of course he’s not wrong. he’s had two hundred and something odd years of knowing he’s not wrong behind him. when you get his age, you kind of forget to keep up with your actual age you know. lips quirk, because he drinks it more for the substitution of blood more than anything, “you can say that.” hidden gleam behind honey optics almost as if he’s holding onto a life-long secret -- and oh ! he is, but the other doesn’t really need to know anything about that. “although,” fingers flex at this point, “i’m pretty sure soda tastes great too , even though it’s not exactly my cup of coconut water.”

it wasn’t really his fault -- not really. he’s never been one for loud noises or loud places. but somehow he ended up getting dragged out and as the other speaks, he cracks open one eye lazily sizing the other up. he moves, shifts really, to where hands are on the couch and he’s sitting up and arranges his face to one of nonchalance. it wasn’t that the other wasn’t pretty -- oh no, she was very beautiful, but the poison that comes off her tongue as she speaks, makes lips quirk up just slight enough for eyes to look up through golden lashes. “well, i’ve got money but the handsome boy is a bit wounded that you’d think he was asleep. after all,” he pauses as he brings his drink closer to him, taking a well placed sip, “he likes the company of the other.”
Danny is leaning over their shoulder to see what he’s doing “ :3 ???? “
“are ya standing on your toes?” words peppered with humor of all things as slender fingers finish the swan origami he had been working on before twisting slightly and hovering it near the other’s face. “do ya want her? i was just bored.” an excuse at it’s absolute finest. it’s not like calix knew that danny was going to come by and he had nervous energy. of course not.
