jacob comes from a long line of vampire hunters, but has never taken the job as seriously as his sister, evie. one rainy night, on his way toward a location evie had been adamant he go to, his carriage breaks and his horse dashes off, leaving jacob stranded just outside a large, gloomy mansion. he hazards a try at knocking on the door, cross in hand as he mumbles prayers to keep him safe. to his surprise, a lively young lady greets him. jacob’s too naive to notice the way some of her teeth are sharper, or how her skin seems to glimmer… he even manages to ignore the red reflection in her eyes! she welcomes him in, and so begins a night of cat and mouse— where the hunter, becomes the hunted!
