, your parents will end up finding it.
i keep my smaller things in retainer cases, so if someone sees it they dont think to open it
also try to take anything you can with you out and about if possible, its better to have it on you so they dont comb your room while youre home (unless theres a chance of being searched).
if you have several levels of contraband in your room (like youre not supposed to have scissors but youre ALSO not supposed to have your burner phone or vape) hide the less incriminating thing in an easier spot to find so if they do suspect something and comb your room they'll find that instead and get distracted. also good for if they claim youre acting suspicious, you can just say you were hiding that
