A Weird Thing...

This isn't really an opinion post like I usually post, but rather something I've experienced myself and was wondering if other vampires notice it in their own lives as well.

There have been multiple times people have pointed out something about my eyes and what they do when I get angry (actually truly angry, not just irritated/offended).

I don't know exactly what they are seeing, because they describe it like these (paraphrased, it's been a while for some of these) statements:

"when you get angry, it's like something flashes in your eyes and it's really scary. I've never even seen anger on your face, just that is enough to be creepy though"

*right after something made me incredibly irritated to the point of anger* "whoa, hang on. Something just flashed across your eyes." "Like what?" "It was weird. Like lightning or something, but in your eyes"

*while sparring with a friend and finally getting into it* "whoa hey...*steps back* don't look at me like that, it's scary."

These are the biggest instances I can remember. I don't exactly know what these people are talking about and thought for the longest time it was just a "me" thing. But recently, someone mentioned that "it's a lie that vampires don't have weird eyes. Just get one angry and you'll see what I mean." And it got me thinking.

So my question is, have any of you other vampires ever been told something like I was? Have any non vampires seen your vampire friend or family member have this weird "eye flash" thing? Can anyone describe this phenomenon in more detail?

I had an issue with this back when I was a teenager where a lot of people were uncomfortable looking me in the eye, it got to the point where I just began to avoid eye contact to make things easier. Unfortunately I have nothing scientific to back it up, but I do have a theory. Humans are pretty good at recognizing predators, while they aren't exactly in tune with their instincts anymore, they still tend to get a healthy dose of fear when face to face with something that can eat them. Simply put, they can tell you are a predator to them, and when you are angry you are more likely to have the look in your eyes of something that looks at then like food.

so I tried out a fake blood/blood substitute recipie I found from VICE and it’s surprisingly good??

64 oz of canned tomato juice

Mostly the pulp from high pulp orange juice

12 crushed iron tablets (they recommend 25 mg tablets so 300 mg for the entire pitcher)

18 crushed amino base tablets (like l-lysine)

Red food coloring

A little bit of blue food coloring

And a little bit of salt

Mix everything but the blue food coloring in a larger container you can pour from and let it sit in the fridge for an hour. Then add the blue food coloring until it’s your preferred color and leave it sit for another hour.

Also yes it’s a lot of iron, so they really recommend that you don’t drink more than 6-8 ounces in a day (please be careful/safe about your iron levels) but aside from that, it’s got a good color and that irony/coppery bite and aftertaste to it.

Best served warmed in the microwave for about 15 seconds. 8/10, would recommend.

Definitely something interesting to consider, I was just talking with a friend yesterday about potential alternatives and the risk of using too much iron in them. I'll have to try this is the near future and let everyone know how well it works if at all.

Hey there everyone good news! In a short amount of time I will begin training within a branch of the United States armed forces! This will mean that I will be unreachable for roughly 5 months (my job requires lengthy training after basic), however this will mean that I will have first and experience as to if and how the military handles vampires within their ranks. Assuming they offer any type of accommodation for our specific set of needs (be it during or after training) I will compile any information that I can and hopefully be able to share with you all what I have learned.

Alright y'all survey time for the vampires that follow us here, it's been brought to our attention that our metabolisms may have an impact on how frequently we need to feed, the more it slows down the longer we are able to go without. What are your guy's thoughts on the matter? Have any of you noticed less of a need to feed as your metabolisms slowed down with age? Hey, could you sum up vampirism ? How it happens, how you know, and how to feed? Just like real brief like intro if you have a spare moment - thank you for your time !

Ok, so this is a tricky question considering some of the things I have learned recently. Vampirism to my knowledge is a genetic variation that occured at some point amongst humans, whether suddenly or over time I am uncertain and doubt I will ever know. Most vampires have a physical need to consume blood (there are some whom it is entirely psychological and some experience minor symptoms if not sated however I can not speak for this type of vampire), I am unsure as to exactly why and I am not a scientist with the technology and time to check unfortunately. Anyways, since we have come to be there are two currently known methods to become a vampire, either being born one, or through the stereotypical method of being bitten and turned (usually intentionally). Traits consist of better night vision at a cost of visibility during the day, slight photosensativity, harder nails, elongated canines that can sharpen (depending on the type of vampire), which also implies the ability to alter at a molecular level (known to be scientifically possible but also requires a vast amount of energy, usually heat, to be performed), typically our injuries heal faster although we are just as susceptable to physical ddamage as everyone else. To correct some stereotypes no there is nothing satanic or even religious at all about our existance, none of us fear crosses or churches, holy water or that weird cant cross running water myth makes absolutely no sense. Pretty much any supernatural sounding ability or weakness is false (although I am ashamed to admit that I do get sick to my stomach from eating garlic for a completely unrelated issue lol). I cannot vouch for if we all sunburn easily as I am Irish and essentially everyone who is Irish catches fire fairly quickly. This is just a quick general answer I am throwing together while at work, if there is anything you would like me to expand upon feel free to ask.

Alright my fellow vampires, donors, and those of a curious disposition I have received a fair amount of feed back from you all so while I attempt to manage my personal life and take compile some of the information I have gained from you all at the same time, I would like to ask you all a question or two! How would you all feel if the vampiric community (psychic, sang, and all of the alike) was brought to recognition and became general knowledge? Not just as in hey we are on the internet and you can look us up to see that we exist whenever but to be genuinely recognized by our fellow citizens and governing bodies? What do you think the resulting consequences would be? For those of us who have had to be very secretive outside of the internet about what we are, what concerns would you have? Different types of vampires?

So, it has come to my attention that I haven't actually posted about what seems to be different types of vampires that exist today. Over the past couple years I have encountered the sub group that you all know as "sanguinarians". At first they completely baffled me, it's like a completely different set of rules for vampires, and of the people I have talked to within them, some are most certainly vampires. This has caused me to have to reconsidered what it means to be a vampire, as first I was extremely skeptical, how could one be a vampire without fangs? How can they only take such small amounts of blood and claim to frequently have a bunch of negative side effects and dietary restrictions? Even more so how can some claim on only need to siphon energy from other living creatures (the psi or psy vampire). I have had to consider all of the things as a real possibility and that means that there must be more than one specific type of vampire. I will begin to compile some different traits as we as shared traits and attempt to organize them for each of us and if anyone from the sanguinarian or psi community would be willing reach out to me to elaborate on the specific traits of their condition that would be greatly appreciated. After I have gathered enough information I will post what I have gathered and attempt to organize it in an easy to understand format (considering I post from mobile organizing info isn't easy, maybe I will make an exception for this upcoming post). I will also attempt to formulate a theory on as to how different forms of vampirism could have came about and what could possibly lead to the different set of traits we seem to have. Subject: Feeding

So I figure I should just throw some content out there as some general knowledge that I have obtained over the years. The first subject, feeding. As you all know, we drink blood, thats kind of our whole deal, although the amount required and frequency for each Individual seems to vary. Personally during my high school years and earlier I fed roughly once a week, maybe every other week if I was sick, and it was a I HAD to feed then otherwise I would experience intense pains with the hunger. Starting around my college years I began go try to see if I could prolong how long I could go without feeding, I had met another vampire who only needed to feed once a month to maintain themselves. Well over the course of the years and frequently putting off feeding I am now able to withstand a few months without feeding. Now whether this is because I tried hard to train myself to restrain or if is simply an effect that occurred from aging I am unsure, although I am hoping it is the former. Unfortunately I have no way of recording how much blood is consumed with each feeding but I have noted that I am able to take enough to make individuals faint or feel dizzy if I take too much, and this seems to be a shared experience among the others that I have spoken to. Now being able to go longer without feeding has has some very obvious side effects. The longer I go the moodier I get and the more quickly I become angry at even little things that I usually would be entirely unphased by (I am usually considered the voice of reason amongst my friends), and the quicker I seem to turn to physical action or violence as a solution as opposed to thinking things out. I also experience constant fatigue and seem to always be tired and experience regular hunger more frequently. Fortunately my girlfriend is my donor and is always available if I need to feed so if I start to experience an unbearable amount of pain or discomfort I am able to feed whenever I need to. Um, for now this is all I can think of putting down, maybe for the next subject I will make a rough draft and properly plan out the content. So assuming anybody will ever see this post, to the other vampires out there, how do you react to blood loss? I was reading a post earlier and this question was asked and it peaked my interest. Personally if I am doing anything that causes me to lose probably more than a few drops of blood I immediately become aggressive and it's hard to keep calm. What are your guy's experiences?

It would seem that unless I join in with the stereotypical gothic/depressed/emo/whatever the hell they are groups that frequently post under vampirism tags that my efforts to assist people are null and void. I won't lie, I didn't want to believe that vampirism was still as integrated into the gothic and emo culture as it was when I was in high school, I had hoped at this point we would have broken free from the stereotypes but it seems both human and vampire alike are intent on keeping things as they were.
