<--- This person is currently accepting weird anons, have you evers, and truths or dares.
Kouhei could think of several creatures who weren’t as he described, actually. But he wasn’t going to argue. “Well, you’re right about that. The fact that they can’t really sense spirits doesn’t help their case, either. And as for me, I’m one of those people who can… kind of.”
He sighed. It wasn’t his fault he was born with such weak powers. But he wasn’t going to go into that right now, not with a vampire looking at him like he was going to eat him.
Shiki suppressed a laugh at the look the the boy's face. "I just ate, I'm not hungry you know?" and to prove his point, he held up his box of pocky and waved it.
"And a vampire of my status, we don't kill to feed." Shiki shrugged, hoping for the other male to relax. He hated having those around him nervous. He had enough of that when- well, during the small war let's just say.
A vampire. That would explain it. Not quite a ‘spiritual’ presence. But not human, that’s for sure. And the blood thing made sense, too.
"Really? That’s impressive." He grinned. Though seemingly unperturbed by that creepy smile of that young man’s, in all honesty, Kouhei hadn’t seen a lot of smiles that eerie. He didn’t move from his spot, even as the vampire got uncomfortably close. It would probably not be wise to move, in case he felt like feeding.
"I didn’t know vampires could walk around the human world so freely," Kouhei mused, "don’t people notice you? For what you are, I mean."
"Do not group me with those who cannot even think properly for themselves; those who are so thirsty for blood that they lose their mind." Shiki scoffed slightly offended by the question. "And no, the average person's sense's are so dull they aren't able to tell me apart from one of them." It was a true fact, honestly. "In all honesty they usually don't pay attention to anything around them other than themself or those they are already familiar with."
Shiki narrowed his eyes slightly. "And you, how are you able to sense those who are not human?"
"It would depend entirely on what ‘your kind’ is." Kouhei put his hands in his pockets, meeting the young man’s gaze levelly.
"I know lots of youkai around here. Though, I’ve never met one with your spiritual presence…" He trailed off, tilting his head at the other. "It feels really different. Haven’t met anyone with a presence like yours. What are you?"
"Your kind..." Shiki let that sink in for a bit.
"I know lots of youkai around here..-"
"Youkai." A thin eerie smile spread, the corners of his lips tugging upwards.
"Do not compare me to those weaklings. Even among my kind, I'm considered to be one of the strongest." Shiki stepped closer to the human, only inches away from him before taking a big wiff.
"I am what you humans would call, a Vampire."
"You’re awfully trusting of strangers."
The reply made Kouhei snort. “Got me there,” he said, finishing up his stick of pocky. That ‘cheering up’ part really wasn’t something he was sure about, but if that meant free food, maybe he should act like this all the time. That was a joke, of course.
At the man’s later statement, Kouhei looked up at him in surprise. “… Thank you?” He’d only heard the words ‘smell’, ‘sweet’ and ‘young’ in sentences used by Youkai. The ones who choose to reveal themselves to him, that is, and those were the ones who usually wanted to either drink his blood or eat him. The bad ones, one could say.
"… You’re not the first to say that," he replied, shrugging. "And probably not the last."
This time it was Shiki's turn to blink in surprise. Were the others here? If so, why couldn't he smell them here? When had this person seen them? Was this person a Vampire Slayer?
"What?" He stared at the stranger straight in the eye. "Are you saying there are more of my kind around here?" Shiki had a difficult time hiding the shock in his voice. Well no shit right?
Once again, Kouhei was reduced to staring. First at the young man, then down at the snack. Sweets weren’t his favorite thing in the world, but he did need a fix for this crap day (it occurred to Kouhei that this was almost like the man was offering him cigarettes. It didn’t help the snacks could sort of be compared to them).
He took a stick of pocky, mumbling another ‘thank you’ before chomping down on it. “You’re awfully kind to strangers,” he mumbled through bites.
"You're awfully kind to strangers"
Shiki blinked. Was this considered kindness?
"You're awfully trusting of strangers." Shiki shot back rather dully, munching on his favourite treat. "You looked like you needed some cheering up."
Shiki leaned in closer to sniff the boy before licking his lips. "Also, you smell sweet... and young..."
A soft sigh escaped Kouhei’s lips. Of course, of all days he picked to lose his wallet- and his means of getting home- he’d picked the day when he left his phone at home. Walking home didn’t sound like a good idea, but it was the only option he had…
… until a familiar wallet was held out to him. He blinked once, then looked up at the young man who handed it to him. He was a tad bit stunned, mostly by the fact that the guy hadn’t said anything, but he took the wallet back anyways. Opening it, he was relieved to find that no money or cards had been stolen. “Thank… you…” he said hesitantly.
Shiki nodded as the strange man- boy(?) said his thanks.
"Welcome." He replied stiffly, taking out a bag of pocky from his pocket and opening the packet. Taking a stick for himself, he offered the packet to the boy wondering if he fancied himself some sweets. That, and the boy looked like he could use a bit of cheering up.
"Damn. What do I do now?" He knows he left his wallet somewhere around here. Just, not where.
Shiki wasn't having the best day he could ever think of. He wasn't having the worst, thanks to that wallet he had picked up on the park bench earlier, but he wasn't having the best day either. Today was the anniversary of the big war that went on in the academy and it felt like shit that he had to be alone on such a day.
"Damn. What do I do now?"
Shiki turned to the source of the voice and stared at the boy nonchalantly. Was this wallet perhaps his?
He approached the shorter male and wordlessly handed him the same wallet he had picked up earlier.

Once upon a school night: Sora&Shiki
The moon was nigh. The owls hooted into the depths of the night. The skies black, stars splashed out upon the dark blankets in the sky. Sora was up and around on the school grounds, feeling a little glum. He wasn’t sure if the place had a curfew, but he wanted to walk around to get things of his mind, off his chest. He was feeling a little lonely right now, but he didn’t understand why he was so sad about it. He really didn’t want to be this way. Why should feeling lonely make me so glum? I’m not like this much at all…, Sora thought.
Sora was now battling out with his feelings. Confusion and sadness. Honestly, it’s not like him to be so down about being lonely. Was it because he wasn’t around anyone he knew? Was it because he was yet to interact with anyone? Who knows. Sora made a stop in the center of the courtyard and looked up at the stars. There are many worlds, but they share the same sky. One sky, one destiny. Kairi’s words echoed through Sora’s mind, the male remembering the exact words she wrote on that piece of paper. The stars continued to glitter up high, Sora’s eyes still glued to them, focused. Was Kairi ever out there? He might have been so attached to Riku, but Sora hoped that Kairi realised that what they have is just as powerful too.
“If words could reach you… I’d be home.”
Shiki sighed, swirling the red liquid around in the wine glass. It was odd. He usually had something to do, and even if he didn't have anything to do, he was- never really bored. Lifting the glass full of red liquid to his lips, he sipped the contents and frowned slightly.
Bitter...
He swirled the red liquid around in the wine glass. The blood pill tasted strangely bitter today. Did it have something to do with his recently down cast mood? Did it have to do with the fact that- despite how much he despised to admit it, he missed his previous life with everyone he knew before? The night class and even the little Kuran girl...
How Pathetic.
Slowly getting up from the sofa in his room, he clicked his tongue. Not particularly in the mood to really do anything, he decided to go out for a walk. The moon was shining bright and high in the night sky, the cool night breeze felt just simply amazing against his skin as it softly brushed past. For someone who didn't generally express his feelings too much and kept to himself, he could tell he wasn't doing a great job of hiding the lonilness from showing in his expression.
But why bother hide it?
It wasn't like anyone was out here anyways, really to see him, or to talk to him... right?
