YEP. APPARENTLY IVE BEEN SHADOW BANNED SO NOW I HAVE TO REMAKE š”
Without a doubt, Guillermo was much more inclined to protect his own Master than Nadja, but that didn't mean he could just let this woman, whoever she was to approach her. He couldn't believe he had ended up caring for two vampires that still treated him quite horribly, and yet, here he was. He supposed family was that way, you didn't always have to like them, but they were...well, family. ā Maybe... ā he let his voice trail off. Sookie didn't look like a vampire, but he knew well that there were all sort of supernatural creatures that weren't necessarily harmless ā I am Guillermo.ā It didn't hurt to be polite-ish, did it? āHow do you know Nadja? ā
Sookie shouldn't have been surprised that he wasn't upfront as to the whereabouts of Nadja, her old friend that thankfully never tried to eat her despite comments about how good she smelled. She hadn't been to the house in so long that she should have expected things to change, like the tenants, assuming that the man, Guillermo, was a new tenant in the house. Did that make him a vampire? Eyes did do a little squint as she concentrated on him, hearing just a couple of jumbled thoughts to let her know that he wasn't a vampire, but that could have made him anything from human to a werewolf. ā I actually used to live here, ā she told him with a smile. It had been almost a decade since she had, technically, though it only felt like she had been gone for a few days. God, how much had she missed? Did all the vampires still live here or had some of them moved on? Did they have new progenies?
things we hear in a diner
"hi! welcome to [DINER NAME], how can i help you?"
"could i get the special, please?"
"you should pretend their phone number is a tip. stop them from pulling that creepy shit again."
"poached, fried, scrambled or boiled?"
"could i get a top-up, please?"
"what are the specials today?"
"oh, if you're a student you get free fries! and free coffee!"
"i love the cheeseburgers here!"
"sorry, we're all out of [MENU ITEM HERE]!"
"hi! i'm [NAME], i'll be your server today! what can i get for you?"

"you're the only one i trust to make my coffee."
"whipped cream, custard or ice cream?"
"i love your apron!"
"you left your scarf here last time! i kept it safe for you though."
"and here's some crayons for the kids."
"would you like the bill or a dessert menu?"
"how did you make this? i'd love to learn!"
"they make all the sauces here from scratch!"
"apple pie or cherry... such a difficult decision to make..."
"you should do cookery classes. i'm serious, they'd be insanely popular!"
"okay, not to gossip, but those kids over there are on a date, and we're making sure it goes well!"

ā Demons? ā Unless you counted the whole Billith incident, Sookie had never encountered demons before and she wasn't sure that there was any offer that she could take to put her in a room full of them. ā Okay, I don't know much about demons except what I read in Sunday school, but I don't know about all that. ā
ā Really? No one has ever asked you that? ā Curiosity often killed the cat but Sookie Stackhouse never had a problem crossing those lines. As soon as she and Bill had their little stroll through the cemetery together, she was asking him all kinds of questions about being a vampire. She couldn't help herself and wanted to unravel as many mysteries as she could about them. He's the one who suggested some vampires could turn into bats if they wanted to. ā I'm gonna take that as a no then, ā she said, pursing her lips tightly together.
ā I have in the past, yeah. It just depends on the situation. ā Sookie looked him up and down before continuing, ā So what are you wantin' me to do? ā
"and the ones you do get, are you always this welcoming to?" its said in a light jest, nothing too serious. he's not unfamiliar with how hospitality positions work. waitresses, bartenders -- they all lived on the grace of tips. lucky for her, dom had always had a heavy hand in that regard. "well when you're spending time out on the road you catch a few days of rest when you can so. just happened to land here."
ā Of course! It's all about the SOUTHERN HOSPITALITY around here. ā Sookie's smile was as bright as it was sunny outside of the bar and grill. She was friendly to everyone that came into the bar that was from out of town, curious about where they were coming from. She was such a country mouse that it was exciting to hear about where people came from and what it was like. ā Where are you from? ā She asked, setting down a menu in front of him on the table.

The greasepainted man peered curiously into the blonde's chocolate eyes. He started deeply into them and was mesmerized. Not by hers but by sudden memory of someone whom he was fascinated and obsessed with that he was instantly reminded of who had the same kind of eyes hidden behind a mask of sorts. It immediately popped into his head and bled like some kind of uncharged mantra. A prayer really as he chanted to his unknown deity he worshipped.
'Batman. Batman. Batman. Batman. I want to know you. I need to know you. You complete me. You understand me. I need to pry you apart and crawl inside of you and stay close inside. Close to you. Close to you. I need you. Batman I know who you are but I am not entirely sure. I think I know but you are not. Him. No. You are too --'
His thoughts faded when her soft voice pulled him away and into their current conversation. He cleared his throat, and licked at the corner of mangled ruby lips where the scars were cut the deepest. "And----- who has been trying to hurt you, dear? Why--- would they? Did you do something to ah, Insta-Gate that?"
@vampirecrack
BATMAN. The name kept ringing in his head like a song that he couldn't stop thinking about and, like anyone else living in Gotham City, she knew the name and had seen the bright signal illuminating the sky a few times in her life. Some people thought that he was a hero who cleaned up the streets. Others that he should have stayed out of the way of the law. It wasn't her business. Sookie wasn't special enough to put herself in the middle of all that, so she kept her head down in Gotham and hoped that, despite her reputation back home, she wouldn't be pulled in the middle of anything and stay clean.
The man in the clown makeup's thoughts was so scattered and overwhelmed that she was sure she was making a face at him, her brows knitted together and staring a hole right through him as she tried to hang onto every syllable in his head. The words that he actually said out loud finally grabbed her attention, eyes focusing on him again, listening to what he asked her. ā I never did anything to instigate anyone. It's complicated, ā she said, not wanting to go into detail with a complete stranger.
he knows he looks out of place. in some little bar in an unknown town in louisiana, he stuck out like a sore thumb. but it's no where near where his father would think to look for him so -- it served his purpose. looking up at the waitress, he set his glass down empty before he spoke. "what, don't get a lot of outta towners here?"
ā Sometimes. That's why it's easy for me to pick y'all out of a crowd. You start recognizing the face around here. If we were in somewhere like Shreveport, maybe not so much, but Bon Temps is too small not to notice. ā

Sookie knew she had joined the SAVIORS for all of the right reasons but sometimes she worried about that knot in her stomach that made her think she was here for all of the wrong reasons as well. There had been a lot done wrong to her, specifically by vampires, giving her more than enough ammunition to join a group that was stronger than her alone. She had the scars on her neck to prove it, too, but that didn't mean she wanted every single one of them dead just for the sake of existing. There was a small handful of vampires that she did know and cared about, but she knew a lot more that thrived on hurting humans and doing whatever they pleased to them. Nothing was black and white.
The faerie swallowed hard. She knew that she was capable of following a set of rules but she knew herself better than anyone else, too. If her mind was set on something then rules be damned, she'd find her own loophole to do what her heart was set on doing. She just hoped it wouldn't have to come to that . . . or the punishment that would follow. ā I want to save people, ā she acknowledged out loud. ā I've met too many people that have been prey to vampires, werewolves, freakin' witches . . . and nobody's been there to help them. I've lost people, too, more than I ever thought I would lose. I don't want that happenin' to anyone else, especially anyone kept in the dark about what's really out there. ā
ā What is someone like you even doin' this far south in Louisiana? Seems a little bit out of your element. ā
