Saw someone arguing about why they “don’t want trans women in women’s sports” which is always a dumb and hateful argument, but they said they didn’t wanna be “thrown around by a man in wrestling” and I’m like…girl wrestling is based on weight class. A trans women in your weight class doesn’t have an “unfair advantage”
Also I’m offended as someone who had to do coed wrestling in school (because no other girls were in my weight class) and people are assuming I’d lose based on my assigned sex???? Babes we’re just redoing misogyny. Wasn’t the whole point of 2000s + 2010s pop feminism that “girls can do anything boys can do” ???????
like just another example of transphobia hurting everyone because by stripping away trans women’s womanhood out of fear of them being “too strong” or w/e, it inherently tells cis women that they are always going to be weak/lesser than cis men.
