People see Zim being the most selfish bastard imaginable and will wish they could even fake that level of confidence and self assurance. He pushes everyone else down in order to succeed and he has no courtesy for anyone else because he was never given any compassion and, less tragically, he is just kind of that way. Nature VS nurture? It does not matter in the end. ZIM is just a bastard. Do you wish you could be so self serving? Do you see him trying so hard for the people who do not care, who never cared, who are not even capable of caring, and you see a reflection of yourself and your parents? Does it make you feel seen and heard and understood to witness an outcast in the depths of delusion, and NOT see a character who is tragically doomed to deserve this fate due to his own terrible actions and personality but instead project onto this mean little alien the desire to be held and loved and listened to?
