In Ring of Solomon, Asmira tells Bartimaeus she’s scared and I’m pretty sure he mocks her because she got them into the situation. Now, if Ptolemy told Bartimaeus he was scared, Bartimaeus would wrap him in his arms and promise not to let anyone hurt him. But I think if Nathaniel told him he was scared his reaction would be kind of scattered. Bart wouldn’t mock him. Bartimaeus would be completely shocked that Nathaniel admitted this. And then he’d try to say something comforting, but it would come out awkward because they don’t usually relate to each other by having heart to hearts. But then, he’d brush off the idea that the danger is anything a powerful djinni like him can’t handle and try to act more confident than he actually was because he can’t imagine losing Nathaniel and, even if things do go south, he’s not going to let Nathaniel die afraid!
