Mina could not help the way her eyes widened with excitement to hear that the other woman had lived in Berlin for a period of time.
"It is truly such a fantastic city and yes we are very much liking our brot. I have a habit of baking three to four loaves of it when I am feeling stressed." If Parker was bad at small talk, Mina didn't really even seem to notice. She was delighted that someone else had lived in her beloved home and had at least something to say about it.
"Oh I do quite like the rain. I have never been someone who thrives in too much sunshine. I am sehr pale and usually I will bring an umbrella or some sort of hat if the sun is being too bright." She remarked and gazed out over the crashing of the waves.
"But you are sehr correct. The frequency of the rain is making me appreciate those occasionally drier days." After a moment or so she realized she'd been talking quite a lot and felt her cheeks warm up considerably.
"Oh es tut mir leid. I am doing much talking and you are probably trying to relax. You are not knowing me and I have a habit of rambling... I can be making myself quiet."
Parker wasn't bothered as Mina started to go on about her home country. So much had changed about Parker's that she seldom found a chance to speak about what she missed. There would be many things to explain if she started talking about how she yearned for the simple life of living in a small village where the gossip was about what monster ate half of the local farmer's chickens. Or how his wife had to be buried with a sickle over her neck to keep her from coming back from the dead after a particularly mysterious death.
"I think a majority of Europe is so pale that they wither if coming into contact with direct sunlight," Parker remarked with an amused smirk, arms crossing over her chest as she let the woman continue. She didn't get to just let people talk very often. She spent so much time holed up alone at home that she forgot how nice it was to just... get to know a complete stranger without having to worry if they were onto her or wanted to see her again.
"You don't have to worry about talking, I don't mind it." She assured Mina with a gentle smile. A rarity for her, really. Unless she was trying to lull someone into a sense of false security, which... well, old habits do die hard, after all. "I don't mind listening to conversation as long as the other end doesn't mind that I'm a woman of little words. I'm a listener, not a speaker."
