Another Jax/Gangle ramble
Now that the final episode is out and about, I want to talk about them again because thinking about them really does make me shake with delight. I know I’ve said it before but they truly are the only ship that has caught my eye in this show. From the moment Jax shoved her out of the way on that escalator, I was entranced.
BUT, liking them is SO HARD. Not because of the uncomfortable, cruel moments (because I love those), but because I see so much content that focuses on Gangle fighting back and hurting him and being in control and that’s fine and dandy! I must admit, though…oh, I do so love when Jax is just evil and cruel and hits her and pushes her and SHOOTS HER???
Ah, I know it was in his head, but the moment above really sits so well with me. It’s everything I have ever wanted with them. The power dynamic, the intrusion of space, happy mask gangle (or whatever that version of the mask is called). I’ve seen some say it makes them uncomfortable, yet that is ALL I have ever wanted from “Ribbun.”
While there are certainly some outliers, Ribbun SHINES when it’s Jax hurting Gangle, or both Gangle and Jax hurting one another. My itch just isn’t scratched when Gangle is in power.
Anyhow, they make me sick. Gangle and zooble and jax and Pomni and Pomni and Ragatha aaahhh…WHATEVER (of course, I can see why others ship them), but I feel nothing when it comes to them. I would see no tension with anyone in this show if it weren’t for Jax and Gangle’s disgusting little dynamic
In fact, I love how they showed that Jax hurt her SO MUCH that when he abstracted she wasn’t just forgiving and gentle like everyone else. She was conflicted, because Jax was terrible to her. I LOVE it. I wanna see more of Jax messing with her and making her miserable, and I want her to use that mask of hers to get back at him, I want to see them RIP each other apart and I want Jax to be so into it and I want Gangle to be disgusted with herself for even liking the attention, the pain. Ugh.
Anyway, I might be losing it, but whatever.
